Ronin7477 you know it’s friggin hard to get in at target. I applied like 50x for openings after my high school year and most of the time they said “after carefully reviewing, we decided to move forward and wish you the best of luck.” McDonald’s would be like “were hiring but are you in school? If you are, we’re not hiring at all.”
Lol. Gamestop acting like their employees are at fault for their failed business practices. Their employees going above and beyond can quit and find a better paying job already by the sound of it.
Exactly! People don't realize there are a lot of high paying jobs out there that you don't even need a highschool diploma for. Delivering bread is one example. When I worked for Aunt Millie's we had High School dropouts that worked for us making six figures delivering bread. Of course it does depend greatly on the market you are delivering in. But I believe their base was $40K so that's still more than they will make at gamestop.
So true. Every single manager (at least) I know of that has left GameStop found jobs soon after that have paid them more and they've had to do less work. Every single one was happier. Every single one wished they had left earlier.
I bought the new Paper Mario recently and they were BEGGING me to renew my powerup and I told them NO NO NO NO and they kept justifying it saying all the benefits I get from it and blah blah and I told them I'm buying more games digital and of course they said I could purchase the funds to buy digital games there and I'm like I'll do it directly on the PSN or Xbox or Eshop! Their powerup is lame now as you only get $5 a month and the bump up isn't that great! It used to be a great thing to have but now it's worthless it's just a way for them to take your money!
The fact they are focusing on units per transaction as a success measure is beyond me. Most modern retailers have found better ways to measure success. JFC.
When visiting my local Gamestop, I always wait patiently and let them finish their talk about joining Gamestop reward program then politely says no. I know their pain and just want to be nice to them.
Zachery Williams See, the thing is they have cameras and record you, depending in the state they can also record your voice but seeing how they’re illegaly making hbd sanitizer so they can stay open , i wouldn’t put it pass them on just outright recording all without a care in the world about the law. The reason i say this is because i used to sell phones and i had to say my old same song and dance about promos no one cares about, it’s nicer to just let them say it and then politely say no . They record and hold it ahainst you if you stop in the middle or just don’t even try for it.

The problem with what your saying is that your arguing for equal outcome in a what where inequality exists. Some people will fail in life but those failures actually help us over time. They create situations where you have to save for a rainy day or you decide to go back to school or learn a skill. Removing the opportunity to fail just creates a situation where nobody takes risks or struggles and strives for better things.
Derek Foulk I see what your saying in a way but it was just a joke about how GameStop wants their employees to basically harass customers into buying stuff. Not a good business model. @@pokemon19922 Totally agree with you and what you speak is the truth when you say they're practically harrassing you to buy more addons. I'm surprised they don't add security doors to the front that way when a customer walks in the security door closes that way the associate has enough time to tell the customer of all the options and won't let them go until the associate is done and if the customer threatens to get the employee fired the employee can tell the customer well if I don't tell you this I will get fired and since they're paying me and you're not I will tell you all this crap
@@alufiendshadowspell6072 if GameStop ever installs that, it won't be for the employees to upsell stuff. They'll just lock people in until they buy something inorder to leave.
When I used to work for GameStop, if we didn't have an item in stock the first thing we'd do is ask the customer if they would like us to check local stores and have the item held if in stock. Let's be real here... if a customer is coming into a store today they most likely want the item today. Otherwise, they would've ordered it off of Amazon. It also disgusts me that they added another metric to stress out their employees.

Certain statements like “ it makes them THINK we care “ as opposed to “ it SHOWS them we care “ are one of the reasons I have no trust/support for large corporations. Stores pull this everywhere just to pad numbers.
Leak every single one you can! Sooner or later these kinds of companies have to start treating people better and changing the way they do things for the better. However that won't happen if these things aren't exposed enough. Keep up the great work man, love your channel.
“You can’t walk inside Walmart & walk out with a PS4...” Uhhhhh since when? My Walmart is selling anything & everything & I just went to the PS4 section. These ppl are stupid.
These people are living in their own personal reality. Although management are a little different. They may well live in a very real reality it’s simply what they say to the underlings that’s BS. They’ll tell these poor hungry bastards anything to keep them working.
Remember... they consider themselves to be more important than they actually are. They were trying to seem themselves as essential and violating lockdown laws after all.
Skythos I’m always trying to figure out are they just that delusional or is it some deeper psychological thing. Are they really trying to convince people beneath them they are *that* important?!
Maybe they think all the other retailers are out of consoles? I mean that wouldn't be wrong as a lot of stores are trying to get more inventory in but if they have em, you can still buy em. Dunno what rock they live under
I love how they don't have their business logo on the hand sanitizer. They probably did that on purpose because they don't want to get sued and also because it's highly illegal what they're doing.
I wish I had a dollar for every time a corporate person said "let's have fun with this" after giving you a list of must goals to meet. I would be pretty darn rich.
I literally walked out of a target last week with a switch. I walked in, asked for a switch, they handed me one, I paid for it with no BS and went home. :-) Suck it Gamestop lol
I don’t understand how this isn’t being more widely talked about. Cody’s just over here doing this work and GameStop is somehow still afloat. If I still shopped at GameStop, I probably wouldn’t after I heard these employees talk about their sales tactics.
They sound like a group of children trying to play “business”. This meeting was a waste of company money. There is a large market for physical games still and you GameStop are failing at doing the one thing you have to do.
"You cant go into walmart and get a ps4" bro I went to walmart the other day and literally saw a lady buy a ps4 that day and they had 2 others in the lock box lmao
To be fair, my local Walmart has been getting PS4s but like 4 at a time and usually a month or longer apart between shipments. They've been out of Xbox One consoles for almost two months now and our local GameStop barely sees any consoles.
@@EmmureMARIO64 ever since the pandemic consoles sales became a huge thing. Now that Microsoft has discontinued the One X, it's been impossible finding one. Neither my local GameStop or my local indie game store has seen any since probably March. But if you have a One X, there's almost no reason to rush out and buy a Series X at launch. You could easily wait a year.
That might be more realistic than you think. They are starting to do this new thing where the stores will not only sell games, but also be a place where people can come and play games in the store and have like tournaments and stuff and it will have a membership fee to go in there. Idk how close this is to being done but I know they've been trying it out in a few stores to see how it goes.
Honestly this makes more sense than some of the other stuff they charge for. People often choose GameStop to talk to gamers and get people who know what they're talking about. When I worked there and a customer would be rude about my advice (when they asked for my advice) I would tell them they can ask Walmart then. A lot of customers would also say they were willing to pay a little extra for our items because of our people and that we knew what we were talking about.
I used to work at target, if we didn’t have a game or system a person wanted we would just scan the barcode and it would show which stores it was available 😂 GameStop is a joke, I’m glad I never got hired
“They don’t know the products” what’s to know? Either it’s in stock or it’s not. I’ve never once been into a GameStop and had or seen a deep conversation about the computing power of a console or the inner workings of game design. Lol
I’ve gotta say, these tactics are pretty common in retail. I wouldn’t say GameStop is any more or less evil than any other failing retailer when it comes to these sales practices
I feel really bad for the employees man. People can’t be that desperate for money to be treated like this. I am looking for a job and have too much self respect and dignity to apply at GS. I have a mortgage to pay. And I’m not giving my body and soul to a company run by assholes

If you actually dialed in and recorded the conference call, I'm laughing at how they didn't monitor and question the unfamiliar number eaves dropping on them lmaooo
Oh man, I worked this district for a few years as an SGA about 4 years ago. Good to know nothing has changed since I left. "Lie to the customer, fudge the numbers any way you can, as long as you meet the numbers and you don't flip your dick out on camera you'll be fine" Whenever they would push the GPTs I would just add them to every transaction then comp the total so they were free. Made my numbers look great and it cost the company money if anything. So it was a win win. We just started doing web in store before I left and we were told to sell shit we had in stock over web in store if we had to. "Hide some units and see if you can push the web sale before 'finding' one still in stock" Now I own stock in game stop just so I get daily updates of the shit storm they have become. Never change GameStop! Someone needs to set the bar low!
Former store manager. It's been 10 years since GS fired me and this call made me laugh. They haven't changed at all. Same cultish kool-aid drinking ass-kissers. The same "sell this or you're fired" mentality. Like war, GameStop never changes.

I was an SGA for years. I've worked for two stores. And at my 2nd store I was scheduled and paid like a GA and never finished my retraining. I was last scheduled to work in late December. I was officially laid off a couple days ago. I gave up on that horrible place a long time ago. But it still hurt....now I can't checkout brand new in the plastic games indefinitely. Yes gamestop opens games, plays them and sell them as new.
"You can't just walk in Walmart and leave with a PS4." Me, with my sister who works at Walmart: "Hey, bro: can you walk in and leave Walmart having bought a PS4 and bring it home?" Her: "What the hell kind of question is that? Of course you can! We've got eight of them in stock right now!" Daaaaamn.
It's crazy to hear these conference calls and what's really the intentions of the company and its "leaders." I think this is what killed retail when it turned into nothing but a race for numbers and statistics instead of actually creating a good customer experience and developing loyal/residual business. People would rather order their stuff than be harassed and belittled by lifeless employees who carry out the commands of higher ups. It's sad to see that this is what it's come to
The only thing I can think of is that they were referring to that story of stores not being able to carry Switches when the pandemic first started? I'm not fully sure myself but I see Switches ALL the time now in my local Walmart/Target. Haven't shopped at GameStop in atleast 2 years though, they can fuck off.
I don't know why this came in my feed, but I'm happy it did!! LMFAO, "what cult am I in..."!!! 😆 Awesome content! Makes me not want to work ANYWHERE!!!!
"Gone to hell in a hand basket" is definitely the saying, everyone should know that no company actually cares about their customer, cause all a customer is, is $ to them. If you're dumb enough to believe they have your best interest at heart... well maybe you should still be shopping at Gamestop & giving them your hard earned money, while they laugh their way to the bank.
I can see where the managers are coming from. Like, they should strive to motivate their team, but at the end of the day the associates that consistently offer services and strive to improve should get more opportunities. Disclaimer: I would never lie to customers or add on extra items without their knowledge.
I worked at Staples in the computer department 13 years ago, and it was the exact same way. Reason for write-up: FTA(Failure to offer) Our big thing was printers back then, they demanded we attempt to attach cable, ink, paper, service(cips) to every sale
It goes to show you how much they really care about their customers, “yeah just throw in items, our bonuses are counting on it!” “Yeah just print like 10 of those letters, toss em in, they make the customer feel special.” Feels great to know I’m a valued transaction!
I want to go into my nearest GameStop, look for the employees with that haunted look in their eyes and hand them a twenty or something. It’s so awful, they are like hostages. It doesn’t matter how hard they work, how loyal ,dependable they are,. it’s ‘you suck, you didn’t meet unobtainable goals’ evil soul draining atmosphere

So Kyle got 35 card sales... why the FUUUUU%#$#$# aren't they promoting Kyle then? Why aren't they sending him to every store to train others what to do? Why not give the best performing employees free product or some other kind of rewards? Bonuses? These are just terrible managers who like to hear themselves talk. They aren't offering ANY solutions.

Exactly! People don't realize there are a lot of high paying jobs out there that you don't even need a highschool diploma for. Delivering bread is one example. When I worked for Aunt Millie's we had High School dropouts that worked for us making six figures delivering bread. Of course it does depend greatly on the market you are delivering in. and they all sound like puppets for this company. they jus kno theyre NOT the ones who have to talk to employees which is that most challenging part
this is definitely the northeastern US. that one guy has a Philly/South Jersey accent. The elongated "O", hence "Moost"
I don't know why this came in my feed, but I'm happy it did!!
LMFAO, "what cult am I in..."!!! 😆
Awesome content!
End of call;
You: CAMELOT331 here, do you mind if this call goes up on RUclips, cuz it’s gonna!
Bbbyyeeee byyyyyyyeeee....yea.
Even here he’s acting like he’s hearing all this for the first time
Gullible
I worked at Staples in the computer department 13 years ago, and it was the exact same way. Reason for write-up: FTA(Failure to offer) Our big thing was printers back then, they demanded we attempt to attach cable, ink, paper, service(cips) to every sale
It goes to show you how much they really care about their customers, “yeah just throw in items, our bonuses are counting on it!”
“Yeah just print like 10 of those letters, toss em in, they make the customer feel special.”
Feels great to know I’m a valued transaction!
your MONEY is a valued transaction, you are the meatbag that brought it to them.
I think you should release all the recordings you have. If not all of them, then just the really interesting ones. Please keep them coming!
"Silently orders digital game online avoiding the whole GS experience"
Anywhere is a better experience than GameStop lol
Nothing says "personal" like a generic thank you note that everyone receives.
Pretty sure Cody will be the head of a GameStop Relief Service. Providing funds, caffeine , and Xanax to those in need.
For twenty-five cents a month, you can help a GameStop employee in need.
Gothimaya Yes! Xanex and caffeine! 😂
When I hear people say "To be honest with you", to me they are admitting there are times they are not being honest.
Here before they try to strike this video
it was good and keep showing what corporate does not want us to know keep up the good work
GameStop's new strategy: PAY AS YOU EXIT!
Jay: Pay as you exit? Sweet deal!
Holy shit I'm so glad I got FAR away from that company. Thank you for posting this stuff, cos I do not have the connections anymore. I distanced myself so hard, mate. But, it's great to see someone else that's sick of their shit and is trying to do something about it. Keep 'em coming.
Gamestop has been short with hours for years. I worked there in 2011 and never more got four hour shifts unless it was holiday's.
They keep talking like they gonna get more hours haha 😂🤣😂🤣 there never getting more hours no matter the sales a store could sell a million dollars and they still won't get more hours gotta cut those costs for Fat bonus for managers 😡
This makes me want to go to go to gamestop, pickout a game to buy, ring it all up and then change my mind at the last second.
And he’s done it again, GameStop gonna be extra mad this time
I thought the bottle of hand sanitizer was going to have the GameStop tag on it😂😂😂😂
"Lets be honest, not everybody reads" laughs until realizing I dont read jack
Laughs in comment reading
Those devices are at every Walmart within a hundred mile radius from me. Lol
Hells yea another conference call!
that hand sanitizer reminds me of the generic brand food packaging from everybody hates chris 😂😂😂
Do you mean government food back in the day
