I grew up in the 60s in detroit. What amazes me is how many hits motown put out. And all of the artists were class acts. We used to listen to the supremes over and over again at my buddies house. I remember seeing Smokey Robinson and the Michigan state fair. People in Detroit lived on motown music back then. Amazing time for music.
I just finished the book and it’s really good. I’ve also got Lamont’s book and I’m going to read it next. Eddie is a good story teller and you can tell how much charisma he has from reading the book. These guys are geniuses
I'm here in the UK and there has always been a massive Motown following over here. I've grown up on it and I know you can never, ever get Motown out of your system, not that you'd want to. I'm looking forward to reading the book written by these great gentleman.

I did read Eddie and Brian's book, "Come And Get These Memories" (2019). However, I found Lamont Dozier's book "How Sweet It is" (2019) to be much better than the Holland Brothers. He clearly spoke about Eddie's decision to leave Motown, as Eddie felt baby brother, Brian, was not being compensated by Berry Gordy. I don't want to give it away....please read them, you walk through the beginnings of Motown Records .....actual teenagers built this company.

I loved Motown songs I COULD IDENTIFY WITH! when they wrote songs with universal themes even thin pasty white teens could LOVE. When the social consciousness shit started I lost interest. LONG LIVE THE POP MOTOWN ERA!
