I have died twice and ain’t gone yet so anything is possible In my eyes! I was hit on a motorcycle head on 55mph and survived with 16 broke bones! Years later I was in a high speed crash with a friend truck hit a ditch doing 85mpg and flipped end over end and landed on a fellow friends blazer coming the other way killing him! My friend that was driving shot himself a few years later! It’s been a ride!

My friends uncle, my friend and his girlfriens and I all avoided tragedy the same way. We all missed our transportation. My friends Uncle missed the train from CT on 9/11/2001 and that saved him. My friend and his girl avoid tragedy in Paris because the taxi they were in showed up late. They never got the the concert as the shooting had already started. I was supposed to go to Jacksonville in 2018 for the Madden tournament but at first decided not to go. Last second i changed my mine, but missed ths flight by 15 minutes prompting me to go home. Then i saw the tragedy. Safe to say it's eerie that sometimes being late can save your life

Ummm, you guys should learn what the word "battleship" means. It's a term for a specific type of warship, in general it's the biggest thing afloat with guns except for aircraft carriers. When you load a couple of popguns on an ocean liner, you get what they called an "armed merchant cruiser" or maybe even an "auxiliary cruiser" or as the British called them "Q-ships" (particularly if their identity and guns were hidden). Other than that, great story about the Battle of the Carmanias - never heard of that one.

On STS-27, Space Shuttle Atlantis was struck by insulating material that fell off one of the SRBs, causing damage to a heat shield tile. About two decades later, on STS-107, insulating material fell off the external fuel tank (EFT) and damaged a heat shield tile on Space Shuttle Columbia, which subsequently burned up on re-entry.

When I was young, I saw a photo of Marilyn Monroe and I asked my father isn't that mom? My dad laughed and told me no, that's Marilyn Monroe. I asked him don't you think she looks like mom. He said yes she does. Many years later, I got called to inspect a house for pre inspection for remodel. I looked through and told the owner this house is very depressing, anything you do will be an improvement. The owner asked me "you don't know whose house this was do you " I told him no I don't. He then said "Marilyn Monroe died in that bedroom"

As for personal coincidences, my Dad's side of the family like to joke that getting hit by a car runs in the family. My father, myself, my nephew, my brother, and my cousin were all hit by cars at one point in our lives. Every one of us survived.

My grandfather died in WWI and is buried in the Presidio Military Cemetery overlooking San Francisco Bay. He was only 26 and his baby girl, my Mom, had just recently been born. My great-great- grandfather fought on the Union side in the Iowa Infantry as a medic in the Civil War. I had ancestors who fought in the American Revolution. Shame on Donald Trump and J. D. Vance saying Walz had "stolen valor". From a rich man who dodged the draft during Vietnam by claiming bone spurs.
One to me would be R&B singer Aaliyah dying in a plane crash 3 weeks before 9/11. When all of that happened back to back. It was like, WTF is going on? I was 11 years old at the time, so I definitely didn't understand the situation with planes. And terrorists attacking us.

Ummm, you guys should learn what the word "battleship" means. It's a term for a specific type of warship, in general it's the biggest thing afloat with guns except for aircraft carriers. When you load a couple of popguns on an ocean liner, you get what they called an "armed merchant cruiser" or maybe even an "auxiliary cruiser" or as the British called them "Q-ships" (particularly if their identity and guns were hidden). Other than that, great story about the Battle of the Carmanias - never heard of that one.
