So. maybe we can suggest something else to call them. Support quarters, maybe? Master bedroom on the other hand, is not a colonial thing. The term is used all over the English speaking world. It's like saying, 'master key', 'master plan'. The 'master in this case denotes 'foremost' or 'primary'. The master bedroom in a house is the foremost or primary or main bedroom as the estate agent said. It is the room the home owner/the purchaser is likely to occupy.

I think it sounds better than the "Help's Quarters" though, don't you? So Aframaco, what would you have it changed to? The buildings themselves will not go away, they will continue to be built. So. maybe we can suggest something else to call them.
@@JanJan-pq4im Boys Quarters is a colonial hand-me-down!
We use it so much ( quite ignorantly) that we now think it’s unique to us!
Staff Quarters or even better still, Annexe should readily suffice as a replacement word !
I think🤣!

Staff quarters, that is great! I didn't think of that. Annex like you said is even better. But just for clarification, I was not suggesting that the designation boys' quarters is not from the colonial era. I was arguing against master bedroom being from the colonial era.
By the way. I thought I sent you a response, and it disappeared. So if there are two responses from me, I apologize.
Primary bedroom instead of master bedroom. I like that. I learnt something new.
I really love this home and I'm glad Nigerian builders and architects are now embracing homes of international standard. I love the ambience and decor and would happily live there if I move to Abuja. Job well done.
When you finally move to Abuja you mean? Not IF please
Amen to that
International standard. Nah it's nigerian standard

Nigeria is truly advancing in terms of Structure, music and movie. Our major issue now is Security, Health and power sector. If we can get this right, believe me, investors will pay double to enjoy the luxury, comfort and culture we offer.
