We dont know whether we will sincerely apply the princples explained by coach han when playing badminton, but at this rate of watching his classes, in a few years time from now we will end learning korean better than badminton👍🙏
Theres a Chinese provincial level coach that explained this way: Don't worry about grip tightening. Worry about throwing your elbow and racket at the shuttle with a loose grip Then, if you _don't_ tighten your grip you'll throw your racket across the court So you must tighten your grip, but it's the result of whipping your racket, not the way to generate power. It's just to stop the racket from flying across the room. Just sharing because this clicked with me
This sounds about right. I would still argue that tightening the grip provides part of the power. Power comes from the speed of the racket as it hits the shuttle, but also from the inertia of the racket for that split second of the contact. You have to impart as much momentum to the shuttle by maintain the speed as much as possible, and this comes from the tight grip.
@@bojandolinar1535 in my experience when I get the tightening timing correct, it generates that nice snap action But it does that as a matter of timing of "the wall" where shoulder stops and elbow whips and then stops, and then racket whips and then stops. But I know what you mean Ultimately all the coaches are saying the exact same thing, but different ways for different people make sense.
Hi, I am from Thailand. I am very surprised to see Thai language in 7:03 😂 Your channel has helped me improve my badminton form. Thank you very much to Coach Han and the Fullswing team.❤
Would you consider to release an album for the song in the middle of the film? I've notice it has been in the films recently, like a series, and they are nice.
I think the essence is to grip at the point of contact. The point of contact is the point where your elbow straightens during your swing. Lob / Smash depends on your point of contact. Straighten your elbow while picturing where you would hit for a Lob/Smash for a better image while hitting
The video was quite informative, though it ended abruptly. I had to go back and pause it twice to understand Coach Hans' last instructions. I am immensely enjoying these new videos where Coach Hans explores the common mistakes we make without comprehending the actual mechanics of the swing. Would love more videos like the one where he showed the various ways one can tackle the lated forehand instead of just a strong drive.

Big fan from Finland, have learned a lot from these videos🥳. Would like to order your t-shirts, but cant to Finland, will you broaden your shipping countries someday?
@@full-swing Thanks for the reply! There is only a few european countries that can be selected for shipping (denmark, france,uk). So i cant order to Finland.
I still dont understand the twisting of the forearm when swinging. I dont rotate my forearm at all so im very confused as to why other professional players rotate their forearms? Are you holding the racket wrong? Am I holding the racket wrong? I mean, when do you rotate your forearm? and how are you holding the racket? because if you swing the racket and you rotate your forearm that either means that you a) turn the racket blade whilst rotating, thus hitting the shuttle with the side of the racket instead of the strings like you're supposed to, or b) you twist the blade whilst rotating your forearm, thus making it an impossible shot to accurately hit because the blade is spinning. either way, forearm rotation makes no sense at all when playing badminton. I keep my forearm in the same position with the palm facing down, because that makes anatomically sense.
Swinging isn't about one ideal moment. We have to be ready to hit the shuttlecock, and then hit the shuttlecock again, which means that after generating force, we have to create a pathway for that force to dissipate. That involuntary action is what causes the arm to rotate. It's not a conscious action. It's a result of relaxation.
