Amazing Australian Drama series. Twist and turns everywhere. Keeps you interested all the way through to the end. Well done.

If you don't fall asleep first. The writers are working hard on trying to get you to feel the emotional dribble. I am not upset with the story but the pacing is SOOO Slow. I am one of those people who wants the writers to get to point. Instead they halt the investigation and go on some emotional journey that I have to fast forward. When that happens they have lost my

Great review and I did enjoy Black Snow, I think the niece is emotionally invested because of the cultural connection she feels , our family’s (indigenous Australians) keep people remembered through stories… a lot. Maybe because the mum is away so much as well. Again loved the review and definitely worth a follow 👍🏾

I really liked Black Snow, there was a couple of minor editing issues that I picked up on, and i never even noticed anything about the nieces father until it was revealed.

I think it's worth a second series, if they can get Fimmel again. They've left a clear backstory for him to follow up on. You can overdo that sort of thing, let the private life story swamp the official plot, but I think it didn't get out of hand. I suspect that to outsiders, the series may leave the false impression that Blackbirding is still a thing. Illegal workers is a thing but that's different. I was a bit confused about whether some of the characters were aboriginal or descendants of the original islanders who were exploited in the cane fields. Perhaps it doesn't matter.

I completely agree about the niece being way too emotionally invested; more than her own mother and grandparents, considering she never met her. I also had a problem, as someone who was actually a teen in the 90s, with the anachronistic 2022 slang constantly used by the 90s teens. Slang which we were not using then, because it was not even invented yet, eg, “stalker much?”, “seriously”? in the form of a sarcastic question… we did not talk like this back then… because these slangs simply didn’t exist at the time. Great review, and I’m with you; aside from a few nit-picky things, it was solid. I must add I sadly thought it was a bit too “white savior guilt” as a plot choice, to make *all* the white characters either pure evil or pretty despicable, with all the non-white actors heroic & noble. It would’ve had more legitimacy had the entire production team been South Sea Islanders themselves. No spoilers but there was one female white character who was made to be the nastiest, most despicable biyotch, and another meant to be a white trash drug addict, when NEITHER characterization had anything whatsoever to do with the plot or story. As a white woman I found this highly offensive.

The killer felt pretty obvious is the main problem I have.

I mean the friends father was a cheating grapist , so at first thought him , then the father of the real killer being sketchy and threatening everyone , the boyfriend trying his hardest to find the killer , the niece of the father and the bf who had assault and many other charges and the illegal brothers being chased by the guy on the bike , the missing and dead brother of the indigenous bloke who we find faked his disappearance to leave with another woman who he married , knew the truth aswell 😂there was a lot going on
