I am from northern Norway but live in Oslo. I drive north by car about every 2 - 3 years. Something that never ceases to amaze me is that in Oslo it gets dark in the evening at around 10:00. But after only 1,500 km by car, it's bright all night. You get a sense of how small the earth actually is when 18 hours in a car can change the rhythm of the day so drastically.
the stairs are made by himalayan sherpas, they hire several sherpas for the seasons to build these kinds of stairs around in Norway... these are paid well and make quite abit of money to take back to their village.
Beautiful little film - I love how the island kind of got into you and you just seemed changed and amazed. What wonderful memories you have recorded for yourselves, as well as us.
The steps are laid manually by workers from a small village in Tibet. A Norwegian contractor employee 10-20 workers from the same village every year to build pathts in popular hard to get to turist spots. :)
Actually the government hire them to lay those steps, as the sherpas are amazing climbers and they are in incredible shape. They get paid roughly 20,000 Euro for two and a half months work each.
@@Proskater134 It's a Geirr Vetti of Stibyggjaren AS that employ the Sherpas and are contracted by local or national goverment to upgrade hard to get tourist spots. There are several RUclips films of the work they carry out.
Lived in Norway my entire life, but first visited Lofoten Islands last summer. We are blessed with some nice nature in this country, but I was blown away by the lofoten islands. We got the same weather as you guys at Reinebringen and Ramberg beach as well. Now I just need to sort of my finances and buy myself a campervan as well. saw a few of your videos allready. Keep up the good work
Can just tell from listening to you how overwhelmed you both are by the sheer beauty of your present stay. That hike was certainly worth the climb for the views and once again the entire video and footage is stunning....🚐👏👏☘
Drone footage was beautiful what a place!! Loads of people will never get to visit there to see the views, so thank you for your work...xx Rosemary in Belfast.
I've moved to watching your Norway videos on my telly. Need the biggest possible screen to do it justice - what a stunning country, the only place I've been like it is the Alps, but no seascapes or beaches there! You will surely remember this trip forever 🔥
Wow what a place, watch most of your videos and there amazing, but that has to be best place I’ve seen, thanks for keeping us entertained your amazing couple 👍❤️
They did, swimming in the artic ocean in a caribbean landscape. Yes, one of the beautifullest landscape I've ever been. Many thanks for your drone shots Tom. Unfortunately I was never been in such conditions for those 16.. steps. r u hooked now by the norge virus ? A mate who never had any relation to the nature told me after his short trip to Norway: you are always curious what to see avter the next curve on the road and you will never be disappointed. I am sure such impressions will never get out of your memory.
I miss my time in Norway. Catching enough snowflakes to make a snowball in December, cycling on empty roads at midnight in June/July! Have fun you two.
I live in northen part of Norway. Not far from Bodø. We have the midnight sun from end of may to almost all of july. Even if i'm used to it,i'll think it is breathtaking every summer. 🥰😎
On Otrøya, outside Molde there's a 2200step staircase... And both these staircases and many others here in Norway were built by Tibetan Sherpas. And they love working here. In just a few months they earn more than they could hope for in a year, without the danger of climbing Mt. Everest. And they consider the work 'easy'... Incidentally, if you visit Galdhøpiggen, Norways highest mountain, you might find Dawa Chhiri, one of the more famous Sherpas working as a guide. Remember, the more Sherpas that can find well-paying work outside Tibet, the fewer has to risk their lives guiding people with no common sense or climbing experience up Mt. Everest.
Thanks 4 that info, I was wondering abt that looking at d prayer flags at d bottom of stairs. One correction though...Everest & most other 8k+ high peaks r in Nepal not Tibet also, Sherpa people mostly live in d Himalayan regions of Nepal & India.
In the summer you sleep little, in the winter you sleep more. Don't waste the summer light. Don't make the bedroom to dark, you will sleep away the light.
Stunning place. The view from the mountain top reminded me of rio de janeiro . Credit to you guys . You just go for it. You do not let anything hold you back. I would love to take time out . Unfortunately i have to much on my plate for this life style. But it’s nice to see someone else showing us what we are missing. Safe journeys.
What an incredible day and experience. This is my fav of all the vids you have done. Tom, you will treasure those incredible drone shots always and forever!
If I'm not mistaken those steps were built by Nepalese sherpas, as Norway has hired them for over a decade by now to build paths all over Norway, there was even a documentary about it in Norway: "Sherpas - the ones building our paths". For 3 months work in Norway they earn the same as 30 years of work in Nepal, and Norway also builds Buddhist temples for them so they're more comfortable the months they are here.
Sherpas first began working in Norway in 2000 and have built paths and stairways in over 100 different Norwegian locations. Much of their work has been filmed by a documentary team from national broadcaster NRK, who interviewed a number of the Nepalese mountaineers. Sherpas come from a small area of the Himalayan mountain range near Mount Everest - and traditionally from a specific village - and live their entire lives at high altitude, training from an early age the ability to lift and carry heavy objects on their backs.
beautiful and amazing. No wonder you are both awestruck. What an adventure you are having. Bet you are soò glad you turned left in Denmark and decided to travel through Norway. Great to betaken along with you, thank you for all your effort in posting daily vlogs. Much appreciated xx
Thank you for promoting the country, witch I lived in for 33 years now, so amazingly well. You to are adorable 🥰. Keep it up and enjoy your time with each other, and stay safe. ❤️
Hi! We just stumbled upon your channel a couple days ago, since we are accompanying a pair of swedish irish-playing musicians on a ten day tour in Ireland, leaving Sweden 2 of july. You have a great channel and your positivity is inspiring. Now I just wanted you to know about the motorhome place "Raften", a highlight on our motorhome Lofoten trip back in 2018. Showers, toilets, fresh water, beautiful scenery and the "Hurtigruten" passing by. Almost camping standard! Cant remember if there were any washingmachines though... As for us, We´ll be looking forward to visiting a lot of pubs in Ireland in a few weeks! Stay safe!
Wasn't it so that the walking path up Reinebringen was quite slippery and dangerous in upper parts before the stone steps were laid down? Certainly looks like a good idea to get them there. On the other hand it attracts larger crowds. Hardly seen so many people on a mountain path before in Norway, the space up there isn't exactly very large..

If you hover your mouse over 8:57 on the time bar, it says "Most replayed". What can everyone be looking at?

Those drone views were out of this world and looking like a painting. Simply wonderful. And that beach? Wow!
Izzy looks like she belongs in Norway 🧡🖤🥰😍🤘
You could watch the film _Insomnia_ -- either the original or the Holywood remake -- which is about losing the sense of time in Northern Norway.
Perhaps I’ve gone mad but this song goes around in my head!
We’re lost in transit,
Feel so alive
I quit my nine to five
We’re lost in transit.
... now THATS an artic plunge 😉

Some stunning video here; any moose yet? (know you're 'veggies', but they taste great!).
1,600 steps! I'm about to have a heart attack...
O my God, the view from the mountain top is absolutely magnificent.😲👍😊💙

That beach though 😯... that is the *Arctic Ocean* you're swimming in?
It's the Norwegian Sea - the arctic ocean is much further north - around the north pole, and nowhere near Norway's mainland.
Enjoying these vlogs every day.
WOW. Just WOW. Brilliant video.
best drone footage I've seen....many thanks!
Thank you for promoting the country, witch I lived in for 33 years now, so amazingly well. You to are adorable 🥰. Keep it up and enjoy your time with each other, and stay safe. ❤️
As an English man living in Norway, the love you guys show for seeing the country is great :D keep it up, new subscriber

Truly fascinating & Beautiful, Thank you 🙏🏼 👏👏👏☘️
Not a fan of those tourist-trap places where you have to stand in line. Much better further north where you also see untouched mountain peaks
So much fun it's nice to see
So beautiful place .
This episode is brilliant! Thanks for your hard work documenting it & just for being you!
Love that you are visiting my home area :)
Great video guy's and amazing view's I think that I would need oxygen halfway up ❤

I’m so glad I “found” In Transit!❤️
What an amazing place ! Top notch job on capturing it on video.

Is .... where did your vertigo disappear? Amazing on that spine of precipice after stair climb/hike? Be careful 😂🤣😅👍🏻
Lofoten is fantastic when the weather is good. Sadly you can not expect the weather to be this good every day.
