This is absolutely beautiful and very moving. I could at one time play similarly, but at 70 arthritis has taken my dexterity. I can still strum, and still use Cakewalk! Thanks for playing this for us mate, very much appreciated, and well played.
Hang in therw my brother! I'm 68 with tendonitis but still play thru it on my beloved Taylor every say until I can't make anything but cowboy chords. Nothing wrong with cowboy chords.
You can probably reverse your arthritis with a very low or zero carb carnivore diet and a boron supplement. Look up Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Shaw Baker, Judy Cho, Bart Kay, Dr. Anthony Chaffee and others or, just look up, "carnivore diet arthritis." Hope you can get back to playing like you used to!
Hi, absolutely smashing. Which Savarez string Set Do you use?
On Jan 3, 2023 my 214CE-N arrives! Ordered without doing much research but my Lord did I make the right purchase! What a lovely sounding instrument! I've played fingerstyle Bossa Nova on my D'Angelico Hollow Body archtop electric for years now and I can't wait to play my music on this beauty!
I actually think it suits these styles of music beautifully!
How well did it turn out for you ?
I played one of these in the store. unbelievable action for a nylon.
Please notice the microphone setup. One of the reasons this sounds so good, along with beautiful playing and a nice guitar, is that it's properly mic'd and not plugged in.

@@CreativeSauce Hey do you know by any chance if your Taylor 214ce N is the newer refreshed model? I've seen a lot of 214ce N with a darker back and yours is lighter. I can't find any information on this.
I'm not sure TBH, but I bought mine new in 2020.
@@CreativeSauce It is so strange that I can't find anything online. It's clear that there are 3 aesthetically different versions of 214ce N. Black special edition, light back and dark back.

Yes, I changed them out myself. They are genuine taylor ones. Same model as the originals, just different colour- so no need to drill new holes etc.

Hi Lynn. I recorded using 2 small diaphragm condensers in an XY configuration. For this the mics were quite a lot further away than I normally would for a steel string - almost 2 feet away. It felt more balanced like that, with less finger noise. I used a small amount of compression (WA-2A), and used some dynamic EQ to control the low end - but almost no EQ apart from that. Then just a single plate reverb!

Nice work Mike, those Taylor nylons are nice, I tried a few in the shop. Interesting string choice - are those the HT strings? I've settled on D'addario Pro Arte strings, after trying a few, which have a good tone and wear at an affordable price.
I love everything about my nylon guitar (a Yamaha SLG200-N) apart from re-stringing it. Always a chore.
Thanks Andrew. Yeah it's the HT ones. The high strings have a kind of matt finish which I like. Yeah, I hear you on the restringing- and they take a while to stay in tune.

Because of financial problems, I had to sell my Roger Sadowski Solid body electric Nylon guitar. To this day, I've never heard another brand come close to it's sound and also warmth for classical, or jazz.
Pls try to play strumming the guitar...
