The thing that l don't understand when people compare tsla to other car companies they forget Tesla does have the dealership, parts and Union hang over that most other car companies are dealing with. So cost for TSLA are much lower. I believe that earnings will miss but not as bad as people are predicting. I note that robo tax is not the thing that interest me about Tesla, but it is the android they are building behind the scene. Tesla will be higher l believe two or three years from now and the 100 140 will seem cheap, but l waiting until l see everything on the earnings call and go from there

Still think Tesla is overvalued, but I’m surprised EV sales aren’t more robust given the price of oil. There are too many things that need to go right for this to be a good investment to buy in now. Hard to believe we touched $400 in 2021.
So many things worked in its favor during the pandemic. Those unprecedented circumstances are not sustainable.

If you don't know why you got in, where you are going to get out (both profit taking or a loss) you are gambling. No one looking at anything is going to help. I recommend you learn how to trade. Start with money / risk managment and then learn set ups. You only need 1 or 2 that work for your personality. I fear that the set it and forget it 401k passive investors are about to get their faces ripped off.

nope - you are only down when you sell - close your app for the next year and you will see how good your today's decision not to sell was. Keep in mind: You have not shares in a company, which is bankrupt in a year. This is Tesla, like Amazon, Facebook or Apple. Keep the shares and wait. :) Emotions are the devel of the stock market, like your current emotions.

I think you should hold. If there’s any positive news about full self driving and new products, the stock could soar. But it depends on how patient you are as this could be years away from happening at this point.
U could always buy protective puts
You should have a rule in place to cut losses early. We all make this mistake ... 8% down from your entry, don't average down on a failing buy, don't get a big position if it is money you cannot afford to lose. These rules will save you months of pain. It might hurt to sell at a 900USD loss but yes, you probably should. To make your money back on this stock will likely take years. Just cut it off now before it is worse, and find a much sounder investment to put the remaining money into which is likely to grow your capital far quicker.

Only if you can't afford to lose the money. In my opinion, TSLA is a long hold, you might not see profit for awhile, but when TSLA delivers, you will kill to get back in at $170

Have owned a Model 3 since Feb 2020. My issue with TSLA is the range is really nowhere near what is advertised and they have no solution when pressed. Real world range is 160 miles vs 230 rated. (19" wheels) I would be in the market for a new car but would not consider a new Tesla because of range issues. Car has been very relieble, 1st service was last week for upper control arm. While in service, no sales person made any attempt to sell me or demonstrate a new vehicle, they sat at the sales desk and waited for walk ins. I think they are missing an opportunity here for sales. Still rolling on OEM tires at 62K miles. Rotate every 5000 miles.
Batteries health depend on ambient temperature. Cold is better.
I just wonder what version of Model 3 you have. I had a Model 3 Long Range for close to 5 years. I could easily get 270 Miles in the summer months. I just upgraded now to the new Model 3 RWD 2024 Highland version. With a smaller battery it can do moderate highways speed, 270 Miles with a smaller 60 kWh LFP battery. If you compare real world efficiently with other EV's, it show better efficiency then any other EV's on the market.

People would rather have a PHEV, it makes more sense at this time until the infrastructure can be built out for all EVs, then it’s a game changer and Teslas will be history because there’s only 2 models worth anything and who has the money to buy these expensive EVs. Beyond the Tesla warranty will bankrupt people because they are stealing repair costs from people taking advantage of blue collar workers. My advice buy a PHEV if you want an EV without range anxiety.
What are they gonna tell investors in regard to Robo taxis that’s positive? They can’t even manage their flawed auto pilot on the regular cars. It’s not gonna be good. In my opinion.

Without government support, the EV industry is not likely to grow.
If there is a new president the EV will not only get no support but it will put up stumbling blocks in favor of big oil to get away from EV’s. If there is a change I will take profits and wait for an EV friendly administration before taking a long term position.

You are gambling. Go to Vegas. Good traders and investors know what got them in, what is going to get them out and the max amount of money they will lose if they are wrong. No one can help you with this. You have to do the work.

Problem is that people remember them promising a car for 25k which is what everyone assumed would have happened by now and they could not do it. Maybe they will re invent themselves, for now that is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar in the future. Robotaxi for example need insanely detailed maps to function. Here in Europe it will take decades for them to take off, if ever. Ciao ciao Tesla

Tesla Autopilot doesn’t need detailed maps. It is totally different technology compared to Cruise and Waymo that are based on maps high definition data. AI computers learns from drivers. The recorded Video’s drives are send back to AI computer’s in Tesla. In Europe autopilot will learn from the local streets info and local rules.

Net income was $1100 million for the first trimester 2024. This is 55% lower than 1st trimester 2023.
Revenue fell 9% to $21300 million, reflecting a decline in vehicle prices and quantity of deliveries.
I shorted Tesla in july 2023 and collected gains April 15th, 2024.
Tesla shares are trading at 164 dollars in Tuesday, April 23, 19:00 hours, Texas time.
Tesla has bigger profits margin than BYD, despite Tesla selling less EVs in 1st quarter 2024.

We are in an economic expansion with hundreds of thousands of jobs being added monthly. Imagine the drop in sales during a recession when jobs are being cut.

Are those added jobs full-time jobs, though? As I've understood it, poeple are loosing full-time jobs, and the reason part-time jobs are increasing is because people need to work more than one job to pay the bills.

The 'actual' revenue difference is actually lower than pre-pandemic: negative 3.7%; and we all know that inflation is the highest it's been, when adjusted for time, for 40 years. So not only are people earning less, everything is more expensive; and interest rates are soaring so people can't take out debt to buy things. You also have to understand that, of course EV demand has fallen since pandemic times, but that's only because demand was inflated during that time. Are you telling me that you think 20 years from now the majority of people will still be driving gas cars? I really respect your analysis on stocks, you know way more than I do, but I can't wrap my head around your bearish outlook on EVs, and I respectfully believe that you are only paying attention to the near future as opposed to the big picture. Not to mention, TSLA is not just a car company - it is the leading EV company, it is eons ahead of other AI/FSD companies due to it's expansive data over several years, and it is a renewable energy company. It is also a relatively young company that has quickly become the leader in several industries; how can you compare TSLA to GM, Stellantis, and any other poorly run automobile company? Note that not too long ago, GM and Ford had to be bailed out by the US government.

That is one of the principal problems with TSLA - the social media HYPE obviously paid for by TSLA. The BRAND is becoming more hype than reality when all they say is coming next do not materialize. TSLA looks more and more like the value of an automaker than an energy company they claim to be. AI, Robotics, Self-driving cabs, the new TSLA telephone, on and on and on - ends up being B.S. which affect the brand. Too many empty stories of TSLA glories.
Tesla Phone? So Tesla the company is now taking the blame for what the rumor mills are spreading? Come on.
As for AI, Robotics, FSD, they *are* making money on all of these product right now. Just because they aren't selling product in all of these categorize (except FSD) doesn't mean they aren't making money on work they do in these areas.
The reasons Tesla can improve their vehicles as quickly as they do is because, you guessed it, their expertise in AI and robotics which they in their factories. The same cannot be said for legacy auto.

Regarding the sales in robotics, solar panels, battery panels - IF it is in the earnings substantially the price of the stock will gain traction and increase. Let us see what earnings say tomorrow.
Point to be made -- TSLA stock is searching RIGHT NOW for its true valuation among investors. It still hasn’t found bottom, which means it is over valued. The proof is in the products that = earnings = valuation = stock price = trends.
As a BRAND - TSLA is not gold anymore, people are seeing some tarnished brass.
Personally, I hope TSLA the best because they contribute to the economy, stability and quality life for consumers and WORKERS. TSLA, however, has to be valued more than imagination and hype.

Don't be fooled ,Tesla has not yet built a single car that will ever get Government approved to be used as a robotaxi or even level 4 FSD because their cars don't have needed lidar and radar along with cameras.
Try driving a Tesla with FSD at night time in a snow storm or freezing rain or in fog and raining with the camera lens covered over.
At night time even with one drop of rain or nore and that camera can't see so it can't work and that's why you also have to have Lidar and radar

Just for comparison, BYD the only profitable EV company in China is on PE 18. Just go to shows how overvalued Tesla is especially with expected lower earnings in the forseeable future.

@@anthonye3680 that is what Elon Musk keep lying to you about. Every year is the year of fsd. Yet their fsd is miles away from level 5 automony. The robotaxi will not generate revenues for years to come. Mercedes has already bought out level 3 automony fsd. Until Tesla shows in their revenue they are more than just EVs, they are just and EV company.
Investors hold into earnings. That is gambling. Good traders don't hold thing into earning. They play the reaction of the earnings. Traders also use money / risk managment, take profit zones, and use set ups that have postivie expectancy. TSLA could report great numbers but then again they could report horrible numbers. Either one could or could not move the price of the stock. This is what seperates the big boys and girls from the novices. There is no hope in this game. If you are at any time hoping IMHO that means you are at risk. You have no idea what got you in, what will get you out and what your max loss is. For me living like that would be terrifying.
