Naples is rough, authentic and unrefined southern Italian charm at its best: a city of roughly 1 million people that still retained its character. It can be overwhelming at firts, with its narrow dirty lanes and the exuberance of its inhabitants. But the more you get to know it, the more you find its the most authentic and livable place in all of Italy!

My mom has an old photo from when she was a baby with her parents in the Piazza Plebiscito. It's her favorite childhood photo. When I was there in the summer of 2022, I took a picture from the exact same spot 60 years later and sent it to her.

Not one for crowds but you have something for everyone to enjoy here: the beautiful old basilica turned shopping mall, the glorious castle and, of course, the scrummy Italian pastries. I do miss a good cannolo. Good thing they don't bake and make them where I live. I wouldn't be able to resist.

Nah...Napoli isn't slumy...I'd say, more gritty. It's an amazing place to live and explore. Naples, Florida....it's nice for other reasons I suppose...but not all that interesting.

Been watching the Naples Tours. Both the Night & Historic ones. How in the world are you able to do these So crowed sometimes you cannot even find a way through... You must end up bruised & tired. They are HOWEVER really good video.
Well..I know my way around pretty well. Most of it is not too crowded. I do end up tired and sore a bit, but that's just from carrying my camera.

I love going on these walks with you, feels like I am there and also the notes you provide. Why is there so much graffiti on Naples buildings? Other places we go to doesn't seem to have this "art". There is so much to see here; will have to watch more than once.😄

After your first ride in an Uber or Taxi you will see that you have neither the skill or courage to keep up with these people. They are real pros and will do things that will make you clench for hours. . . Much respect!
