I'm horrible at parrying in games, so I try for a little bit, then get too frustrated and give up. But with this video, I think I'll try it out again, I never considered watching the arm instead of the weapon... Thanks for this guide!
First game iv played of this genre and it is amazing. Beat the game once already but came back to try other mechanics/ build. And parrying is something I want to get good at. Thank you for this video
Absolutely! Can’t believe I haven’t played them before. I have been missing out. Been looking at different videos, dark souls series and bloodborne are on my list to play.
nice nice. i replayed the from soft catalogue after playing elden ring and it was a lot of fun to see where the games came from and where they are going. Definitely a lot of fun to have there. hope you enjoy them
Also ragegamingvideos has a great video talking about the different parry ashes of war. Carian retaliation seems to perform the best in small and medium shields without the fp cost unless you parry a spell
i find the effects of the ashes of war really distracting and even if they have a frame or more of parry animation I am 10x more consistent with just a regular small shield parry. I'm sure their video is very in depth.
Thanks for putting chapters cause I think a lot of people don't want to hear what is a parry or that there's other defensive methods when they search for how to parry. You didn't mention there's a significant difference in parry frames for the buckler parry (more frames thus easier) and the medium shield parry.
some people even w/ a guide aren't gonna land a parry, so it's important to know, imo, that there are other options. and i did saiybuckler is "best" if someone new to parrying can't hit the button at the right time knowing frame data wont change that. "any small shield will do" is i believe what i said too.
I also stream a souls / elden ring stuff on my twitch, if you wanna follow
twitch.tv/wralis
It's nice to see you give credit to the channel that helped you learn how to parry. It's not a very common thing channels anymore.
I appreciate that!
Can't not give props to him, dude was the souls goat back in the day
I see people giving credit all the time.
*parries too early*
*Massive stamina damage*
*Parries too soon*
*Gets openly hit*
Godrick soldier: "u good?"
Me: *rolls away in shame*

good luck!
How has it gone? Are you doing better?
You could parry the Tree Sentinels?! I thought "These guys have giant weapons, no way a small shield can parry those"
lol i know right?
kind of like the Berenike Knights from ds1
Probably the hardest skill to learn but it’s satisfying when you land the parry
this was actually very informative, don't think I would've got parrying done if not for this vid thanks!
glad it helped and GG's!

are you gonna go play the other From Software games after elden ring?
Thanks for checking out the video!

Damn bro, whenever you almighty pushed that knight off the edge 👀 savage
lol revenge for all the times they killed me >:D
Parrying is the ultimate Chad skill. Btw, if you learn how to time dodges first, timing a parry will be easier to learn after that.
To me, dodging without panic rolls is easy.
But parrying? I haven't succeed once, and that's exactly why I'm watching this video
Melee music goes hard

@@Wralis I agree, it goes down to what you're comfortable with. Just wanted to share that information as it worked for me.

I hope my 95 hours in Sekiro will transfer well.
