- In this episode we will be listening to 'Tears of Rain' by Greta Van Fleet.
So far, this is by far my favorite of Greta's slow songs. I love the way the music and lyrics go hand in hand. They support each other. It even ends on a major chord. Very beautiful chord voicings and chord progressions. I can definitely head the growth in their songwriting. Видеоклипы

The Candlelight Session of this is, PHENOMENAL. Josh's voice just blows me away.
Yes! REALLY missing out not watching these versions! 😔.
Agree!

This song gives me chills every damn time. Those high notes get me every time. Beautiful song indeed. 😄
Per the band, “Tears of Rain is the communication between our souls and a higher power. It is about a primal people ravaged from a drought of hope. Our inspiration for the outro came from our love of soul music.” Great reaction and so glad you found this song to be beautiful.
One of the great things about this album, is just how much deeper they went with these songs. The message isnt always so cut and dry, but a lot of it is underlined with a feeling of hope.
With a small amount of words.
The heavy exhale at the end of the song is everything. I think I can speak for all who have listened to this song, that we felt a collective heaviness as the song was played and forgot to breathe until precisely before the thunder sounded. Almost giving an aesthetic of hope through an answered prayer.
This album is magnifent. If you haven't watched four of the tracks 'live'. Heat Above, Light My Love, Age of Machine - Age of Machine I think has more impact live and you will enjoy watching them performing together. And you should really love the end with them all raising the bar, Danny and Jake work so tigh together and Josh's vocal and breath control in the last part of the vidro is stunning.
I saw them in Little Rock last year. I knew it was going to be an amazing show, and I was still blown away.
They’ve only performed this song live once…Josh said it scares him as it is a difficult song to sing. It’s truly an amazing performance. On one level, I do think the song is about climate change but on a higher level it is about the search for salvation.
I really wish he’d attempt it again, such an amazing feat of vocals. Of course I don’t want him to damage his throat but man if he ever gets the fire back I know he’s kill it. It’s my third favorite on this album and there isn’t enough of it.
@@dylancole1910 - It would be a dream come true to hear this live. For a while it was my fave, but I love all the songs so much it is hard to narrow it down.
@@Badmmajmma my top three are changing all the time-well, not my top, it’ll always be Broken Bells, but right now it’s that, Age of Machine, and Tears of Rain. Built by Nations and Light my Love complete my top 5 for this album.
Just beautiful but as always GVF compositions are deep and in spite of the obvious creative lyrics are open to interpretation. I agree with JSoan the candlelight version is a must to see. It gives one chills to say the least. Awesome reaction Shotgunn, to another GVF piece of art!!🤘🏻😉
I do think this song is about suffering in a drought, alluding to the negative effects of climate change. Where I live we were in a bit of a drought with intense heat for what seemed like half the year, so I felt this song captured the feeling of that time perfectly.
Fantastic!! Thanks Shotgunn!
LOVE the Candlelight version too!
Love this song and I agree this is the best of their soft songs. Always want to hear more of this but realize it would not be the same story it tells if there was a guitar solo or something else to extend it. Some of the best melodies you’ll hear from any band.
JOSH CAME OUT YESTERDAY 🌈✨✊🥰 TEARS OF RAINBOW RAIN 😭😭🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
I think it has to do with global warming. This is a young group of guys & I think they dabble in "political issues" in a subtle manner. I love this one!
Did you hear the thunder at the end?? The rain is coming!
Yes! That was beautiful!! Musically tit ended on a major chord too. Which is the uplifting feeling of knowing the rain is coming! Thank you for your comment!
Danny plays drums, french horn, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, piano (at least a little bit), probably more. Imma see if I can find the clip of Danny singing & playing I think Mandolin. He also has perfect pitch. It's not a song on any album (that I know of) just him. But, I like the song! What do you think? Here ya go!

That sounds very nice!
@@shotgunndunn I know, right?! Who knew?
Josh é um vocalista incrível ❤❤❤
this song/lyrics fits the album.... i wouldn't listen to this on its own, but would love to see how he performs this live live (not produced live ie. candlelight sessions)
by the way, i think your interpretation is near probably what the intention was lyrically.

He performed it live in LA. It was magnificent
It never occurred to me that it could be about the dust bowl, but it sure could be🤯
❤🌧️
I think the band has said that when they went to South America for the first time to tour with Metallica, they were blown away when they saw some of the communities living in the favelas (low income areas) and the abject poverty. Sombered them and so the mothers with their children search for the rain...
Josh just came out!! I think we all knew anyway.
Hope he's happy.
Same ! I honestly think he wanted to establish success before he came out so people would see their music and not his sexuality first. Especially with him already receiving backlash 😭 people are fkd.
@clareeeeee1 Yes, they are.! Hope he's strong enough for the backlash, people are so quick to judge. Live and let live. 🤘
Yeah, I heard. Not a bit surprised! Happy for him. I also hope there’s not any bullshit backlash. It’s totally unnecessary when people spew opinions of the lifestyle of others. We’re all just humans being!
@@shotgunndunn I’m just surprised a rock star maintained a relationship whilst touring for 8 years, at such a young age 😂😂
👍🏼👍🏼
With all these profound lyric ftom these still young boys we should find out if these 4 jewish boys are christians, possible but rare, or are in some old testament orthodox god references ot referring to some kabal, I mean they can t just make this up all those weird song topics, their inspiration comes from a solid background imo.
They are polish.
They were brought up as strict Catholics.
They are not Jews. They are Christians
