Last year, I commented on one of Brittany’s videos and said that I had interviewed at a small private school. Y’all were all so nice! But I didn’t get the job. Or ANY teaching job last year. It was ROUGH. BUT, I decided to try again this year with a different school and district. Well, this week, I interviewed with another school. And I got the job! I will be teaching fifth grade in the fall! I’m so excited and would love your prayers, guys!

I am now wrapping up on my first year of teaching...which ended up being pretty crazy and unexpected (nothing like I imagined my first year) with COVID-19. I teach 9-12 High School English. I have a feeling someday I'll be in middle school, as well, but for now, I feel my calling is with my current of students. It's so, so amazing to see you back in education again! I started watching you when I started tutoring. It was the fall of 2018, and I was recovering from concussions I had back in the spring. I had daily migraines and this channel encouraged me to keep working, keep tutoring, and keep loving the students I was blessed with. I had absolutely no idea that I would ever go into education -- I still wanted to be a dietitian.
Fast forward to today, I've recently graduated with my AA and I'm soon to take the GKT in order to learn how to best teach others.
I used to be known for trying something, burning out on it, and hating it for a while because I wasn't "good enough." I obsessed over health, art, music, and sports. I burned out on each one.
I have devoted about 40 hours per week (20 hours on my off-semesters) to tutoring, and the Spanish language in general (my ideal class to teach is Spanish 1-2). This is one thing that keeps me happy, pumped, and excited for my future no matter how hard I had to work. And, it's one thing that God has directed me to pursue, every time I've doubted.
:) thanks for inspiring and encouraging me♡♡♡

Ms. Brittany, I have built strong relationships with all of my teachers. Today, my school lost one of its teachers. I was upset and your video reliably uplifted me. This is my first time dealing with the death of a teacher and I will always remember the wonderful moments we had together. She was not my teacher. However, she was a constant support for me. She taught at our school for over fifteen years. I want to be a teacher so that I can inspire students to achieve their dreams. My English teacher is teaching us virtually and her lessons are still as engaging as they were in the classroom. It is my dream to become an author and I endeavor to spread the love of reading and writing with my future students. One of the things I have learned from my teachers is to follow my intuition. I recently wrote a short story, The Tree of Exposure and a poem, The Age of Hearts. In eighth grade English, we have read the novels, Down a Dark Hall by Lois Duncan, The Pearl by John Steinbeck, The Outsiders by SE Hinton, Night by Elie Wiesel, and The Giver by Lois Lowry. We read the short stories, The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, The Girl in the Lavender Dress by Maureen Scott, Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl, The Landlady by Roald Dahl, The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, The Monkey’s Paw by WW Jacobs, A Retrieved Reformation by O. Henry, The Lie by Kurt Vonnegut, The Open Window by Saki, The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant, and The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry. During the month of March, we read two poems everyday. I am so excited to read Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare in ninth. I absolutely love my middle school. I hope you have an amazing teaching year ahead. I love you

I love your channel and teaching videos. I just recently ended my 2nd year of college, and my major is early childhood education. I hope to be a preschool teacher. I aspire to be as positive as you are and as passionate as you are with the children that you teach. I would’ve loved to have you as my teacher when I was in middle school/high school! I also think you’d make a great elementary school teacher... Any grade level is lucky to have your caring personality. So happy for you ❤️

Hey Brit! I am so thankful for your videos. Especially this one comes at a perfect time. Watching your videos, I always feel like having a chat with you and it kind of calms me. The last few days were especially hard and I was struggling to keep my energy up for my students and to engage with them. Sitting down and listening to you took my thoughts of the subject I was thinking about (which was a video everyone shared on social media including triggering content - in the end this triggered me and I felt like being in a dark place again). But yeah, thanks for this video again and I just wanted to tell you that what you are doing is so incredibly great! All the best 🌻

Loved this video! When I watched the video where you did the lesson at the middle school I knew that you would become a middle school teacher. I work at a middle school and I love it. Middle schooler can be crazy lol but they truly make me love my job. When I'm down their funny jokes and personalities lift me up! You will be a great middle school teacher.
