- The show is quite a funny and odd cartoon with a bunch of animation errors, but out of the 3 Mario Cartoons I think this one did the best character development. Mario and Luigi are brothers who look out for each other.
I love that Luigi is crying and then then toad just keeps calling Mario ugly

I gotta say I'm impressed. They're actual plumbers, and there's a "getting back to Brooklyn" subplot. While being set in a fairy tale world. They got the lore better than the movie.

@@matteo1462 I wish video game movies can be like what it is from the actual games WITHOUT it being different or live action or this part of it being from a different planet invading the REAL world stuff (Sonic Movie)... come on, in the U.S. they ALSO have to do that idea and it's out of touch.
I love this. The cartoon showed the true relationship of Mario and Luigi. I hate when fake fans today say there's a rift between them.
Me too, the hatred is the biggest lie I’ve ever heard. Even the movie shows they care for each other. I would do anything to be there for dad, he would do the same
I, as well, disagree with the opinion that Mario and Luigi don't have a positive relationship, however I wouldn't consider people who believe it to be false fans. It's not exactly possible to be a fake fan of something, since either you're a fan or you're not.
Luigi crying for Mario when he's unconcious makes me cry. it makes me think what Luigi would do if he ever lost Mario permanently. they're really close brothers and they can't be separated... i also just really love Luigi and hate seeing him sad :(
It's not okay for almost losing a brother. King Koopa had poison him.

I genuinely felt bad for Luigi when he started crying for mario in that cave, just shows how much those two really love eachother.
Bro, I rewatched the episode where Luigi had to wake up Mario by making pizza. And god damn I never thought I'd tear up at the scene where Luigi started to cry.
Never cried as a kid but now after seeing this scene, the feels hit me like a truck.

ngl Mario's reaction to Peach and Toad getting kidnapped at 4:31 is genuinely disheartening
3:02 You can see that Mario loses his fire power without getting hurt by an enemy, but rather by the heart, because he has to leave the Princess & Toad alone in the Mushroom Kingdom. Luckily they didn't go back to Brooklyn!

For a show like this, is actually cool they did something with Mario and Luigi trying to return home, and having an emotional scene for it.
If only we got to see the plumbers take back the mushroom kingdom, which would lead into the next Mario series.
Unpopular Opinion: I actually prefer Brooklyn Mario over stereotype Italian Mario.

@404 TV i mean, as an Italian, that is what we say. I dont find anything offensive about that. When my mom speaks English she does say a's at the end of words. Its just an accent kind of thing because latin languages have words that usually end in an A or O. There's worse things out there to be offended by and this just isnt offensive.
Maybe would've been less controversial if worded like:
"I prefer husky Brooklyn Mario over high pitched "LEZZA GO!!!" Mario"

The thing that hit me was the scene where peach and toad get kidnapped by bowser…his reaction just felt so disheartening it actually makes me cry

Hot Take: Not a lot of the show has aged well, but it still gave better characterization for Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad than the games ever did.
I mean the writers had little to work with for stories only having Super Mario Bros 1 and 2, even only a handful episodes are set around these games *either Bowser trying to take over Peach's kingdom or showing how the Brothers got to the mushroom kingdom and their attempts of trying to back home* but yeah characterization was the best thing about these cartoons.
@@ClassicSonicSatAm Hopefully the upcoming "Super Chris Pratt Bros." can do the same.
To all of people that said that Mario is an abuser and a terrible brother should do their research and watch this show it truly shows how much Mario loves his brother and friends I absolutely love everyone in the show except king koopa and the koopalings

Brooklyn Bound is definitely one of the best episodes. Mario and Luigi do want to return home, but when Koopa kidnaps Princess Toadstool and Toad, they void their return ticket to save them. And Princess Toadstool kisses them both! I didn't see that coming. And notice how Luigi doesn't like that, while Mario doesn't seem to mind. Heh, probably as close to a Princess Toadstool/Mario ship tease as we can get in this show.
Okay I'll be honest I think in this show series mario doesn't like Toadstool and Toadstool doesn't like mario in a romantic way I think they see eachother In a more friend type of way. And i'm not saying that because I don't like meach no I really do love meach but in this series in particular I don't think they're ever be a thing here and why you may ask. Well look in the adventures of the super mario bros 3 episode four "The Beauty of Kootie" mid way in the episode Cheatsy turns Kootie pie into Mario's "dream girl" to destruct him and what does kootie pie look like exactly a human that has blonde hair, blue eyes and red earrings now doesn't that sounds more like game peach then Toadstool over here I mean if mario's was Toadstool wouldn't Kootie pie look more like Toadstool then game peach and let's say cheatsy didn't intend to disguise kootie as mario's dream girl but just play the part as one wouldn't mario not fall for the trick if he liked toadstool it just doesn't make since meaning that mario's type isn't red hair, blue eyes and green earrings it's blonde hair, blue eyes and red earrings and kinda has a bimbo personality quite the opposite from Toadstool's here. So in conclusion though maybe it might seem as there could be a romantic connection between this mario and toadstool there's just way to many interactions where there not romantic together at all, mario as a completely different type then toadstool's or mario is to busy eating paste to be in a relationship but I think we can all agreed that mario's true love is pasta 🍝🍕🍜

Ah, great moments from the show! Thanks for putting this up! If you wanted to do an add on to this, I would also put up the time in Do You Princess Toadstool Take this Koopa...? where Princess Toadstool was going to marry Koopa to save her people and the Mario Bros, and there's a beautiful moment where Toad says he'd rather be a rock, and she hugs him, and then he gets pulled away... I always thought that was a great scene.

Dude, the episode Luigi was crying for Mario, was just emotional 😭, I hate seeing Luigi sad 😢, I just can’t imagine how Luigi would be if he lost his brother Mario forever, If I were to ever see that, I would cry my heart out to see Luigi crying from that, plus, Luigi is my favorite Mario character, it just breaks my heart to see him sad, Luigi tried cheesecake, a sandwich, ravioli, & spaghetti to try to wake him up, Mario and Luigi are really close brothers, & I would hate to see them get separated

This was a show that was at least decent to watch a few times before the Charles Martinet era with Mario.
Cause Captain Lou did predict the Italian lines that Mario mostly says now in the games with Martinet.
And they said liking the Super Mario Bros Super Show was a bad idea.

2'50 I made up a currently unfinished Mario and Luigi game idea centered around sewers and I really liked the concept of the brothers trying to go home, so I based the final area around this scene.
My sister and I like to poke fun at this show every now and then, but I’ve gotta admit: There are some really good character moments and plot points that the other two shows lack

Another emotional moment was in the part in the show King of the Hill where the truck was rolling down the hill, Bill had some flashbacks of his past then he used his strength to stop the supplies from flying off the truck I felt a similar feeling with these moments I can see how both shows compare

@@robbiewalker2831 couldn't agree with you more. I love Super Show's take on Mario always finding a way, and Luigi blown away by Mario's optimism. Luigi second guesses and is a bit smarter, and Mario is all heart. Super Show is deeper than the other cartoons.

Have you thought about doing a set of emotional clips from Captain N and both '93 Sonic cartoons? Captain N and AOSTH surprisingly have some emotional parts as well, with a few examples from the former being in The Most Dangerous Game Master and Metroid Sweet Metroid and the latter being in Tails New Home and Full Tilt Tails.
