I think being a kpop trainee is generally hard for all companies always training, studying, practicing but I'm glad BIGHIT gave them free time but still the trainees used the time to practice which really shows their commitment but I'm always sad when one of them has to go home or didn't make the cut, like Jason.

It's really heartbreaking, especially for the trainees who took out loans just to be able to train and debut.

I dont think this video justified how hard it actually is being a trainee or parts were changed or left out. Trainees practice at least 14 hours a day, and companies also put them on very strict diets. Although this video stated how bighit wasnt big on dieting or what they ate, this may not be the case for most companies and it depends on the trainee. It is known how big the diet culture is in kpop even starving is considered a diet. It is also said trainees have to weigh theirselves infront of the trainers everyday to make sure they dont surpass their “ideal weight” this doesnt even include how much mental strength it takes being a trainee as u are criticized in front of ur face ppl telling u that u are not good enough, or blatantly saying ur are too ugly or fat. Despite going through all this, there is not even a guarantee that u will debut and making it big in the industry is very hard. Sadly, this gets worse when they debut.
Hybe should focus on vocals more rn rather than dancing and choreography
