When I say so because it is a place with perfect weather all four seasons The land is so reach and generous You find desert mountain coast almost all types of nature in it A diverse country everybody used to live happily in it . Finally found someone from Antigua I am from Wadi al-Nasara. Here all our Christian sons go to Antigua, especially the village I am from, where the Syrians went there in the sixties and before that. First time I see people in another country eat that seaweed. In Greece we call it kritamo. Syrians basically eat the exact same things as us. only with more tahini :D 🇬🇷❤🇸🇾
There is a lot of civilization and things in common between the Syrian and Greek coastal cities, because at one time in the past they were part of great Greece. Latakia is my city and I am proud that it has some things in common with the Greeks and Italians
Just some similarities between Greece and Syria Let's take a look. Greece's religion is Orthodox Christian. That started in the Levant and most Christians in the Levant are Orthodox (many Greek Orthodox like me). The religion of Ancient Greece has a lot of Levantine influence, like Cadmus is the son of Phoenician King Agenor. It is said Cadmus brought the Phoenician Alphabet (from modern day Lebanon, Syria, Palestine) to Greece, you can see both Alphabets (Phoenician and Ancient Greek) are incredibly similar. They make Olive oil soap. The Levant is famous for Nabulsi and Aleppo olive oil soap. The word for soap is the same in both Arabic and Greek (sabuneh). They drink Ouzo. We drink Araq. They have their own variation of the dabke. A lot of there diet is the same, dolma and yabrak, baklava, halawi, halloumi, shawarma, etc. The Oud is popular in both regions. As is Backgammon. In Syria there is a place called Amrit. They have a stadium the exact size of Olympia, but Amrit is estimated to be 800-1000 years older. Something similar to the Olympic games started in Syria and this is a big part of Greek culture. There are also Ancient Greek and Byzantine structures everywhere in the Levant, like the Norias in Hama. Eastern Rome lasted till 1400's, so some of us share DNA on top of culture as well.

I cant sleep more than 1-3 hours per night since almost a year, the man I love is ignoring me since 3 weeks, my younger brother is close to commit suicide, and I just cant find much joy and sense of living. You find desert mountain coast almost all types of nature in it
A diverse country everybody used to live happily in it . The food is so amazing

Finally found someone from Antigua
I am from Wadi al-Nasara. Here all our Christian sons go to Antigua, especially the village I am from, where the Syrians went there in the sixties and before that. Unfortunately, a murder occurred about a year ago in Antigua of a young man named Rudy who was my neighbor in Syria.
Therefore, I want to know what the people in Antigua think about the Syrians and some information about the Syrian community in Antigua

First time I see people in another country eat that seaweed.
In Greece we call it kritamo.
Syrians basically eat the exact same things as us. only with more tahini :D

There is a lot of civilization and things in common between the Syrian and Greek coastal cities, because at one time in the past they were part of great Greece. Latakia is my city and I am proud that it has some things in common with the Greeks and Italians
Just some similarities between Greece and Syria
Let's take a look.
Greece's religion is Orthodox Christian. That started in the Levant and most Christians in the Levant are Orthodox (many Greek Orthodox like me). The religion of Ancient Greece has a lot of Levantine influence, like Cadmus is the son of Phoenician King Agenor. It is said Cadmus brought the Phoenician Alphabet (from modern day Lebanon, Syria, Palestine) to Greece, you can see both Alphabets (Phoenician and Ancient Greek) are incredibly similar.
They make Olive oil soap. The Levant is famous for Nabulsi and Aleppo olive oil soap. The word for soap is the same in both Arabic and Greek (sabuneh).
They drink Ouzo. We drink Araq.
They have their own variation of the dabke.
A lot of there diet is the same, dolma and yabrak, baklava, halawi, halloumi, shawarma, etc.
The Oud is popular in both regions. As is Backgammon.
In Syria there is a place called Amrit. They have a stadium the exact size of Olympia, but Amrit is estimated to be 800-1000 years older. Something similar to the Olympic games started in Syria and this is a big part of Greek culture. There are also Ancient Greek and Byzantine structures everywhere in the Levant, like the Norias in Hama.
Eastern Rome lasted till 1400's, so some of us share DNA on top of culture as well.

For me, life is right now really bad. I cant sleep more than 1-3 hours per night since almost a year, the man I love is ignoring me since 3 weeks, my younger brother is close to commit suicide, and I just cant find much joy and sense of living. My wonderful mother is luckily still alive, so for her sake, I dont leave this world.

Hey life is very tough sometimes ask us Syrians millions of us lost their families, houses, business, friends and homeland in less than one year.. Don't give up let your difficulties teach you not break you and you will see the happiness with simple things

They said my father road a camel, wore a turban, and lived in the desert. Then I visited Latakia, and my eyes were opened to every kind of beach you could imagine. So beautiful out there.
