Ultimate: I have fire and I am not afraid to burn you alive, isn’t it beautiful tho?

Melee: I think i broke my elbow.
Brawl: Don’t look at me.
4: I told you not to fucking look at me.
Ultimate: Come on my friend, join me with my pose!

Melee: Can the gods help me?
Brawl and 4: Mom can you please hear me? I am praying, so make me viable.
Ultimate: Look mom! I have sparkles and I can draw with them! Thank you for your powers!

Zelda's old victory pose was simply her using her side taunt, now it's a original pose!
Her other one was simply her holding her arm. Was it charming and elegant? Yes, but a terrible pose to do after you just won a battle! And she already does that pose in one of her idle animations, so like the first one mentioned, it was just a copy and paste from a pose she already does during battle.
She also now finally looks happy to have won and that she enjoyed the battle, in the previous 3 games it was as if she was bored and didn't even care she just won.
To be fair, that's OOT and TP Zelda's personality in a nutshell. Their personality is as dull as cardboard. And then there are other Zelda's like the ones in Windwaker, Spirit Tracks, Skyward Sword and BOTW who have tons of character. And considering the design of ALTTP/ALBW, I can picture this Zelda being the cheerful type.

The framing, fluidity, Anticipation and impact of these poses in ultimate are miles above the rest of the series. The improvement is palpable.

Definitely. Not only does Ganondorf actually have his sword in his moveset now, but he's also one of the few characters whose victory poses got overall worse in this game, IMO. They're all just sort of similar and bland. Something involving his sword would have added some flair.

Yeah but the pose is awkward as hell. He looks like he's throwing his backout trying to model on a runway. It kills it for me. Compare that ultimates sheer power and it's night and day.

Yes! I'm not a fan of Melee Peach, her voice was childish and she was a little tomboyish, which doesn't fit her. Now she's sassy, feminine, graceful, much better

Even when their earlier designs looked nearly identical to each other, they were never intended to be the same character. Back in the 90s, I was sad and confused I never got to play as Princess Daisy for one decade. Living without Daisy as a playable character for the 1990s was the worst punishment I had to deal with. Back in the early 90s, we were too young to understand Princess Daisy because we were used to Peach, and we didn't know during that time that Daisy and Peach were different Nintendo princesses. What confused us was Daisy and Peach looking nearly identical to each other in their earlier gaming appearances.

They rendered it in brawl, then re-rendered it for smash wii u but looks a bit cartoony in 3ds
And then they put *SO MUCH DETAIL IN IT* in smash ultimate
They did Zelda SO much justice. Just look at the sass in her eyes!
Peach's "Peachy!" victory pose from the previous Smash games was nice, but the new one from Ultimate with her waving and blowing a kiss is even better!
Her new "This is fun!" pose is also much better than her Smash 4 one, her new, graceful twirl fits her much better than the weird one she did before, and the transition from the twirl to the pose is also less automatic.
Last but not least, her new "Aw, did I win?" pose is better than her previous one, like everyone says, she's even more sarcastic now than she already was.
Steffen the smash 4 “this is fun” victory screen was basically her down taunt but with a kinda choppy pose at the end. Super glad they fixed it and it looks fabulous in the new game

Samantha Kelly's Peach makes me think of Samantha enjoying her Peach role and she adds Peach's sassy attitude. Have you heard of Peach's "Let's go!" in Mario and Sonic 2020? It's the best version of Peach's "Let's go!" I have ever heard.

@@LoliPeeSlurper Comparing Jen Taylor's Peach to Samantha Kelly, I felt like Jen Taylor didn't take Peach voice very seriously and her voice sounded a little bit boyish for Peach. Not only that, Peach didn't sound girly enough despite what Jen Taylor intended to do with that character. Samantha Kelly was the suitable voice for Peach and I can see that Samantha Kelly is having a wonderful time voicing Peach seeing the excellent job she voices her character. Peach is your stereotypical sissy-girl character with the stubborn but cute attitude getting my point across. I find it entertaining how you showed Daisy in second place when you showed Peach's Win Animations in Ultimate.

Nothing beats Mewtwos original laugh from melee. Change my mind.
Mewtwo is one of the few characters who i feel had their peak in victory poses in their debut game. Like yeah the camera work and background are leaps and bounds better in Ultimate, but to me there's just no topping the casual spinning float and sinister laugh of Melee, even right down to how he lets his tail just sort of trail as opposed to the way it's brought upward in the later games.
I agree Ricky. Also, Melee Mewtwo looks the most like the original Red/Blue Mewtwo from the Game Boy.

It’s a bit odd. He’s 19 years old in Star Fox 64, which is the most recent game he appeared when Melee came out. (Though Adventure was being developed.)

And also during Smash Bros Brawl; and Ultimate. And have special taunts if they hit each other with their Final Smash. Wolf says: "I've got you now; Star Fox!" And Fox says: "Playtime's over; Wolf!" But Falco doesn't say anything different if he hits Wolf with his Final Smash though. But Wolf still says "I've got you now; Star Fox!" obviously. It's a nice detail.

I disagree I think the zoom in is pretty badass and fitting of a close ranged sword fighter. You get more of a masculine feel the close you are to him. Plus it helps emphasize the pose instead of it awkward sitting on him just standing like that.

I have to admit that Ganondorf looked like a slow and warn out grumpy old man with his Twilight Princess design. We knew deep down that Ganondorf's Ocarina of Time design was the best Ganondorf. It doesn't help that a lot of people are going to be very familiar with the Ocarina of Time Ganondorf anyway. When Brawl came out, it amazed me how Marth and Ganondorf went the reverse way as Smash Bros. games went on. I'm saying that Marth kept his Melee design in Brawl whereas Ganondorf got a makeover. It was the other way around in Ultimate. Melee and Smash 4 were the only two games that Marth and Ganondorf had classic and new designs respectively.

Some characters get away with it, but I don't know what it is about Smash Ultimates lighting that makes most characters look so off..

Exactly! In my opinion, the only characters that look better in Ultimate when compared to Smash Wii U are Wii Fit Trainer, the Mii Fighters and Peach. (I prefer Palutena's face is Smash Wii U, but I love that she's happier in Ultimate, and Zero Suit Samus looked better in Wii U, but her new "less pretty" face fits her more, since she's a badass warrior, not a supermodel).

And Smash 4 sounds bored, but Ultimate's version sounds alright. I mean, you got nearly 100 characters, of course there's going to be SOME noticeable differences, and compromises, but it doesn't mean Ultimate is bad. Heck, I'd go so far as to say that NONE of the Smash games are any bad. It's all about how you play them, whether you play them alone, or competitively, with or without friends(against the CPU), or just want to see who'd win in a fight, Mario or Ganondorf.

Yeah a lot of the characters that originate from melee are really good. Peach, Pichu, Marth, Roy, Ice Climbers (Potentially), Gannon, etc are all pretty high tier.

i like falco s design in ultimate because he got one victory animation completely different and somehow dabs at the opponent who got defeated because falco feel relly fast in ultimate and in melee brawl smash 4 he feel really slow

If you don’t get it, well here’s the thing.
I just preferred them being the only ones throughout the series where they never got any English voice actors before. Kinda liked it how they just left them like that until Ultimate.
