- Step-by-step tutorial on how to crochet a very simple backpack. Designed with a base at the bottom so that when this is set down, it would stand upright. The base is also designed with holes at the bottom corners for the drawstrings.The main panel has only 2 pattern repeats with distinct design. This is a quick project with very simple, easy to follow pattern and assembly.

Excellent video! I have been crocheting for 40 years but do not interpret written directions super well, but it was great you had written up above as you are crocheting making it easy to go along. Plus, having a beige background and a not to dark or too light yarn color which made it so easy to see what stitches you were doing and where you were placing the needle. My granddaughter is turning 3 and is tall for her age so this pattern is perfect. I wish you lived next door so we could talk crochet, so many projects I want to do, and need directions broken down. I gotta search out a crochet buddy. Thx

I’m using a four weight cotton yarn, but my base is smaller than your measurements. Should I just do more rows until it’s the dimensions that you mention
Yes. Difference in measurements is normal since yarns, although indicate the same weight and size, I notice still differ. Also, the tension when we crochet matters a lot too. So, you're correct, just do more rows until you get to your desired measurement. Thank you for your question.
