There are plenty of premade "crackle" paints out there that can recreate that effect, but if you don't want to spend a lot on it you can recreate it with any type of paint and some pva glue. Basically you want the bottom layer already painted and dry with the color you want to see underneath (for example brown for wood), then brushing on the pva followed by the top layer of paint on top while the pva isn't dry yet, as the pva shrinks when drying you will obtain a great "chipped paint" effect, but this can also be applied for creating cracked earth terrain textures, lava and more. Thicker concentrations of pva will make bigger chips while thinner (slightly watered down pva works too) will get much smaller chips, which is perfect for scale models.
I just started painting this year and my second ever project was the Wizkids "Orc on Direwolf" Nulzurs model. I love him like a child and now I'm thinking he needs a warband.
I like both formats. If this way allows you more free time or for you to make more videos that is a plus offcourse but just make it the way that makes you happy
Great video I got this set for £8 as my 1st painting project you have really helped me work out where the leather and metallic silver go on the models also given me help on other parts I was scratching my head with, thank you!
Enjoying this style. Definitely prefer it when you're the focus of the video. 😀 really enjoy your videos. Would you mind if I linked to your videos on my store site?
Great build. A little tip, if you want your units to look like a group, giving them all the exact same colors is fine. But If you want them to look more diverse, try adding one unique color to each model, even if it's just a minor detail. Will go a long way to make them seem unique
Nice video as usual 😉 I do like the "new format" : sounds more "live" 😃 I guess you should add a little yellowish-green dry brush on the orcs skin, don't you think ? 🤔 Regards from France
It's like you're reviewing your own video haha. Since you have the skills to do it, it's great, it feels more natural and spontaneous, it's pretty engaging, well done ! It's harder to comment live for sure, it's a nice trade of skill for time !
Please SHARE where possible and let me know what you think of me doing videos this way =)
looks great! The partial arena background is perfect :-)
Thank you so much, Ive missed painting orcs or orks 🙂
I like this format. It's nice to see your face and it's an opportunity for extra waffling. The arena looks great and I love the cracked paint.
yup certainly more waffling, especially when I have a brain fart lol 🙂

Man, you lucked out with that reaction of the wash on the arena wall paint - that works PERFECTLY!!! Like aged plaster or something! :)
Yup it was a great Bob Ross moment 🙂

Cheers, it was a fun way to do it as I will likely waffle more and you will see some mistakes in what I say as well as me having a brain fart lol 🙂

great format it really add to the video! and also great diorama
Honestly good stuff, maybe for the voice over have a post-it with the highlights to talk about. Really crazy reaction between the pants and wash.
I was gonna have some notes but then thought it might be funnier if I just stumble my way through lol 🙂
I like this format!
Really enjoying your content 😌
Thank you so much 🙂
Love the more loose format, and if it's easier on your end, it's a win-win for all!
Cheers, yup it was fun 🙂
I like both ways of the videos, good work
Cheers 🙂
Magnificent diorama Orc Gladiators and I like the new voice over Jon
Thank you so much, yup who doesnt like Orc Gladiators 🙂

Yup quite agree, a little difference in their skin would have made them look a little more realistic 🙂
Nice video as usual 😉

Thank you, it did feel like I was watching it with you guys, yup I do need to do more dry brushing to finish off my figures, maybe next time 🙂

This style is different I can go either way, whatever works for you good sir. Those frameworks kits do look very good.
Cheers, I am liking the frameworks and loving all the spare bits I now have 🙂
I really enjoyed the video very entertaining
Thank you 🙂
I really appreciate your video. The discord link not work
Thank you, I will take a look at it 🙂
Tamiya super thin glue is your friend.
Please please please get a cheap pack of big synthetic brushes, it pains me to see you use such small brunches on dioramas
Haha, I have just received some larger brushes so hopefully you will be pain free 🙂
As gorgeous as your face is, to me, it distracts from what you are doing. I’m mostly of a No Talking video watcher. But I like your work.
Haha cheers, you may need new glasses but I know what you mean 🙂
@@MiniatureHobbyist 😂 don’t be silly. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Orks Rule!!
