Having only read about these engines in books before finding your channel it is amazing to not only to see them but see your examples of these. Hard not to be a fan of these. Thank you for sharing.

When I was a senior in High School, our shop built several 454 Ford Tunnelports for a local dirt track racer. He dominated the track and it was a great experience for a High School student. Our motors used 427 side oiler blocks and 428 cranks.

Makes me wonder why Ford didn't build a 450+ cubic inch FE since they had the parts to do it. It would have been a monster in Fairlanes and Mustangs.

I love me some FE. I built me a 445 and fuel injected it and it made 455 tq and 420 hp at 5300. You just can't beat them. Oh that's at the rear tires. Thanks Brent.

Dear Brent, ignore the trolls . You are my go to source for Ford and FE build stuff. I own a 68 GT500KR with original 428 CJ, 4 speed. It’s sports the factory cast exhaust manifolds due to originality requirements. I considered you my Ford Guru so please ignore the chirping fools. They do not represent your audience. I’m hoping to consult with you in the future for my engine freshen up next year. Please be assured the silent majority value your knowledge. I personally enjoy the matter of fact delivery without annoying background music and fluff. You do you cause it works !!!!

You make those engines a piece of art and very strong running, makes me wonder why more people don't use them, they are awesome and they are very powerful, have one on a stand but I don't know what size it is, thinking about putting it in a 93 Explorer 4+4 ,it has a stock four barrel holly carb and the driver side head has c4ae and the passenger side has like 6-7 digits in an oval and there are no numbers on the block except for WX under the oil filter adapter, pulled one valve cover and noticed how short the push rods are,bet that is good for stiffness at high RPM, it's got to come apart because rain water got in it, so I guess I'll measure the bore and stroke when I get it apart, thanks for the knowledge and have a great evening

Be VERY careful around sodium cooled exh. valves, like a full coverage faceshield. I used to assist in overhaul of Wright radial acft. engines & the O/H manual was very clear about disposing these valves in DEEP water. Sort of the lithium ion battery situation of the 1960 era.
