We lived in Grand Junction Colorado until 2016, and Ouray along with Silverton were our 2 most favorite towns to visit. The trip over the 4 wheel drive Jeep sized vehicles only, Imogene pass and Black Bear Road is breathtaking, and definitely not for the faint of heart.
Years ago, I went up there for a weekend trip with a Porsche club, and those roads were fantastic. The way things are now with road maintenance. I doubt the roads are in that nicer shape anymore, sad to say. As a full-time in my motorhome, I see the roads all over the country in different levels of unrepaired.
We saw a video a few months back on KYD talking about Ouray, so we worked it into our route home from the Utah Huddle. Glad to see Todd and Sheila cover Ouray as well.

I got in trouble at the hot springs as a teenager 😬😂 got taken back to camp by a local guy and my parents were unimpressed 🤪 I believe that campground had a different name in the 80s. If you haven’t stayed yet in Durango, you should. We always stayed out by Valecito. Every summer it was a stop as well as Silverton and Ouray.

Funny that we saw this video today, we were in Ouray today. We are not staying there but drove up from Durango, love it there though.
My son stays in the cabins we he goes ice climbing in the winter. They are super cute.
