"If you screw it up, it ain't our fault, we told you how to do it" spoken like a real parent! You are adorable for that, thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. I'm going to refer to this series as Dad, Apple Farmer Talks ;)
This is JUST the information I was looking for! Thanks so much! We have some ancient apples on the property - pretty sure one is Grimes Golden. The other late apple is unnamed but a good keeper. I KNEW they just weren't "finished" when ready to pick, the flavor is hidden behind the acidity. I felt if I could just let them ripen correctly in storage I'd have something special! You've just made my day with this information, because I know those apples are going to be better and better as fall progresses. Now I'm off to put some damp paper towels in the bags! Thanks again!
I wish I had a big cooler like that. I have no idea how I’m going to do it. It’s that big lurking monster I see needing in the next few years that I haven’t figured out how to deal with.
@@pammiestewart1419 keep the lip close and use a thermostat to keep temps in the low 30s, I either wrap apples in newspaper or ziploc bags with cut corners (if you grow your apples in ziploc bags) Keep em off the bottom cause water can build up.
Thanks for the info. Basically, to combat ripening and decay, you're trying to stop evolution because those apple seeds want to be spread around the world to survive to be the next generation. And in order to do that make the fruit has to smell as wonderful as possible as soon as possible to whatever animal is going to eat it. Your cold storage ideas are excellent, perfect to stop that. And the fruit is basically a laxative so that the seeds come out as fast as possible in order to survive in the animal intestines. Eat up! ... Instead of those potato chips.
Gosh, I don’t know whether the seal the bag or leave the bag a crack open because depending upon which video you watch, you have different people saying the opposite things. So very confusing !

This is great advice.
Thank you Thank you very much.
I love the comparison to the dried up man in the desert or whatever 🤣🤣 love me some apples. Are you in Iowa? There’s a Wilson’s about a hour from me.
I have sure learned a lot from your educational videos about apples. Keep up the great work👍
Thanks from England! Got 1 tree's worth so need to get the extra fridge to store apples sorted out 🙂 Very helpful and just the right side of technical
Thanks from Australia (harvested today). This was just what I needed to know. 😃
Thanks for your advice, DAFT! Our problem is that we never have enough storage or enough apples to last until next season!
Thanks a lot for sharing this information. It just make a difference.
Also like very much your pearl of wisdom at the end. Just priceless!
Hey, I've also got a golden russet. One of my favorites. I like baking with them by mixing half and half with another variety.

Hi north of Iowa City friend!
I sure don’t disagree with you that everyone should have an APPLE 🍏 🍎 FRIDGE!❤❤❤✌🏻
Awesome info
Thanks brother.
Wilsone i like your orchard and your information about apple .... I am from india and am also a apple grower ... i want to like to visit your farm
Great video. Please turn on English automatic subtitles. I watched a video of the treadmill and the treadmill is noisy. Subtitles would help. Thanks.
My husband is deaf and we need the captions, too.
How long at 35 degrees to get the sweetest apples? Thank you for your great info.
Good stuff. Adam should have asked Eve if her apple had been properly stored.

great, thank you! apples are in fridge right now.
Does this work the same for pears once they're ripe?
What if you can? We are going to have some Wine Crisps, but are wondering if we can chill them canned?
use chest freezers for storing ur apples
Do you closed the lid on the freezer? I'm a thinking its not plugged in? Are the apples loose or do you put them in bags

Nothing daft about that advice. Much obliged!
Do Cameos keep well long term? I noticed they have quite a firmness and crunch to them!

Down to earth video.
Was hoping you'd say something about storing apples in hay. But I guess this is not so scientific.
Should you wash/rinse your apples before storing them?
yes i like russet, with milk taste like nuts.
