I did not write that comment to impress some pretentious cunt on the internet looool
Do you have a version of that which makes sense? I know who I am, I know what I know, and often enjoy finding that there are things I do not know, as they are always opportunities to learn something. I don't mind contradiction, I don't mind what people who know me think of me, always a good opportunity to try to improve, and I think nothing of the opinions of people who do not know me. If you can't deal with that: tough! And when you resort to bad language you tell people things about you you might prefer to keep to yourself, but, as bad language is a sign of a weak personality, that is what you do. The more you use bad language, the more you tell people you are weak. My guys used to tell their mates that they knew when we were in trouble, because I would talk more and more quietly and politely. In four years I had zero guys killed, and zero disabling injuries, (that was before IEDs became a menace). It only ended when I got run over by a truck while off duty. You cannot impress me so don't make yourself look silly by trying to.
The final two questions were probably the most insulting that could have been asked to Eubank Snr and then Eubank Jnr. Childish. I'm getting used to stupid questions from C4 news.

It won't change until their editor is removed from post. He has turned a serious and respected journalistic operation into a pantomime in which any guest invited onto the show is poked and taunted in the hope an argument breaks out. This is no longer about getting to the truth but rather "getting to the fight" with nothing but higher ratings in mind. Check out the Richard Dawkins or Tarantino interviews for classic examples of this interviewee baiting tactic.
What a noble gentleman to teach his son not to inflict needless, perhaps permanent damage to his opponents if avoidable. Only great boxers know how to win a fight by punching to the body while just making points to the face. All my respect to Mr Eubank Sr & Jr.
I think what Eubank Senior did was incredible, he saved a young mans life by telling his own son to aim for the body. This reporter is asking stupid questions obviously in a normal situation chris would tell his son to aim for the head because all boxers do that but in this situation where the opponent was severely hurt he told his son to lay off the head shots.

Eubank is very eloquent and gentlemanly in his handling of this interview. The interviewer was atrocious. Chris telling his son to not hit in the head if there is no need to is absolutely brilliant, professional and very humane. Junior too is very good and respects his dad a lot and rightly so.
Eubank Sr guided his son to victory, possibly saved the life of Blackwell, and is now dealing deftly with a complete and utter knob in an interview. This guy is a legend. Pure class.
I agree with this with the exception of saving Nick Blackwell's life. Eubank Sr's guidance was not out of compassion (for Blackwell) but to win the fight.

Chris Eubank is a tremendously intelligent person, I watched a previous interview of him and searched for him simply because of how well he answered questions in a previous interview.
Chris Eubank did a noble thing to even suggest Jnr to stop hitting him on the head and hit the body instead, good sportmanship, he should be commended not cornered into or dictated in a interview to discredit or downplay thier ethics. Disgraceful questions of poor taste, absolutely cringeworty interview to watch.
I dont like being one of those people who bashes journalists for asking questions, but the ignorance of how he spoke to them about Michael Watson was appalling.
This journalist is a vulture, picking away at the remnants of Nick Blackwells misfortune. His questions are loaded, blatantly trying to bait the Eubanks. Chris snr is schooled in how to handle these muppets, Chris Jr is still green and learning the game, but dad is teaching him well.
I have met both the Eubanks and they are the nicest men you could come across. They would never wish harm on anyone. That journalist is rude and ineffective.
Horrible loaded questions which can only be answered in a negative way. Disgusting tactic by Chanel 4. A lot of respect for the Eubanks for staying and keeping their cool.
Some of the questions are deliberately provocative, maybe, especially towards the end. But if you listen at 0:33 Eubank Snr admits that he wouldn't have given the same advice if his son were losing. Eubank Jnr says the same thing at 0:50, that the the primary concern is victory. So hypothetically speaking, if Blackwell had pummeled Eubank for 9 rounds, then Blackwell suffered a serious injury in the 10th that would leave brain damage, Eubank Snr's advice would be to carry on hitting him as hard as he could to the head, to either knock him out or win the fight on points. Only after the fight is certainly won should the mode of attack be switched and reduced. What the Eubanks are saying essentially then is that your concern for the other man's life only begins once the fight is definitely won, and I find that disgraceful. If I were a fighter, I wouldn't care if you'd been beating me for 2/3s of a fight, if something life threatening happened towards the end of the fight, I'm not going to take advantage of that just to win the fight, and probably make your damage worse in the process. Yeah, it would mean that I'm not going to win any points back, but I'm going to step down my attack. Things like life are more important, I guess that's why I'm not a pro-boxer. But I'd expect better of Eubank Snr after what happened with Watson, he clearly hasn't learned that winning the fight first and foremost isn't the most important thing.
1:25 Honestly, this interviewer is so smug and condescending that it's unbelievable, and then he has the audacity to say, "Why's that?!" As if he doesn't know his line of questioning is disgraceful.
In reaching down to our deepest levels of human instincts and human nature, boxing is one man pitting his strengths of his very soul and inner being against that of an opponent. It's exterior may be violent and even sometimes dangerous, but it is the most sincere form of human contest. Most of the time after a fight all your instincts want to do is hug the opponent. Even if you have beat the shit out of him, you have a profound respect for him. Some people will never understand that. Yes it is a bit barbaric but here's a bit of news for you. Suppression of one side of our yin yang nature isn't healthy. It's why people get stabbed for not indicating at a traffic light. Most boxers are gentlemen outside the ring. Here are two prime examples of that. The same could not be said about the interviewer.
Shocking interview, what was the interviewer thinking with that last question? He should be sacked as that is disrespectful to the Eubacks', Blackwell and Boxing as a whole. Other than the occasional psychopath no sportsman aims to kill or seriously injure an opponent. That last question is also like asking a soldier why he killed someone in Iraq or Afghanistan, you don't ask that.
The other way round, they wouldn't have care. Probably would have smash his head to hell, if they could. This is why blacks should know they never played fair. channel 4 should issue a public apology for that interview. It's the 2nd worst of all time next to the one that fox news did to reza aslan saying that a religious scholar who happens to be a Muslim has a hidden motivation to write about jesus. absolute nonsense logic based on a lack of education.
I dont think the journalist was waaay off ball. I think he was trying to gauge whether his sense of morality would ever override his desire to win. It's an interesting question that reveals the mind of an athlete
As many have stated - where the hell was the sense of morality in Blackwell's corner? Eubank would have pulled his son out by the sixth round of his boy was getting beaten like that. The relationship between trainer and boxer is one based on a far greater trust than that of even a civil union/marriage. You are trusting your trainer with your very life, if they do not act accordingly you could end up in serious danger... Unfortunately this happened last weekend. As I said earlier - The Eubanks held back on Blackwell and at this point saved the guys life. Don't forget that Blackwell was still walking Eubank down and trying to score s knockdown mere moments before his collapse. The greed, egoism, naivety and lack of care for Blackwell from his corner was shocking - this is where the real questions need to be asked. Eubanks were clearly just trying to promote themselves and unwittingly signed up to be witch hunter.
Disgusting questions.

channel 4 should issue a public apology for that interview. It's the 2nd worst of all time next to the one that fox news did to reza aslan saying that a religious scholar who happens to be a Muslim has a hidden motivation to write about jesus. absolute nonsense logic based on a lack of education.
+michael davis Thats one of my favourite interviews because Reza destroys them
Fraser Hughes mine too. I meant it was awful from the perspective of their ignorance. Reza was awesome in that interview
michael davis Very True
Poor journalism to an absolute boxing legned, and one in making.
pointless interview, if I were them I wouldn't do another with Channel 4
They have refused to do interviews with a number of media outlets.
Cant believe he asked that last question, what a clown. Hopefully Nick will recover fully.
Wtf sort of questions were these?! Interviewer needs to change his livelihood
Chris Eubank is a gentleman and a dandy.
the interviewer looks like he smokes
Who hired this guy?
They are just class.
In the USA, this interviewer would have gotten cussed out, perhaps even smacked. The level of professionalism the Eubanks have is unfathomable.
That question at the end was absolutely outrageous.
I know both eubanks are criticised for their style, but they hamdled this remarkably well in a polished and respectful manner
chris eubanks character is so polite and controlled , seems a really decent guy .
