Not sure if this has been addressed already, but I got the mixture handle to work properly by assigning it to the Mixture Axis (100% to -100%) mapping. Works as it should - able to reach all detents.

I may have found a solution to the mixture lever issue: I have set Sensitivity- to '-100%', Sensitivity+ to '-75%', Dead Zone to '50%', and Neutral to '-50%'. This has put the cutoff point at the detent position, and moving the lever immediately sets the mixture to low idle, and the top 25% range of motion sets the mixture to high idle. This is at least working for me on Xbox. I hope this helps someone, and thank you for the very helpful videos!

Whilst this worked fine in the C280B, the Kodiak does not appear to recognise the Condition Lever Low Idle / Cut Cut off commands - so I've added the Decrease Condition Lever command to the indent press as well...
This correctly reduces the lever to cut off in the Kodiak, without adversely affecting the C208B... It does however require pushing the lever all the way forward in the Kodiak, then back again to Low position in order to put the Kodiak back to Low idle. Could also map the release event to the increase condition lever action, which would work for the Kodiak, but would result in other aircraft increasing to high idler condition when un-detenting, so not suitable for a generic profile...

Thanks very much for this excellent update Mark. You were able to do it very quickly as well. I had the throttle settings correct from Pilot/0083’s video but you also covered the prop feathering which I hadn’t done. I’ve now transferred the settings to the V1F Single TR and Twin TR profiles. Everything seems to be set up correctly now for me and currently it stays that way (as you say a bit buggy at first). Let’s hope TB are able to get the SIP working soon for those of us on XBox. There is some sort of issue on xbox with it retaining the new settings. Also, same issue/solution for making the new detents show up. First, force quit MSFS, then unplug the Turtle Beach USB cable from the xbox. Restart xbox. When MSFS is booted into its initial screen, plug the TB USB cable back in. You should now be able to see the new detent buttons and configure the reversers per Mark's fine video.
I only have an xbox, so not sure if this applies to PC users, too.....but, unfortunately, even after you've configured everything correctly and have it working, in order to have these new settings reappear correctly, you often have to unplug the TB USB cable after each MSFS shutdown and plug it in after MSFS starts up again. I've also been seeing some of this same behavior with my Thrustmaster TRFB rudder pedals---where the USB cable has to be unplugged and replugged in for them to show up after MSFS shutdown. Seems like there may have been a bug that has cropped up with the latest MSFS update???

I just did the unplug & reset you suggested and it worked! I did have a strange cursor disappearing thing that happens sometimes that I have to press the Xbox button & come back it to have it back and for the second capture had it capturing as an axis again but just manually selected button 41, validated & saved and when I tested it worked! What a relief. Thanks to you both for this help. It was a good reminder for me to buy Mark / SimHangar Flight Simulation a cup of coffee last night. His patient, clear, poised walk through of setting this up saved me hours of frustration and was worth a few cups of coffee imho. Add on all the other great content from him I take for granted and it was a good reminder of the value this channel brings me and how I should not take that for granted. I figured out the condition lever on the Cessna 208 B (PC) at least: Condition lever 1 low idle (joystick button 13 on press, joystick R axis y-) has 2 binds. Condition lever 1 high idle (joystick r axis y+) and condition lever 1 cut off (joystick button 13 on press). It doesn't 100% make sense to me because button 13 is bound to two different actions on press. But it does work!

  • @neilmackey9626
    @neilmackey9626 Год назад +1

Good morning, Mark! Neil the "problem child" here again...hope this finds you and yours well! 🙂
I copied your V1F-single-TR settings over to create the V1F-twin-TR profile. THROTTLE settings seem to work fine by duplicating the imported #1 settings to #2. This includes getting reversers by going into the detent position, so all good there.
As part of that import, it copied over the PROP settings as well. On the single TR (Caravan), I can shut the engine down by using the mixture control. Once stopped, using the blue TQ lever, I can physically see the blades moving, but only when I go into the detent on that lever...nothing happens going from the top down to just short of the detent. Is that normal?
At any rate, after duplicating the prop settings from Single-TR to Twin-TR, nothing happens when I shut the engine down in the KA350i...moving the lever, even into detent, the blades don't change pitch. LOL...honest, I Googled it first and checked around in the forum but can't seem to determine if the KA350i has "feathering" props, although there were a few references to that model doing it automatically. Did I miss the boat somewhere here?
Finally, at the time you put this video out, TB and MSFS hadn't done their "detents" update yet. You suggested a workaround, but now that detent is available on "condition lever/mixture", can you advise on the proper settings? Right now, I have CONDITION LEVERS 1 & 2 assigned to Joystick Axis 6 (the red TQ mixture lever) with "reverse axis" unchecked. (I'm on an Xbox Series X). Moving the lever moves the scroll bar back and forth and both move in unison in the cockpit. (You "fast-forwarded" a bit after the first set and even after rewatching it a few times, I'm still a bit confused).
I also have the MIXTURE settings for Mixture 1 & 2 Axis set at Joystick Axis 6 as well, with "reverse axis" unchecked. If I clear those settings and pull the mixture lever down from "0" into detent, it shows Joystick Button 43 (the detent position) with, "Warning: selected button input is not recommended for this action". NEITHER of those settings gives me the "on press" / "on release" options like we used in some of the other detent settings...😞 Suggestions???
Cheers, and sorry for being a bit long-winded!

First and foremost, thanks for all three videos. The profiles you have created are a great start to get one in the air fast. The problem I am having is with the twin turboprop profile, propeller pitch isn't working properly. It does work properly in other profiles. The axis shows a full range of motion in the controller programmer but in the sim the controller is restricted to the lowest 25% of the range. I can move the pitch full range with the mouse but as soon as I touch the propeller control it jumps back down to the bottom of its range. Thoughts?

Sorry - the last comment got a bit garbled. Should have read:
Thank you for this latest update. I am a novice and might have something wrong here - but I have noticed a problem with the prop feather function. When I apply as suggested, after moving out of detent, the in cabin lever flicks back to the top (minimum pitch). I fixed this by adding an ON RELEASE function to set the pitch to minimum after release. But I might have the original setting running from maximum to minimum rather than minimum to maximum - but if I reverse the axis then the VelocityOne position does not match the in cabin levers?? I'm just not 100% sure what's correct. Perhaps you could explain what the correct settings for pitch are - is the pitch at minimum when the lever is up?
I have also noted that the Xbox version picks up the axis rather than the button click (e.g. axis rather than button 41, 42 etc) whne using detect control. But it works fine if I search for the control and select button 41, 42 etc. rather than use the detect control function.

      Thank you for the reply.
So if I have understood properly, the pitch is maximum when it is all the way up, we reduce the pitch as we pull the lever down to the detent position. Then we pull it into detent, the button press triggers hold reverse thrust, and increase pitch. So when we release from detent the pitch is high again. Surely ON RELEASE we need to set the pitch back to minimum otherwise when we move out of detent the simulator will reposition the in cabin propeller lever to the high position that it came out of detent at?

Has anyone been able to set up the prop feathering for a twin turbo prop like the King Air 350? The issue I’m running into is that there is only one “Hold Propellor Reverse Thrust” function. So therefore you can only feather both engines at the same time, not one at a time. This is an issue because if there is an engine failure in flight you don’t want to feather both the working and non working engine.

I downloaded version 1.1.0 and on the Training tab on teh Control Column, it recognised that there was an extra "switch" after you entered the indent on the throttle controls. However, When I went to the setup on my "Twin Turboprop" tab and tried to assign this function, the software would not recognise the indent as a separate function to register Throttle Decrease or Throttle Cut. Are you able to assist.

      - Reboot PC/Xbox
      - Use different USB slot
      - Remove and Reinstall TB Control Centre
      - Retry the firmware update following the instructions in the FIRMWARE SIP GUIDE.pdf here **exactly ** discord.com/channels/902198860506603552/902212869150617713/935943793180553248
