  • Police Services, Associations, and members of the public everywhere seem to be more vocal than ever against bail and release conditions for repeat offenders, even calling for reform. Many claim crime is spiralling out of control in some areas with no chance of letting up.
I'm connected with individuals both personally and professionally who are part of these discussions.

So true, our Canadian society needs to impose consequences for ill actions. The complete lack of fear of consequences encourages these actions. Laws need to be much tougher for repeat offenders.

This is so true. Police officers work hard to keep us safe. They let them out to repeat & the police have to do it all over again. My heart & respect goes out to all police officers.

That's not only in Canada and I know that saying this is not a relief for anyone.

I agree with you. It makes me sad and angry that a lot of people are just getting a slap on the wrist and a court date that they may or may not show up for. Often here the get out and repeat the same offences the same day or next day. They have no sense or care of their misdeeds. I know some are in hard circumstances and do what they do to survive, but a lot of people are suffering and having a difficult time making ends meet. Robbing or looting affects everyone.

The justice system is Don Quijotes windmill story...people will become vigilante when proper justice doesn't exist...making your job actually easier. The "make my day law" in the southern states especially Texas and surrounding states is encouraged by law enforcement...many people are tired of the BS...like i said FAFO.

It is disgusting that there are no laws to keep these creeps behind bars for the rest of their lives. I was reading a few days ago about a step father that abused his step daughter. He went to jail for a short period of time was let out & then he murdered the poor girl. She was 16! This was in America but we know it is no better here. I can’t imagine trying to be a police officer that upholds the law only to have the creep let go by a stupid judge. The system is broken & desperately needs to be overhauled.

There looking to get into something that is no good obviously and how can you believe a person who’s broken the law to that degree the judges need to smarten up and put these people where they belong behind bars for a long enough time.

Yes to bail reform. I posted a longer comment on your Instagram regarding youth. I think we need to be more strict with adults who groom youth in crime. It becomes a vicious cycle. And we need to do more to change the trajectory for youth. Getting criminals to stop preying on youth and then getting them involved in more serious criminal activity needs to be a priority. I’m sure these folks are repeat offenders and when we are lenient on them they infiltrate younger population who are at-risk. Always appreciate your platform for this purpose. 🙏🏻
