Oh, yes he did! The first song by Norman I heard was He Means the World to Me by the Supremes. Jack Ashford’s vibes were all over the place on that session.
Eddie had a string of singles released after Jamie. The follow-up was If Cleopatra took a chance (was it the answer to Mary Wells’ I Don’t Want to Take a Chance?) was a recording that sounded in place with the Buena Vista Social Club - I’m not kidding! What a record! He cut Leaving Here in 1963, which was a live staple for the Who! He originally recorded Just Ain’t Enough Love, Brenda and If You Don’t Want My Love - all heart wrenching ballads. That man could bring tears to your eyes. Eddie also NAILED a demo recording of Kim Weston’s Take Me in Your Arms. It had so much spirit it shames The Doobie Brothers’ version! Eddie’s voice was one of the best I’ve heard in the course of my life time. But, Mickey’s right. Eddie was not a performer, so his singing career was over before it started. It didn’t stop him from recording demos for other artists though. Sometimes he and Brian would record on records by Martha & the Vandellas or the Supremes.

Eddie Holland had tremendous stage fright. He sang demos for Jackie Wilson in the late 50’s.
