Thanks for the updates, add me to the list of the super eager awaiting Triple J's next dyno runs, sorry to see it go after this. And very eager on the 4.6 2v OJ project to come. Smart to get into the "Maud" world, the 4.6 2v is very budget and can make some power. 5.0 windsors (made in Cleveland though) are sort of running less and less in favor.
Good video! Hopefully the dyno will be up before long. As it looks like you are ready to rock n roll with several engines! Cool looking intake for the 4.6 2 valve motor!
I have a 98 AWD Explorer with the gt40P heads. Last vehicles the pushrod 5.0 was used in. It’s actually a fun ride or was, at 300k miles the fuel pump gave out and it’s parked for now. Leaks like a siv but was super reliable. Transmission rebuild at 190k.
You can run a crank trigger and hang a belt-driven crank trigger distributor somewhere off the front of the engine, but it takes up real estate for accessories if you need them.
Good for you on selling the dyno mule. Is your 255 crank, Molnar Chevy rod, super short piston 302 idea still in the future? I'm curious to see what the throttle response might be.
Unpack That intake and look down the runners. The injector boss hangs down in the port. Kind of bad. You may want to clean that up before you start testing.
After O.J. look at a 4v 4.6l. That has always been my favorite modern Ford. Congrats on selling JJjr. I believe alot of 2valve guys us coyote rods in the 4.6l
Brent are you a dealer for cranks and rotating assy? im starting a windsor combo and thought i might pick your brain and buy my components from you, im south of Nashville 50 mins
single plane on a low cubic inch motor with stock cams.... that thing is gonna have the torque of a lawn mower. Maybe being so wide will actually be a good thing in this case.
@@lykinsmotorsports Better overall driveability is not an advantage? Cold starts and warm up suck on a carb compared to a well tuned EFI system. Only downside to EFI besides cost IMO is looks, programing learning curve and a possible slight loss in power output. If it's a race only engine and you like playing with carbs go for it.
Thanks!
Thank you very much.

The intake manifolds are cool looking.
OJ project caught my interest...😎👍

If you could , what brand is balancer and pt no. ?
You've got some great thing's and ideas 💡 going on . Very cool 😎
So looking forward to this 4.6 build with a carb!
Question though:
Is Trick Flow the only option when going to a distributor set up?
Thanks

@@lykinsmotorsportsThanks for the reply!
Thats what i needed to know as accessories would be needed.
Thanks Brent!
It will be great to see the OJ project . This should be good 👍
Looking forward to seeing the power numbers on the dyno mule 302 after head porting. 30 cfm is considerable. Who ported the GT40Ps?
I loved my Trick Flow 4.6 2v top end kit . Sho-Pny
Fyi... Don't forget North Carolina.
I would be willing to chip in a little bit for your project.
Almost got the 311 ready for my ranger project.

Probably not. I do have that crankshaft and would sell it if anyone is interested.
Keep them moving I’ve always liked the look of a 4.6 with a Carburetor kind of like the BOSS 429 / little brother will be interesting..
It would be fitting if OJ's final destination was in a white '93 Ford Bronco!!
LOL
😅
Brent ,looks really cool
Brent, old JJ is looking handsome! I'm gonna miss the little guy, but he will have a happy life out there in his very own engine bay.

How long does it take to fix the damn Dino seems like to me it took way too damn long
They had to replace a lot of parts (shaft broke) and some of them were custom/specialized parts.
Interesting intake manifold.
Is this engine going to be for sale when you are done?

I sell everything you need to build any Ford engine. Hit me up.... brent@lykinsmotorsports.com
Are you going to have Crane port the PI heads or get some cnc ported TFS heads?
Edit- I guess I should have watched the whole video before asking.
Did I miss it, what cam is in it now with the ported heads.
My custom hydraulic roller. Same as last iteration.
@lykinsmotorsports dang missed it, I've got some catch up!
Which valve covers are those on JJJ?
Just your average polished cast aluminum covers. Nothing special.
Weren't going to install a pair of Cleveland trick flow heads on JJ Jr, or am I mixing you up with another channel?
I was.......and sold the heads......
Disappointed that we didn’t get to see what the Cleveland heads would do on this setup.
I have a aluminum fly wheel I’d love to donate if it will help I don’t need it
6 bolt?
@ yea it came from a 3v 4.6 they are the same. If it will help I’ll send it out to you. I want to help

Gotta get it on the dyno one way or the other. Not worried about power right now.
I was expecting J.O.H.C.
You need a rich donor to set you up with a Holley Dominator EFI setup.
No EFI here... There's no advantage to it.

I will always prefer carbs on toys. No advantage to EFI on a toy/dyno mule/race motor. Daily driver is a different story.
Junk + Modular= Junkular
Likey!
GREAT LOOKING ENGINE NEED TO CHECK FOR A SPECIFIC SPECIAL COMBO : SBF: BIG CUBES 460 /464 CI ?
