Guys, this is the type of quality we should be building all over Nigeria. I’ve seen eastern, southern, western, and northern Nigeria real estate and it is booming. The architecture is amazing. The only thing I would like to mention to the developers is to strongly consider greenery to soften the look of the estates/properties b/c otherwise it looks like an industrial space as opposed to warm, inviting homes. Large trees and shrubs cool down and purify the air in the environment.👍

Yes I quite agree with doing away with the term “Master bedroom “!
Principal or Premier bedroom seems more modern and sanitised a word !
And along with discarding master bedroom, we should get rid of an even more annoying name....”Boys-quarters”!
That is the most demeaning name you can call a dwelling!

Boy's quarters are uniquely Nigerian or maybe unique to all colonized countries as well. So yes, maybe it does have colonial undertones. I think it sounds better than the "Help's Quarters" though, don't you? So Aframaco, what would you have it changed to? The buildings themselves will not go away, they will continue to be built. So. maybe we can suggest something else to call them. Support quarters, maybe?
Master bedroom on the other hand, is not a colonial thing. The term is used all over the English speaking world. It's like saying, 'master key', 'master plan'. The 'master in this case denotes 'foremost' or 'primary'. The master bedroom in a house is the foremost or primary or main bedroom as the estate agent said. It is the room the home owner/the purchaser is likely to occupy.

Staff quarters, that is great! I didn't think of that. Annex like you said is even better. But just for clarification, I was not suggesting that the designation boys' quarters is not from the colonial era. I was arguing against master bedroom being from the colonial era.
