    So, when the swing is about to start, the body part that is lower than the elbow have to stay still right?

  • @sergesa4735
    @sergesa4735 11 месяцев назад +5

    Your channel is the best I have seen, and it is very rare to see such a good technique. Few people though understand the following: the movement is essentially an _extension_ of the arm, an _ unfolding_ of the arm. At the end of the extension, the hand cannot resist from turning, producing the famous pronation of the forearm. Your racket grip will dictate the course of the racket. A hammer grip (like Lin Dan) will have the course of the racket shaft perpendicular to the arm. A person like coach Han will have the racket shaft at a different angle from the arm. But both will generate tremendous power as the force exerted linearly by the unfolding of the arm will translate into great speed of the racket head. The forces translate linear to circular (centrifugal). The force generated in the racket head is dependent of the unfolding of the arm which is enhanced by the movement of the torso which is not an horizontal pivot (like in amateurs) but more like a whip perpendicular to the hips. Of course, all this cannot happen without a proper grip which can only be held by the three bottom fingers. The index and the thumb will play a gripping role in the amateur, but the other three fingers are the ones really holding the racket and forming the pivot to the racket movement.

    • @full-swing
      @full-swing  10 месяцев назад

      you're right. That's a great summary.
      It's difficult to learn all of these things at once, but even amateurs can get much better if they learn them one by one.

    The hitting point of the student is directed under his head height. His racket head starts moving forward way too high (sometimes 90Deg or 130deg, never 180deg), thats why it looks like he is heading forward. He needs to lower his racket head to point to the floor before going forward. He keeps it even higher when he wants to hit hard, so i dont think its about his shoulder as much as his back swing positionning before trying to hit. He can't keep his backswing this way and not lean forward. He wouldnt have enough speed. with a shorter swing distance (because he starts his racket head closer to the shuttle) he tries to compensate with the body. If his swing starts in a better position i think that naturally he woudlnt lean forward. I think it comes from the instinct of trying to hit with the fist in a horizontal direction, the max impact speed of the racket then ends up being in front of you facing the floor and hits the shuttle on the way there, so with 40% or so of the possible power. To hit the shuttle close to a vertical position he needs to start his forward motion with the elbow pointing up and the racket poiting straight down. Of course the movement going towards that "loaded" position helps too but is less important.

    • @full-swing
      @full-swing  10 месяцев назад +1

      Due to inertia, the body rotates even after the swing.
      However, the force needed at that moment is ‘inertia’. It's not shoulder or back strength. You have to understand this.

      That's a good point. I've been thinking about that a lot.
      We try to explain things with symbols, arrows, and gestures rather than words. Our ideal video is one that can be understood without voiceover and subtitles.
      I think we can add English narration if we solve some technical issues. Thanks.

      Good choice. Well thought out.
      Footwork is especially important. We are making a video about footwork.
      Don't be too obsessed with split steps.
      Steps start with walking.
      All we have to do is combine the things we can do, such as ‘walking’ and ‘running’, into badminton.

      You shouldn't expect to grow in one day. A teacher must know how to wait patiently for his or her students. If a teacher changes his/her teaching style frequently, students become confused.
      The role of the teacher is to choose carefully, but to observe with patience.

    • @ElTestok
      @ElTestok 10 месяцев назад

      @@full-swing It's not about changing the style frequently. It's just psychology. Some people are more technical, some people are more instinctual, some people respond better with step by step instructions, while some people respond better to "feeling" a movement. I'm not inventing this. A lot of research had been done about this already in the field of Sports Science.
      A great teacher can understand the different types of people, and can adapt in order to bring out the best in everyone. This is especially true when coaching in one on one where the coach can focus all his attention on one person at a time.

      80~90% 정도 어딘가에 있을 겁니다. 그건 본인만이 알 수 있죠.
      그리고 몸통을 멈추는 건 아닙니다. 몸통속도는 느린데 팔속도는 빠르기때문에 그 속도차이에 의해 몸통이 멈춰보이는 겁니다. 이건 나중에 또 영상을 만들어 올릴게요. 준비 중입니다.

      The area around the typhoon is fierce, but the eye of the typhoon is calm. Think about which axis is not moving.
      The torso remains still, and the elbows are extended. The body is not actually stationary. This is because the torso speed is slow, but the arm speed is fast. The speed difference creates an optical illusion.
