I remember KHOU using the 80s Spirit music, except replace 8 with 11. Must have been used with all the then-Belo-owned Texas stations.
everybody used it but the most notable one was the WFAA Spirit of Texas.
KCCI Des Moines (not a Belo station, BTW) also used it for the 1987-88 TV season -- only in their case, it was "The Iowa Spirit on 8."

He's still alive, and he was there for about 27 years before moving to KTVT in 2000, and then retired completely in 2008.
