The disease might not affect other fish, but as any fish keeper knows one lot of things start dying it throughs balance out of order. I doubt in wild bodies of water will have the problem of ammonia spikes, but it could cause increased algae and algae blooms which could stress native fish and cause native fish to get sick.

Hello, i have a question. So i just bought some koi from someone and he told me that they were born with a defect so that’s why he is seeking them. The koi’s gills sorta pop out a bit some more than others. My question is if this is normal and how would this affect their life span?

I think my 35cm veil-tail goldfish has just come down with dropsy, he is the biggest fish in my pond

There was actually a longer goldfish. This goldfish is only 14 inches, whereas the longest goldfish is 18 inches!

They should import koi from Japan and not live in fear they are missing out. KHV is rare disease.
