I bought a Sun Jib 1200 last year. We have it on a Vinten Ped Plus with a Varizoom Zero Gravity Head. Every part of this set up moves smoothly and with the combination of a dolly and jib the camera flies over long down looking tracking shots and the 2 axis underslung head lets the camera look off axis from the jib. The ped plus has a 18" vertical on shot movement, meaning I can raise the camera without the curved jib motion. I really like this set up. The SunJib is a great buy, the quality is fantastic, and mine was shipped DHL overnight from Korea. We had to have a 100mm mounting plate made, but I think the new models have one. Daniel
a gimball with some (carbon) extension rods can make alot of these shots (like a small jib/crane), so you CAN make shots from 3 meters high, to a low angle shot in one smooth movement

Fenchel & Janisch Great video like always man You have reviewed a lot of 4K cameras and all the Reviews are pretty detailed and Helpful but I would like to know which is the BEST 4K cinema camera under 4 grand out there right now to your opinion for Films out of all the 4k's you have reviewed and btw I really love the way you edit your videos I can tell you really take your time getting the right mood and they're worth watching too Thank you.
Lover your Instagram feeds too. Thanks so much. I normally travel to Hamburg and Husum, but if I get to Frankfurt, I almost feel I can find my way around your beautiful city because of your videos :) All the best.
I have used gimbals and sliders before, and I am making my own jib so it will be interesting to see how it goes. I also have a gimbal on a monopod staff, so it isn't quite 4m or 5m like my jib, but it does allow the camera to move through rough terrain about 3m high.
Fenchel & Janisch I think gimbals are nice but personally i like the look and feel of a glidecam much more than a gimbal. Not saying I will never buy one but stabilizers still have my priority
Been wondering where you guys have been. I think a steadicam is the most versatile piece of filmmaking tool you can have, but I guess that falls under gimbal.
Question, is there any value in a jib crane that has pan and tilt that the crane operator can manipulate? Something like a yoke that can pan and tilt and the camera does the same thing on the opposite end of the jib?
I've compared colors from Sony, Canon and Nikon. Sony is horrendous. I think I added a bit of magenta when I was comparing files, and the color turned nicer. Experiement with color till it looks as close to real life as possible and then be creative from that point.
great video... great shots... but... unterm strich brauchts dann doch alle 3 varianten! - und in der regel hat man auch meist alle 3 dabei, bzw muss sie rumschleppen! ;)
Thanks for the video. Actually i am a university professor (and a total vlogging newbie) i am thinking about starting lecture-channel. i am talking about classic whiteboard-style lectures where i would be standing in front of the whiteboard writing and explaining stuff.i intend to shoot these videos at home. i am not looking for very fancy stuff but the footage should be of a decent quality, but mind you i don't need features like anti-shaking, portability, battery life ,,, since the camera would be stationary - what camera do you recommend ? - do i need a separate audio equipment for better audio quality ? what mic do you recommend ? - and how about lighting ? do i need some sort of light source (as i said i am absolutely new to making RUclips videos) as i said, the content must be of decent quality but i don't want to pay a fortune could you recommend some brands and models , just don't make it expensive please thank you so much for the information
Hi! Greetings from India. I am a stepping into wedding cinematography, and have a lot good investment in Nikon Lenses. I tried shooting weddings with my Nikon D750 and Nikon D810 and the quality of the videos is superb! However, the autofocus of these full-frames in video mode sucks. Can you recommend me a good Nikon body for Autofocus during Video mode or it would be better to get a Canon 80D?
2:22 yeah, lol, that's what tends to be the case, I would guess, but I suspect there are exceptions in The Age of Innocence, romantic scenes done with fast camera movements, etc, lol...like any violent Scorsese film, lol...
+Fenchel & Janisch I think you forgot the absolute most versatile filmmaking tool of all time, that being the drone. Apart from it being noisy, it can all the things a Jib,slider and gimbal can do together at the same time
qubeFunGamer Next year I'll be getting my Yeair quadcopter and an extended flight fuel tank will get me 5 hours. I was one of their first backers on kickstarter. So yeah there's that. Also it will carry a payload up to 10+ kg and speeds up to 100km. Try doing that with a jib, slider or Gimbal. Have a nice day P.s. My dji phanthom would be capable of doing a three hours timelapse, it's just that I would miss a couple of shots in the interval of said timelapse due to battery exchange. So there's that as well. GPS on it makes it dead easy to go back to the same spot.
Good point but we only wanted to focus on gear can be used on the ground in this video. Drones are great, no doubt. Another reason we didn't include drones is because of the often complicated legal situation regarding flight permission and safety. We will do a video on drones in the future!
Fenchel & Janisch Thank you for your response, I know all about europe and licenses. The thing is though those licenses are not even a guarantee that the pilots are even able to fly, most European countries ask you to pay a fee for the license and that's it. But great video.

you can mount some handheld stabilizers to mono pods to emulate jib shots.
This makes film making look so much fun
Simon Anderson film making is so much fun :)

Amazing! Your videos have really improved on quality with time, it's very evident.
Nicely done as always. This helped clarify things for me as I am looking to add more movement to my projects (when called for, of course). Thanks!
love your videos too Mr. curtis...
Thanks Zaber
Curtis Judd didn't expect you to be searching up these kind of things too since you are always explaining everything haha.
Doing my research and Fenchel and Janisch are a good source for that. :)
Hey Curtis, I am a little late to the party but I am a big fun.
Hi Guys. Glad to see you back on RUclips with a new video! Thanks for the effort and hard work! You guys rock!
Thank your for the kind words. We will try to publish videos more frequently!
Lover your Instagram feeds too. Thanks so much. I normally travel to Hamburg and Husum, but if I get to Frankfurt, I almost feel I can find my way around your beautiful city because of your videos :) All the best.

1:00 You meant to say unless the person holding it is using a monopod.
My favorite piece of equipment is my glidecam. I can get similar jib shots with a ladder and a glidecam lol. I love that thing
We also got a Glidecam somewhere but don't really use it anymore. It's interesting though to hear that not everyone is falling for gimbals :-)
Fenchel & Janisch I think gimbals are nice but personally i like the look and feel of a glidecam much more than a gimbal. Not saying I will never buy one but stabilizers still have my priority
+Fenchel & Janisch which is easier to use? Glidecam or Gimbal? Learning curve?
Emile van Zeeland Gimbal is easier. Glidecam takes skill.
Chanse I now use my Gopro on Steadicam JR but doubt if I need to buy a Merlin or Gimbal.
Been wondering where you guys have been. I think a steadicam is the most versatile piece of filmmaking tool you can have, but I guess that falls under gimbal.
I wants to buy this tool I can I buy please give me a idea
The intro music moves well with your shots.
Question, is there any value in a jib crane that has pan and tilt that the crane operator can manipulate? Something like a yoke that can pan and tilt and the camera does the same thing on the opposite end of the jib?
Why didn't you mount the handheld gimbal to a jib? And then control it with a remote?
Very nice shots. Can you say me, how did you make the shot at 1:22 min. with the grid?
Great video ! What is the slider brand ? Thank you very useful !
Danke. But you can attach a extension pole to the Gimbal to get higher shots.....
Well you could mount it on a monopod, or jib, or slider ;)
Would you be so kind as to tell me what the music in the intro is? Thanks!
Hey nice Video, Thanks for the Tipps really helpful for Beginners i think so. and yeah can u Tell me wich gear u used so the Name pls :)?
What camera was used to shoot the videos in this one ? is it shoot in a Canon or a Sony ?
Great work. I like the flare on the gimbal section, what is that lens?
How about a gimbal on a jib on a dolly???!!!
I HAVE PROBLEM WITH THE COLOUR CORRECTION CAN YOU HELP ME WITH THAT I HAVE SONY A7R11
lol
sony sucks lol rip
I've compared colors from Sony, Canon and Nikon. Sony is horrendous. I think I added a bit of magenta when I was comparing files, and the color turned nicer. Experiement with color till it looks as close to real life as possible and then be creative from that point.
Welche Kamera würdest du bevorzugen zum filmen und fotografieren, sony alpha a7s2 oder canon 1dxm2?
great video... great shots... but... unterm strich brauchts dann doch alle 3 varianten! - und in der regel hat man auch meist alle 3 dabei, bzw muss sie rumschleppen! ;)
Thanks for the video.

Falled in love😍😍😍
Great video! Keep up the good work dude! I'm thinking about buying a budget Jib and the one you used could be a great option would you recommend it?
Which Xamera do you use
Very interesting video! I can tell that you are using the Sony RX 10 line of camera, could you review it? Thanks
We love the RX10 cameras but we don't have the latest model and don't find any place in Germany that rents it so unfortunately we can't test it.
Sad :(
How much these all tolls costs? Can u plz tell me. I need those for short films.

but also in many European countries you need a license to operate a drone that is not just a toy

subbed good work!
thanks
Too bad that most equipment is ridiculously overpriced
Can you build for less and achieve the same results? Okay, then.
Because the market is too small to make enough profit if they lower to "normal" price...
Kahi se bhi muh uthakar Aao aur ban jao file maker
Majak hai kya.
