A shame about the oil spillage removing the oil filter. Further highlight by the rainbow trail on the water whilst fitting the new oil filter and continuing to wipe oil from the leg afterwards. May consider not doing over water next time. Moving the dinghy to dry standing would certainly be less heartache than the Environmental spill infringement.
Completely agree Rosie and our goal was for zero spillage. Unfortunately as we're constantly moving and moving the dinghy to a dry stand wasn't on option. But now that i know how much oil is left in the filter (after draining the oil), I will suspend a bucket underneath the leg next time to ensure we achieve our goal.
Dobrze wykonana była by gdyby zrobił to w warsztacie, a nie zanieczyszczał olejem wody w porcie. To była fuszerka wykonana na kolanie po najmniejszej linii oporu!!
The oil filter part number was on the plastic wrapping you removed. Honda put their numbers on the red and white bar code label. A better way to remove the oil filter is with a removal cap that is made with the correct diameter and flutes (flat sections around the head of the filter) I have one of these for my Yanmar engines and will get one for my Honda BF5
the bottle trick was brilliant but I screamed no so loud when you put that wrench on the filter, never more than hand tight sir the o ring seals it so it doesn't need to be cranked down
I like tech episodes. The plastic bottle was a good technique. More adventures to follow!
Nice one!
I have a BF10 ... the manual is so basic!
Interesting, thanks. Neat trick with the bottle.

Great job. Thankyou so much
Channel locks for filters. Get big ones. You’ll never regret it. Shocked to see the oil change over open water. 🤕😒🤐

Cheers for the tips and I'll keep my eye out for this when we're back in Las Palmas.

Za to gdzie to robiłeś należy ci się żółta kartka. Olej nie jest składnikiem który powinien pływać w wodzie.
