- I learned a quicker and easier way to do dip powder on my nails! I love this method because I’m a gel polish lover! For me it takes less time, and the removal process was just like the removal of gel polish!

I do this, too but a lil different. I put on Primer on first, then apply the gel base or top coat, then pour powder over. Cure for 1 minute. Buff w/ a stiff lint free wipe.
That’s a great idea! I’ll have to try it!
I absolutely love this. Every time I dip my nails they wind up super thick. I can’t wait to try this with the many many dip powders I have! Thank you
Celtic Lulu it was a total game changer for me! :) I hope it works well for you!
Decorate Every Nail Ya Got I’ve got holographic powders and multichrome powders I’m now excited to dip into. Right now I’m working on a stamping mani with dragons and holo taco chameleon multichrome.
Celtic Lulu sounds awesome!!!
Hi, new to your channel and newbie to nail videos myself. I love this method.
Thanks for hanging out with us on my channel! Welcome! Since I discovered I get the dip flu from dip liquids, this method has been a lifesaver! :) SO easy! :)
New subscriber here 😃 enjoy watching your video ❤️❤️❤️ I love this method I use it all the time
IKR!!! It just always ends up better than when I use dip liquids! 😁 and thanks for subscribing!
I’ve been doing it this way for quite a while now. I use a base coat instead of a topcoat because I find it’s a little stickier. Maybe it’s just in my head but I have used a topcoat and it works great too. Thanks for the fabulous video!
I just learned that it works with a base coat too!!!! That’s great because now I can use all of my base coats that I have lying around!!! :). I usually buy sets and I am always out of topcoat first. Problem solved!!! :)
@@decorateeverynailyagot7344 do you still have to cure them every time you apply the powder to a base coat ?
@@Loveelyxo_ For me, yes! Since I am using a gel base coat, then I have to cure them each time.
Easiest and most informative video out! Thank you so much for posting this! I hope my next dip will be much nicer ❤️
Jamilyn Lane I’m always glad to help! I hope it goes well! Post a pic and tag me! :)
Decorate Every Nail Ya Got it did go well! My sides look so good with your method! Thank you again :)
Jamilyn Lane yay! That makes me happy!
You mentioned a dip powder topcoat but then you cured it. Is this a gel topcoat? Did you use this because you didn’t have a gel basecoat? Just started doing this method and trying to learn all I can. Thanks.
Tianna Simmons I have a special gel topcoat just for my dip powder. It is a gel topcoat. When I am using this method I started using an older topcoat that I didn’t really use anymore. :)
Is the dip gel top coat something different then a normal gel topcoat..I'm confused
My dip gel topcoat was the same as any other gel topcoat. I just designated it strictly for dip powder use. By designated it for only dip powder use, I do not have to worry about any potential dip powder in my top coat.
Where did you get the gel topcoat from how about a link?
That one was just an old one I had. They don’t even make it anymore. You can really use any topcoat you like. :) Here is a link to my favorite topcoat: www.amazon.com/AIMEILI-Nail-Polish-Wipe-Lacquer/dp/B00PF9Q5EG/ref=sxts_sxwds-bia-wc-nc-drs1_0?cv_ct_cx=aimeili+top+coat&dchild=1&keywords=aimeili+top+coat&pd_rd_i=B00PF9Q5EG&pd_rd_r=4f09501c-03f4-4881-91f9-cd6ca3f6a68a&pd_rd_w=AL0O7&pd_rd_wg=s5In8&pf_rd_p=7703ba5f-0171-44a5-b4c4-4e3452ccfac9&pf_rd_r=9A117ARECJV3QZF0A85Z&psc=1&qid=1611254480&sr=1-1-7b47ea83-76bf-4b51-b958-664fad18c0dd
You should follow the directions about a center stripe 2/3 up the nail first. You are simply applying even layers on a longer nail and not building the proper structure to support your length and that is why you are experiencing cracking.
That’s a really good point. I have been considering it since I have been using the gel liquids but it never seemed to work well with the dip liquids. Over time my technique has gotten better and I rarely experience cracks anymore though.
Great job! I found your video because I recently bought the Rossi dip powder, and when I put the top coat on (the one included in the Rossi kit), it started burning my nails. I read something on their site about 'Dip Flu' and wondered if it was that. I also read something online about burning during the curing process. Have you experienced burning in the past with the dip top coat? Do you experience any burning when you use a regular gel top coat on top of dip powder? I love dip so much I don't want to have to give it up!
I have experienced that burning sensation using gel polish. I think it’s called a heat spike. Typically when it happens to me I just take my hand out of the light for a few seconds and then put it back in. That usually helps. I have noticed that it seems to happen more often when I apply a coat that might be considered too thick and also with certain brands of gel polish. Honestly though, it rarely happens to me anymore. Also, I thought dip flu had more characteristics of the flu like coughing, sneezing, aching, etc. However, I haven’t done a whole lot of research on that yet.
I had dip flu and it sucks. You feel like you’re dying. I can’t use any dip powders because of the allergies I get using them so I watch these videos just because
@@CaramelCali I’m so sorry! That’s terrible that you had dip flu! Do you think wearing a mask would help at all? Or is it just from an allergy? I have heard that people can have terrible reactions! 😳
@@decorateeverynailyagot7344 yes I wear a mask. I file outside. I’ve studied this dip flu and nothing can stop it except if you use a gas mask. I no longer dip anymore because the irritants in these powders causes the worst allergies you can imagine. Breathing is a struggle and nothing cures it 😪. I have to stick with gels.
@@CaramelCali gosh!!! I am so sorry you had to deal with that! Thanks for the info though.
Is the brush you use to clean around the cuticle dry or is there acetone on it?
TheDawn0225 I am using a dry brush or sometimes I will put a bit of alcohol on it. You do not need to put acetone on the brush at this point though since you have not cured anything yet. :)
How long did this set last before chipping? I want to try this method on my sis. Thank you for sharing.
I’m trying to remember... but honestly I don’t think this set ever chipped! I usually wear my dip powder for about 3 weeks! Of the dip powders manicures that I do, I rarely get chipping. My natural nails are very weak. They always have been. I say that because sometimes I will get cracks in them because my nails are longer and I might apply too much product. :)
