@Nirmal Mukherjee...... That's only one small part of the story where you have rightly pointed out the present rulers' least headache regarding the sorry state of affairs of NSCBI Airport, Kolkata. Actually, the rot had started in the mid '60s and touched its nadir during the long rule of the leftists as they encouraged violent trade unionism.... which ultimately led to flight of capital i.e industry from W. Bengal. This led to cessation of operations by all big International airline companies from Kolkata. The picture has not changed much as there is no industries worth the name in the entire region.
