Im from Spain and here Nylon Guitar is the main guitar for playing everything. I recommend "Rumba Catalana" for nylon Guitars. Also, if tou play chords is better to play a Flamenco guitar rather of a Nylon guitar. Strings are lower, more tension and chords sound beautifull.
Love this input. Is there a guitar brand that you recommend or do you only use handmade
@@andrescolintv I use "Prudencio Saez" guitars, here from Spain. Alhambra makes good flamenco guitars. Guitarras Bros is another one... The extra good thing about flamenco guitars, aside from low action and better suited for playing chords rather than arpeggios is that those guitars are designed to play percussion on it. Whit "Golpeador" that is like a "Pickguard" for protection of the guitars when you hit the top with your nails. Genial el video. Un abrazo de un fan tuyo!
@@Arrlong28563 thank you for the information. I have always wanted a Spainish Luthier made guitar. Seeing these recommendations from a Spainish guitarist means more than any ad I might see. I would like to see you play a Rumba Catalana.
@@Handle-q6x You're Welcome! here's tons of Spanish Guitar Brands in Spain. My choice is "Prudencio Saez" that makes great Flamenco Guitars with "White Ebony" back and side. Camps is another brand made in my region, Catalonia. And if you want to play a Spanish "Flamenco" guitar but for styles like Jazz or non flamenco related styles with some chords and solos, Guitars Called "Flamenca Negra" are a great luthier choice. Instead of Cypress used in common Flamenco guitars (It was a very cheap wood) "Flamenca Negra" are Flamenco Guitars that are made with Rosewood back and sides. So it has more projection with less effort, and being a Flamenco guitar the nylon strings action is lower, more confortable and with some pretty buzz. I wish you can found a good Luthier Guitar Made In Spain. I play only traditional non flamenco songs in my guitar, mostly chords, and Acoustic guitar is my main choice (a strange choice in southern europe). But check out the Master of Rumba Catalana, Peret!!
I just put ball-end classical strings on my dreadnoughts and my GA guitar - and I play everything on them - blues, pop, jazz, rock.... Been doing that for 40 years now - and hopefully for the next 40-50 years; still love playing my strat though!
Hi Rebecca, can I install nylon strings on my dreadnought martin ? And what kind of nylon strings ? Thanks in advance
@@stephanb3544 The requirement is that they're ball-end classical strings - like the Ernie Ball 1521 strings. Other manufacturers also make them - including Martin M160 strings. Remember that they take a lot of tensioning, you'll need to retune more often... and strings 1 - 3 will go more out of tune than 4 - 6. Give them a try and see if you like them - and remember that if you're going to be playing that way in future, you really should adjust the nut to allow for the fatter strings. Apart from that - they generally play fine, they're quieter, less finger pain - and minimal bending; you ain't playing Hendrix style on nylon strings (learn different techniques like finger tremolo). Oh - and because the neck is much narrower than a classical guitar, it'll make you work to ensure a clean sound. I love the sound and the feel... and I've just been playing AFL's 'Wide Eyed And Legless' and it sounds great! Enjoy the journey!
Thank you very much for informations. Very appreciated
Loved all the genres mentioned and love your playing. There’s not much that can’t be played on nylons, with good pickups and amps I put them through all my pedals even distortion. The softness of the strings enables these guitars to be played much more rhythmically. Also innovations like carbon strings pops the trebles which were always muted on nylon. Taylor and Cordoba make narrower nuts, 1 7/8, so no excuses and lots of new possibilities. Final nylon issue, string bending, learn to bend AND slide or hammer on, full step or more no problem.
I learned so much!
So did I. Cheers!
I play blues on my Yamaha c40 classical.❤.
Flamenco would be my pick! Also, those thin guitars are lovely for people who have shoulder pain! Much easier to play! Would love to get me one down the line....and a Tres Cubano too 🤭
The guitar playing was great… and then he sang like an angel lol.
Amazing, great video 👌
Thank you for so much information and insight Andres!
The one cheek technique 👌
What’s the name of the bolero he played ? Beautiful
The guy on the left.........he plays nice!
I play rock and pop with my nylon string!
Hi Andres, where áre you playing this week?
can you do a series sharing about some pattern of playing that you use everyday?
Thanks! Great video. What is a good 1 or 2 essential trova songs I should learn for playing in Mexico? Gracias!
any Led Zep?
Come on Sean,
Play something on classic guitar for us
No Buckets of water for you my friend, only a shower of flowers ;)
Does anyone know the song he sings in the bolero section?
@@BreakingBreadcrumbs hi! It’s called “La Gloria Eres Tu”. Cheers
@@andrescolintv cheers man, your voice is incredible
Skunk stripe is for truss rod access not as a guide rail for thumbs.
There is no truss rod on a classical guitar. The "stripe" is made of a harder wood for reinforcement and it's not present on all guitars.
you can play everything on them, if you know enough theory you can adapt any music style you want to chords and melodies for nylon strings.
or just play anything you want on them, in latam you can see schoolboys playing metallica riffs on them as if it were electric guitars everywhere.
so in conclusion just play guitar, lol.
Bach. End of discussion. 😊
If they don't like you---
They'll call the police. 🤣😂😂
Or send a message with a bottle
You can learn to read music or tabs - that'll be for me thank you 🤣
Why is it when they show guitar videos spend about three quarters of the video talking about the guitar instead of fucking playing it
