My suggestion would be go north if you want to experience maine. All along the coast and some south central parts of maine are loaded with the kinds of people that you are going on vacation to get away from.
thank goodness Thurston's in Tremont isn't included, it's too crowded there. All these restaurants are operating with low staffing since coved, things are different now, so call.
