- No Air Flow from Blower Motor on my G-BODY HVAC system...I went thru the entire system replacing components such as the blower motor resistor, blower motor hi flow relay, Blower selector switch, etc ONLY to find out there was a disconnected cable coming from the cigarette lighter harness 🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️

I just got home from work and had to take my dash out but I found the plug and it works 💯💯 thanks again bro. It must be common but my vent door is sealed shut too

Dam you just helped me out. I just changed my blower motor and resistor and that didn’t fix the problem plus my cigarette lighter stopped working lol thank you for this video 👍🏾👍🏾

Hopefully you find the issue...also there's a harness under the hood I forget the name of it but it has 4 wires...2 green, 1 red and 1 black...if that's not connected then it won't blow either

Appreciate the content bro! I was having the same issue but my solution was different from yours. One of the connectors on my blower motor was corroded. I hit it with some wd40 ( thats all i had on hand) and a fine piece of sand paper, put the plug back on and it kicked on immediately!

Thank you so much for this video! My wife has a 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass G Body with no a/c and we live in Florida. She thinks that the blower motor is working because she can feel air coming in through the defrost vents. However, there is no fan blowing either. So this will help in diagnosing the problem, as we are the 8th owner of this vehicle. Also, even though I know this is unrelated, I got to laugh at the Walmart battery. I've had some auto store mechanics try and slick talk me into buying their more expensive batteries by downing the batteries from Walmart.There are only about three battery manufacturers that mass produce car batteries for every retailer in the U.S. When I had to get a new battery for the Oldsmobile, it still was under warranty from Auto Zone. However, the three guys working there, plus the one on the phone, had tried to con me into believing that the date on the battery was not the date it was filled, but the sell by date.

I went relay, resistor then i found my problem, its in the switch i believe, i pulled the back off my switch and the pin all the way to the right is burnt looking, i have a few spare switchs im gonna try, man that's a bitch that's unplugged, worse thing about OBC's is every one done been in the dash fuckin shit up, i have a 93 s10 and it pretty much the same as G body on hvac, good video brother!! Hopefully i fix my shit today, getting cold out

Thank you. I was having the same problem with my 92 cutlass ciera. My actuator/blend door was stuck. How did you get it to stay open?
No problem…I honestly just kept it propped open with a small box until I was able to hook up the vacuum lines to make it open and close as it should

What you do to make your blower blow on high I can only get it to blow on medium and low changed out the relay switch for high speed blower didn’t fix.
It was the relay but it could be the AC harness under the hood…it’s a 4 plug harness (1 red, 1 black, and 2 green wires)
You starting to sound like me when I found out about the wire for my horn not working it was just sitting there like the wire you was elaborating for your A/C not working it just seem like the more you dig into your car the more unusual things you find lol

I am one of those that has the Vents blowing only from the Top on my 81' Malibu. Does anyone know how I can remove the Double Vents from the center of the dash? I could get to that HVAC door easier if I can get to it. Great Video, informative in many ways. Thanks.

@@87SSBOI Okay, I saw a video on someone doing an El Camino, that center panel pops off the same way. But like you, I have to "Prop" that flap open just to get the air blowing in the Center, that is after I trimmed some of the Rubber off of it, it's like the Rubber was melted on the front caused the flap to stick. Anyway I am going to assume that the center not functioning is because I don't have the A/C System setup on this car yet. Other Modes like Vent, Heater, Bi, and Normal seems to circulate from the top and bottom according to HVAC system diagrams.
@@nogarage4473 yea and there’s 2 vacuum lines under the hood that controls those doors..if I remember correctly they are purple and grey

That happened to a civic I bought they said ac didn't work I removed the radio and ac unit and found a plug just like that disconnected I was like wtf plugged it in and ac worked like a new car. Strange who would disconnect something like that maybe a shady shop

So u can hear the blower motor spinning but u don’t feel any air? Do u check to see if there’s air flow out the floor or the defrost?
Man I did everything u did before I seen your video all my stuff new and still no power at all to my control just dims my gauges all when. I turn the switch on 🤔
Check the A/C harness…it has 4 wires (1 dark green, 1 light green, 1 red and 1 black)…it may not connected or burnt out

@87SSBOI found it. Got it working. Was the connector. I just scotch locked a jumper wire in it for now. Not much room to get to it. But it's still not working on high.
@@jnstrcklndgood u got it working…if fan doesn’t work on high then it’s most likely your Blower Motor relay…I mentioned it in the vid as well..only about $15
@87SSBOI it was the relay. High working now. But another problem now. Selector not switching to defrost. Only blowing out vents.

all your vacuum lines are disconnected from your control the doors will never work properly until you fix that also looks like your vacuum bubble is missing under the hood you will have to fix that too
Good catch!!..my old headers melted the ball but the main focus in this vid was to get the air flow coming out the dash vs defrost and figure out why the blower motor wasn't coming on...1 thing at a time to get to the ultimate goal🦾💯

Vacuum lines under the hood.. there’s 2 of them I think purple and grey if I remember correctly
@@87SSBOI I see the 2 lines under the hood… so do I pull vacuum from the intake? Or can I pull it from the carb?
@@dgilton87I The purple line goes to the vacuum ball, the grey line goes to the heater valve. Attach a vacuum line from the carb to the vacuum ball, it should open when switched to vent

Yea there's one more cable you can check under the hood...it has 4 wires going into it...2 red, 1 black and 1 green...if it's damaged or not plugged in that it won't work
Also, did u check the cable inside behind the radio that I found out was my issue?
Your servo motor might not be working properly why the door not open

@@87SSBOI mines isn’t coming on at all I check to make sure that brown wire was connected which it was. Then I went to the blower motor when I ran a wire to the battery the blower motor still didn’t come on. So I ended up running both a power and ground to the battery the blower came on. But so must not be connected I’m getting no power at all through the purple power wire and looks to be that I’m not getting a ground either this thing is a headache lol

@@87SSBOI Finally figured it out Bro it was the blend door pivot lever arm that broke and that’s why it was blowing hot I bought a blower control switch changed the relay and the resistor plus put a new blower motor .The only thing is it won’t work on the highest level. I put a wire strap on the door to keep it blowing towards me but it’s blowing super cold now I appreciate you and that video keep doing your thing my brother you’re helping ppl like me out 💯🙏🏼❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
