    Im going on 10 months (July 7th) and do not do any styles besides a loose ponytail or higher bun for work or workouts. I just dont want to stress mu locs either because Im trying to grow my edges back. So less stress the better. But majority of the time i just wear my hair down with part in the middle. Im very simple...but one part of my nape still unravels and my hairline. Guess ill be at least a year and half in befofe it completely locks..lol

      Hello Beauty! Welcome to the Loc’d side! ❤️Same I don’t do alot and I’m a few yrs in now. It’s part of what makes me feel free the ability to just…. NOT and that be ok. The ones around the edges are always harder to get Loc’d! Congrats on your journey and thanks for watching 🖤

    Considering locs either micros or small regular ones lol, do I have to cut my hair to certain length in order to start? Blown out my natural hair is at the top of my shoulders.

    • @JourneywithTiffany
      @JourneywithTiffany  Год назад

      Hi luv! So are you already a loose natural? When you say “blown out” I assume so. If you are already natural NO you do NOT have to cut your hair to get started at all! The longer the better because you don’t have to “wait” for it to grow out and get hang time (length), you will start with length. The only thing your length might affect some is the price of your install, as some people charge for length but otherwise honey no don’t cut your hair just 🗣️go get them! Thanks for watching! 🖤
      P.S. If you had perm you would have to cut them 👍🏾

    I Loveeeee your hair!! I am 2 1/2 years lockdown with traditional locs, but your hair makes me want to cut them off and start over, not with sister locks but micro. My kids have threatened to kill me if I start over, because they love them. I do love my locs, but yours is soooo beautiful!
    Keep the videos coming
    What do you moisturize your locs with and please don’t tell me rosewater, I am allergic to it and don’t know what to put on my babies. Any suggestions?

    • @JourneywithTiffany
      @JourneywithTiffany  Год назад +2

      Hellllooo Beauty! Thanks so much for watching! No sis don’t cut em I don’t wanna have to come save you from your family cause I have influenced you 😂😂😂! I bet your Locs are georg 😍!
      Thanks a million for the compliments I truly appreciate them. 🖤 I am going to do a video on what I put in my water but I can tell you if nothing else I put distilled water, tea tree oil and peppermint because I have dry scalp. I actually don’t use rosewater at all. sometimes I will use rosewater drops, but most often it’s just water with essential oils in it. I go to the local hair store and grab any kind of oil and will use that to lock in moisture every now and then. I have been trying some of the black owned companies here and there as well just have not found one that I really like for spray or oil. If I find one, I really like I will definitely 100% be sharing!
      Thanks again for watching. I appreciate you. 🖤

      After listening to you about trying to find a good sisterloc loctician being so hard , I think I am good. My locs are finally on my shoulders and move, so I am just going to hang in there. I have a good loctician here in LA, so I’m going to hang with my babies. I have 172 locs now, which is close to micro, but no define grid. Thank you, and Joyful Juneteenth to you and yours!

    I have started my locs with permed hair. I have a lot of new growth, but my ends are straighter. Did you have to cut your ends?

    • @JourneywithTiffany
      @JourneywithTiffany  Год назад +1

      Hello!!! Yes ma’am I did after a while when I was ready to! Check out the Loc visual album and you will see how long I kept them! I talk about it in almost all of my vids. I didn’t HAVE to but chose to after awhile. You get to choose 😊 Hope this helps beauty. Thanks for watching 🖤

      @@JourneywithTiffany Thank you for your response. I see your hair looks uniform, so I was really wondering, if the ends got thicker on there own, with out the cut. I have trimed some, but not ready for any big cut. Thanks your hair is just lovely.

    • @JourneywithTiffany
      @JourneywithTiffany  Год назад

      @@christinemcdonald1943 yes they did get thicker on their own sis. The straight hair being on actually helped my ends to Loc up faster. The Locs still swelled and did their Loc stages just the same as not having it on there. Hope that answers it. Take your time and when you feel ready then you trim it. One day I just woke up and said today is it! 🖤

    Sister locks are not installed with extensions . So if someone has extensions added they are no longer considered sister locks according to sister locks they are considered micro locks. No shade, rock them either way !

    Why wouldn't you wear a bonnet when you are working the yard?

    • @JourneywithTiffany
      @JourneywithTiffany  Год назад

      Just don’t like bonnets period and wouldn’t wear them outside of the home. Just a personal preference. 😊 I generally use a scarf or some type of head wrap or hair sock. I think if I could find a slinky bonnet that doesn’t look like the traditional shower cap looking ones I would as I can def see the benefit to covering the hair completely.
