Hoping they expand on this with the warband! So instead of followers you can actually use your Alts and have AI control them! Gives people who just wanna play solo dungeons and not want to wait 30 mins for quests as dps to just log in and play with little to no wait! Still lee gear on same levels as delves etc.

It's for people like me who don't want to deal with people when I just have to go get an item for a dungeon quest :) lol. Sometimes groups will ignore quests entirely and just say fuck you and move on so you'd get stuck anyways. Also I can wait for my cooldowns if I feel like it, nobody's pulling for me, and I can get up and get a drink if I need to.

I agree with you on every point. The XP is slower, but it is a toxic free environment. The bots are not perfect in their AI brain, but they do a pretty good job. They can protect a new player well enough. I do hope they expand this out farther. Keep it less XP, less reward, but toxic free so that people can learn. There is a fairly big learning gap between a new player and top runners, and not really a good hassle free way to learn.

    • @ThePrefessional

You should still interrupt. The reason you have lower keys is to prepare for higher keys. Plus it's how you're supposed to play the game. There's zero reason to not interrupt when you have the ability for it.
Even as a person that outgears a key, it's my instinct to interrupt. I don't get the mindset of not.

Is it sad? or does WoW have a horrible tutorial... I don't even think that once through exiles reach do they ever tell you about interrupting. There is NO WHERE in the game where you can find in depth information on spells or how to counter certain spells or CC's or anything. Most people don't know how to dispel, cleanse, interrupt. Not to mention all of the hidden PvP modifiers that spells have and the INCREDIBLY vague tooltips for just about every spell.
If you don't use some sort of third party source for information or tips and tricks, or you don't have the capability to adapt and evolve yourself, then you are literally just doomed. This game offers nothing to help new players be successful.

Follower dungeons are for players who are more likely to be targeted by toxic assholes, they make it possible for anyone to actually do dungeons and not have to worry about getting kicked for no reason. Let me explain, I'll keep this as short as I can. The game, through a few addons, is now able to be played by blind people, disabled, no working irl eyeballs whatsoever, that type of blind. Because of restrictions by blizzard to prevent botting, the type of GPS style mapping that these addons can do is impossible in any instances, dungeons, raids, bgs, or arenas. You can't even map the garrison from wod, but that's a different story. To make a long story short, blind players have to /follow someone in a dungeon to get from pack a to boss a and etc, that makes some players mad, they think the blind person is a bot or multiboxer, and kick them. Blizzard knows about blind players now, so that was one of the inspirations of follower dungeons, to give people like blind players, and anyone else who may be targeted, a place to do full dungeon runs without having to worry about bullshit.

I am still stuck on Dragon Flight. I have not bought The War Within Yet. I plan to buy it at the end of this month, since I want to play Delves. I have heard nothing but good things about this expansion. Is this update available for basic Dragon Flight? I am keen to try it since I am currently subbing again, for the first time in a year.
Several things about this content update appeal to me. 1: I don't have to rely on human made teams to gear up now. This update makes gearing up accessible to all. 2: I can do dungeons now, in the latest content, even when there is no one online. 3: I don't have to wait for actual humans to be online, which was a drag, waiting for an LFG at 3 in the morning, where wait times are always high if you are playing DPS only. 4: I don't have to wait for reliable characters to be online, who then exit LFG after a 30 minute wait. 5: I don't have to worry about the TANK leaving the party or going AFK 10 minutes before the last boss. 6: I don't have to worry about the team getting on anymore, and someone saying something that someone else takes offence too, and then reports start flying around to Blizzard. I very much like this update.
However... It does worry me, because it can also mean that more people play solo, and fewer people use LFG. It could lead to the death of WoW as an MMO. Where do we go from here, if we play an MMO and don't need to rely on players anymore to fill the void in Premade or Pug groups? I mean, I no longer have to rely on "Random Guy at 3 in the morning" being online to finish a dungeon. I don't need guild mates for a dungeon farm. Garrisons in WoD broke the community up also, destroying chat, when they first came out. Cities were literally abandoned. People started spending more time in their Garrison, than in their capital city. People stopped communicating. Raid Pug's died in city chat.
That said, I do hope that they allow for followers on dungeons from previous content which cannot be soloed. There also exists a possibility for a completely solo experience on WoW at some point in the future. I think that is the direction that WoW are heading in now, a completely soloable WoW experience, from start to finish, and I think that might be Blizzard's response to a steadily declining player base. Even if the player base does collapse, thing's like follower dungeons will make it possible to play WoW, without the need for a dedicated player population. You will still be able to log in, whenever you feel like it, and play any content you feel like, even if you are the only person playing on the server at the time.

    • @ThePrefessional
      @ThePrefessional  16 дней назад

Follower dungeons came with dragon flight so you can use them for the Dragonflight dungeons. Delves are war within only.
I agree with a lot of your points snd it is great! Gearing is much easier and tbe follower dungeons are absolutely excellent for helping to learn the dungeon, mechanics, your clas and role. They have stated that they will be bringing it to older dungeons as well and I think we will see more of that implemented throughout the war withins life.
However I don't think this is going to kill WoW. While it does allow you to gear up and complete harder content. The best gear available is still only obtainable with the group content. So high mythic keys and Mythic raiding. You'll always have those that want to push or take on the "hardest" content so I don't see that going anywhere.
Followers do give solo players a great way to still experience the game and I personally believe that we will see a followers only raid as well. They are doing a "story mode" raid for Nerubar Palace. Which is a group of only 5 players killing the final boss. Reason being so that those players can see the final cutscenes ingame without having to join a raid group.
This opens a lot of doors. And btw welcome back to WoW. I have personally been enjoying the new expansion so far

@@ThePrefessional Thanks for the welcome back.
I had to come back to test the Party A.I. in Dragon Flight. It was only logical. Delves will be next, when I buy The War Within at the end of the month.
Let me be very clear and deliberate in what I am about to say:
It is awesome. It is the single best content update that Blizzard have ever done.
All I want to do, is farm dungeons for experience, gear and gold for an hour or two a night.
I don't want to worry about being kicked out of the group for not knowing the mechanics, or players going AFK, or leaving the party, forcing us to either abandon the dungeon or to sit in LFG for an hour looking for a replacement party member, or not being able to find a group at all at 3 in the morning.
This update gives me everything that I want. I can now play the content that I want too, when I want too.
      I don't need random groups, I don't need pugs, and I don't need guilds.
I have read on the official forum, that some people don't like the idea of A.I. party members. I don't fully understand what their issue is. You don't have to use them if you don't want to. Meanwhile, it gives people like me access to a full party as and when I need it. What's the problem? If you don't like it, don't use it. Meanwhile, I always have the option to use it if and when I want to. I will be making full use of this content, especially in the early hours of the morning, when it's hard to find groups if your DPS.
I've been playing since around 6AM this morning. I have already ran several dungeons with A.I. team mates. Most of my gear is now ILVL 460. I know that, because of this content update, I will be getting the War Within, and I will be getting a 6 month sub. No question about it. WoW is now, for the first time ever, finally becoming the game that I wanted it to be 15 years ago.
What surprises me is how "Human" the A.I. act. They do everything from jumping around randomly in a dungeon, to mounting their steeds for no apparent reason. They just don't make all of the same mistakes that humans make. If I didn't tell you that you were running a dungeon with A.I. party members, then I don't think that you would know the difference between human players and A.I. players. The best part is that they seem to do better DPS than most groups, they don't get randomly killed for being idiots, I get all the healing as and when I need it, I get all of the loot I need with no rolls between need and greed, there is neither any wait time to run an instance nor AFK'ing while in the instance, and everyone seems to know exactly what their role is straight off the bat.
      It's phenomenal.
While I do NOT think that the addition of A.I. team mates will "kill" WoW, I do think, given the current level of the performance of the A.I. controlled party members, that this content update will have an impact on LFG, the amount of people using LFG, and the reliance on Pugs and random groups at some point. I do think that pugs and random groups will eventually get rarer and rarer.
That said, I also think that A.I. party members had to be added at some point. I think it was necessary.
Once WoW's subscription base drops low enough for whatever reason, and it inevitably gets harder and harder to find a group due to all the subs being cancelled, it will be absolutely necessary to find a way to allow current, new and returning subscribers to enjoy all of the content available. The addition of A.I. groups will allow players to experience all of the content, without the need to rely on active subscribers. It won't matter if 1 person subscribes, or if 50 million people subscribe. With the addition of A.I. team mates, I can still access most of the content.
I think that the addition and inclusion of A.I. controlled team mates will fundamentally, irrevocably change the way that we play World of Warcraft.
In future, levelling won't be about questing, or waiting for hours for a random group in LFG. Levelling will be about getting to level 10, and then switching to dungeon finder and using A.I. controlled party members to blast through the available dungeons for the level, and then alternating between them and random groups when LFG's wait times for a random dungeon are more reasonable. No one want's to spend an hour, in the early hours of the morning, in LFG, looking for a tank or a healer to fill the slots for a random dungeon.
In fact, given the choice, I think that I would rather have A.I. controlled party members fill some roles over Human players. The A.I. heals everyone. The A.I. controlled healer doesn't decide not to heal you because it doesn't like you very much. The A.I. controlled tank doesn't pull the entire dungeon right to the boss, and then get the party wiped because of all the mobs that he's pulling. Having A.I, characters certainly has it's advantages over human players.
The ONLY downside that I can think of is that A.I. controlled characters don't shout "FOR DA HORDE" at 3 in the morning, on city chat. They also don't tell "FOR YA MOM" jokes either.
I also don't know how it would work, including A.I. controlled characters, in a 40, 80 or 120 man raid against Stormwind City and Exodar, like we used to, back in the vanilla days of WoW? I don't think that would ever be a thing.
I do miss gang raping Draenei. I found their screams to be arousing, when they were being bludgeoned to death in a city wide raid in the early hours of the morning, back in the day, when we would all gather in the barrens and chat for an hour or two.
I hope that Blizzard go all the way with it, allowing A.I. party members in all but the absolute toughest content, which has the absolute highest item level gear.
Do I think that there should be A.I. controlled raids? Hell yes. Do I think that there should be A.I. controlled mythic dungeons? Hell yes.
At first, I didn't think that I would like it as much as I currently do, but I am all for this content update.
      Best update ever.
What's even better, is the fact that I think that I built my last custom mid-range gaming PC two years ago. I don't think that I will be getting another now. There's no point.
      Why is that awesome?
Well... I have my current "custom gaming PC" currently sitting on my bed, attached to a 10ft long 100W USB C Quick Charge Cable.
I have a Steam Deck with over 3TB of storage, and I have not gamed on my mid-range AMD Gaming PC since I bought it 2 years or so ago now.
I have a whole raft of games installed into it, as well as emulators like Ryujinx which has turned my Steam Deck into a Nintendo Switch.
I also, coincidentally, have Battlenet and World Of Warcraft installed on to the Steam Deck, along with my custom configuration for WoW's control scheme.
      What's so great about that?
Well, I play WoW on a Steam Deck, at 60FPS, with no wait times for LFG now, with no AFK'ers, with no worry about being kicked, with complete access to experience, gold and loot farms and all the goodness that comes with that, with none of the usual drawbacks, at 3 in the morning, in a nice, warm bed, next to a radiator, with a cup of coffee on one side, and my vape mod on the other. For the first time since WoW came out, I am playing WoW in bed, at 3 in the morning, on a cold winters day, and I don't even have to move other than to operate the controls.
I haven't gamed in bed since I was about 19, playing on a hand held gaming system like the Game Boy.
20 years ago, I never thought that any of this would be possible. Now... Here we are. The best part is that things can only get better from now on.

The logic is so backwards giving “new players” a dungeon mechanic they can’t use until 60 which by then literally ANYONE should have a good grasp of how the game works by then. It SHOULD be level 10 to 60 not 60 to 70 which would Actually make it a viable leveling option. You can’t level past cap so that’s pointless. I especially could use this right now very Badly for my batch of fresh characters because after a decade of just running around on my overgeared maxed out completions chars I’ve decided to start over especially with a few classes I’ve rarely to almost never play as. But certain classic dungeons specifically tied to character class quest are still a thing and they do not show up in lfg. Meaning I must level high enough to just solo them once they are grey which is never a very rewarding feeling.
Hope they fix this the Right way.

I do agree that it needs to be for all levels. I think leveling is very quick, and there are a lot of players reaching dragon isles with still very little idea of their class.
This is just a trial run for more features later. They have to design the pathing and mechanics for each dungeon, so it will take some time before it hits the older ones. However I do think and expect it to come to all older dungeons as well.

It not so difference than the solo dungeons in FF. The dungeons there still give full ep but you only get for the bosses. And you only get 1-2 items which is mostly (or at least in case) not for my class or an upgrade ^^ i mostly use them to train healing or Tank. And in the case of only for the Dungeon quest and then never again

I've heard that's what it's like (I haven't played FF yet) I can see it useful to test out healing or tanking. Completing dungeon quests is a good idea too!

Fast leveling= not even close. Easy Weapons= not even close. Showing newbs the runs= sure. Any other viable purpose especially for a solo player= none. Would this have been an over night patch 5 years ago= yes. Future implementations - Time Walker? Alts as Followers? Old Runs? More to do, dungeons quests, secrets etc? As of now..nice for 1 run. After that? wont do again until they are more involved with added things.

Agreed, the benefit for people already accustomed to the game is limited. However, it does offer guaranteed Mage food. I am curious of how and where they expand it

I came back to the game after this feature was added after a 4 year hiatus. I used it to learn the dungeons so I could eventually tank them on heroic mode. I also use it when I feel like healing because I like it, but I don't like healing other players because they can be toxic.
I'd like to see them boost the amount of damage the AI DPS do to be more in line with what players do and expand them to all dungeons as well as heroic. It would be nice if they would consider rewarding more XP for these to bring them more in line with normal dungeons. A little less XP is understandable, but it should be more like 5% less rather than what it is now.

I agree with you. I think they dont want this to overtake the leveling scene and want it specifically just for learning. I do hope they expand on it as well. I have high hopes for it and think it's going to continue to be very useful!

I agree they are useless if you have played the game before, they are only for extremely new players who literally have no friends and are clueless. They are for the dumb of the dumb player base.

I get where you're originally coming from. But it's not for the dumb of the dumb. People play how they want. Someone who wants to play solo isn't dumb. A new player isn't dumb. Someone with no friends in the game isn't dumb.

That's the dumbest thing I've read today.

You are the PRIME example they need to make these a common feature. Why should anyone waste their time playing with someone with your bad attitude. No thanks, got better things to do then waste it on you.
