Saw Diamond Head support Saxon in Hull a couple of years ago. Awesome to see the band that's influenced so many of rock and metal's top acts still going strong!
This is so much better tan the classic period, they are now better band and more famous that then... The singer and the drummer are the 🔑 to be in the top. The first album are incredible but is better the 2019 half version of it... Is not just the sound of it is the energy of the band and their playing and the 2 albums of the new singer are fucking amazing. They are on the top now. And is the first time of this band to be in the top.
I remember experimentally purchasing" behold the beginning" back in the mid-late 80's I played that album front and back, over and over. I picked up my guitar and learned over half of the songs in the next few months, starting with of course "Am I evil" then "helpless" etc, etc. I remember thinking how though it was a great bunch of songs,it lacked that 80's metal tone, still so awesome though! Now to hear these guys , the 2020 remastered versions......f#ck yeahhhhhh!!!!!!! I love behold the beginning, always will, but diamond head, today , the test of time and refinement has made me a fan all over again🤘🎶🎸🤘
Good songs, great musicians stand the test of time. Nice to hear this re-recorded version elevate and add to the legacy of the original recording, done over two decades ago!
I missed this album somehow and found it a few years later. They sound great and I love the fact that old band mates and new band mates working together to make this killer album. Just wish I knew about it sooner.
I love me some Diamond Head! I had Lightning To The Nations back in the mid 90's and now wish I would have locked it up somewhere so it didn't get stolen from me!
This production makes the song comparable to it's peers. Too many people couldn't get past the bare bones production of the original recordings. I preordered the album on iTunes!
To me, the 2020 version of LTTN doesn't replace the original recording. The raw, bare sound of it was part of its DIY charm. Still, I love that these songs were modernized for a new era. I'm generally not a fan of classic albums being re-recorded but this version knocked it out of the park.
Rasmus has a kickass voice, very nice range. I think the vocal melodies were changed just a little too much which throws them off the pace of the music, though. Instrumental track sounds incredibly good.
I love DH and don't mind this idea to re-record the album but this doesn't sound right. It's too slow and whilst I love the new singer on his DH albums (the last 2 albums are EXCELLENT) this does sound a bit off.

I mean I guess there's hope there to win over digital-age fans or something. To anyone in the know (older fans from the analog days), I think I can safely say that to the majority of us, the originals still sound fresh in 2020. It seems pretty transparent. Here's this legendary band that should have been a top billed stadium act, but bad luck and/or business decisions took that from them. Now it's 2020 and the band is trying to find a way to reach that next level. Personally, I think they just need to do an album and think strictly artistically rather than business-wise. Likely, they'll create something pure that will grab ahold of people, like the real LTTN did. Best of luck to the band, you're always going to be the best in my book, even though it's built on the now distant past.
They still are recording new material. The last two albums are great, and I'm sure if they have done them then they will be bringing out awesome albums in the future. There are a few reason they are releasing the 40th LTTN edition, 1) for the fans, 2) the band play these songs live and may have changed them a little. 3)No major band wants to release a new album without a tour to promote it, it's simple business sense, so some are releasing older material. Diamond Head should have been bigger and it's a shame that they have to play small venues to a couple of hundred people. I don't understand people sometime, the musicians live mostly by playing live and guess what, they can't play live for maybe another year depending on Covid so are finding other ways to stay afloat. I for one will be buying this album when it is released. I love the original album, love the newer stuff and will support them as much as I can.
@@thelstanegn5348 Bang on. Full kudos to them for getting something out this year, and they're working on original content as well but will want to tour it - and when is that going to happen?
@@imaginactivefitness5794 Hopefully next year, but I think even then it's going to be pushing it. I still have my ticket for Saxon's 40th , Diamond Head, Krokus and Girlschool, I just hope they will reschedule for next year.

Going to see Diamond Head supporting Saxon York Barbican November 2022 - husband can’t wait.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Diamons head influenced metallica we all know metallica is badass
I would hardly call 1 original member "going strong*
They sound well produced but 80s sound will always be the absolute best
I agree
It would help if it wasn't performed like a modern country songs. Sounds ridiculous!
This is easily the strongest lineup since the classic period the rhythm section is so on point and ras is a legend
I agree completely! And Bom delivers all the goods!
No. Sean was a better singer but Rasmus suits the metal scene better.

Brian Tatler is one of the most underrated musicians in rock music
Is that the singer? if so, I need to search other bands he might be in. He sounds insanely good. Cheers!
@MonoChronicle Nice. I'm intrigued by the singer. He has a wonderful tone/texture!
