You need to start modeling because you're STUNNING. I'm serious. You could sell anything with your bubbly personality, pitch to companies whose products you use. Do it!
This was such a fun video to watch. You and Paul are so entertaining together. I love the banter! Mel I started over at age 45. I understand everything you are going through. Take care of yourself!
Loved this video! Had a smile all the way through it and several laughs. I enjoyed your time with Paul more than anyone else you stayed with/hung out with. I'm getting so use to seeing skinny Paul, that seeing chunky Paul was almost shocking! I commented on one of Paul's recent videos about next level friendship with you! LOL! Like a lot of people, I just feel like ya'll hit it off! Paul's goal is 2 other countries a year. Has he ever been to Australia? I do want to say that when I first watched video with you in it, all I could think of was Olivia Newton-John! You are so bubbly, sweet, funny, smart, caring, and beautiful! I hope your personal challenges get easier with time. You and Paul have each been on your own personal journeys for some time now. Although unrelated in most aspects, watching you both progress has been amazing to watch. You are both very inspirational! Onward and upward!
As someone who worked at a Goodwill outlet back in 2009-2011 most of the items in bins come from stores that sat too long and didn’t sell as well as donation tractor trailers that sit in grocery store parking lots taking donations. We rotated our bins out 4 to 5 times a day so there was always an over abundance of goodies to be found.
I loved seeing the foodie parts of this visit and the differences with Australia. When I was in USA I too tried Root Beer and definitely thought it was so odd; why would someone make a drink that tasted like horrible medicine. But hey, that's the fun of travelling and exploring.
Whoa, Paul's bins are different from mine, its really quiet and chill! What a fun vlog, Mel! Sooooo interesting to see America from your perspective, especially the food!! Love how much fun you're having with Paul, he's an excellent host! 🥰
Our bins don't have the gray bins inside and it's actually called Goodwill on the outside. I haven't been on a weekday, but on a Sat. they're a madhouse. Plenty of garbage and broken things mixed in. People wear work gloves for a reason. I'm not entirely sure it's worth it, but things ARE really cheap!
What a fun vlog! You are both so sweet! The Bins experience had me laughing! I've never been to one but I've always heard they are crowded and people can be rude and pushy and you have to fight for carts and stand your ground and guard your haul, etc. This one had very few people and it was so tame and easy-going. Then they kicked YOU out for being too loud?? What??? Do they know this is a GW Outlet or do they think it's a church rummage sale??? :-D Keep bringing the great content! I love to see you exploring and enjoying America! Paul was a perfect host!
We have a Goodwill, but no Goodwill bins store, we have bins store it is mostly Amazon, Temu return type stuff, they start on Saturday for $7 an item then reduce it a $1 each day until the following Saturday where they reset with new stuff and start again. Being a Brit in the US, they drink tea differently here lol all herbal with no milk. I never liked Root beer in the UK even less here in the US, tastes like medicine I had as a kid.
I like herbal tea. That store had a huge selection! Root beer tastes like I was sitting in the dentist chair and the taste lingered and wouldn’t go away lol
I'm American and I haven't been to any Goodwill Bins, so you are already ahead of me. From what I see on RUclips, I wouldn't want to go to the "BINS". I'm glad you are getting to experience some American things. Good luck and Welcome to America!
The bins I go to in Wisconsin are usually heaping full of stuff - to the point of being difficult to sort through. It is odd seeing them so empty at this location.
@backfromburnout Wisconsin also has the best root beer in the USA. It’s called Sprecher, and it comes in dark brown bottles. When you come back to the US, you’ve got to go to Wisconsin and give Sprechers a try. Cheers!
Omg you and Paul are extremely funny together. You both made me laugh a lot. I agree with you on the bins store. I’ve never understood them.. lol. I hope you enjoyed your visit.
@backfromburnout Here in Akron (North Hill), Ohio, USA is a little restaurant named Fred's Diner and they serve the best coffee. Little place so their motto is... Eat Pay Get out Best food at great prices with FREE refills on coffee too 😁
Love this video Mel! You had such fun in America. This Goodwill set up was great - much bigger than our thrift shops here. Easy to navigate! Lots of love, S
Mel, I love you, I really do, but you are wrong, Root Beer is the best soft drink, goes great with Pizza :) lol oh and if you think our money is bad now, back when I was young, all of it came in the same color. The rag paper has been our biggest counterfeit measure as nobody can recreate it, not that I know of or have heard of. Even the best copies can be tested for the rag paper formula and proven counterfeit. Glad to see you was finally able to get a new America vlog out! I hope it means you are settling into a routine and distressing some! 💜
This was fun. I had no idea our onions were huge, nor did I have any idea that anyone had mouthwash that tastes like root beer. I say "fanta" the same way you do, though. And while I'm not a fan of having to fight people to look in a bin, I agree that those bins were pretty disappointing.
Fun... so much fun!! Just an FYI... we do have healthy food in America... but the final sandwich looks AMAZING!! It's truly a battle between healthy and fried deliciousness... but some times you can find healthy deliciousness... I hate Rootbeer too UNLESS it is whipped up with vanilla ice cream.. aka Brown Cow and its delicious!
This was a fun recap to watch. I agree that the Australia money is so much more colorful than ours. Also, I thought Philly Flipper lived in Philadelphia. LOL - how wrong I was!
So fun!!!! Thanks for sharing. I, also, have experienced that feeling that the bins were just full of trash when I've been to them a couple of times. Not a reseller, BTW.
I always thought Root Beer 🍺 tasted like toothpaste (only way better. I love Root Beer!) Best way to have Root Beer is with vanilla ice cream mixed in.
The Bins is totally filled with garbage. Tons of it. BUT there are some goodies mixed in too! :) Best thing I've found to date is a first edition of The Time Machine, there were some listings at the time for it for $30,000
Haven't started the video yet, but I must ask! Did you get mugged!?! And, if not, is it a true Goodwill Bins experience if you were not? And, if you were mugged, was it by one of the employees!?! (Obviously, this is a joke. Hahaha I personally love The Bins, even if it's usually a mess.)
Thanks for sharing Mel, as an Aussie i will probably never get to visit America, i loved this mini vlog , wholly molly, what ? i dont think I'm a fan of the good will bins, there's nothing there LOL i love our cramped op shops much better.... LOL , hope you're doing ok, I've been thinking of you since your last video (Diana in Vic ) xx
I think there are other bins loaded with goodies. This one was a bit sparse when we went and I did go to another bins that had more stuff but I have full respect for all the resellers who only shop at the bins. It’s a grind to dig through them!
Mel is it better to lot by author or by genre? Is it worth listing a series if I say have like #2, #6, #7, #10 etc like not a run TYVM maybe you could make a video if you dont already have one on it
Was fun hear the differences from USA to Australia- Mel said chips we say french fries or fries, & so now I'm wondering if Long John Silver(s) was Aussie 🤔 "Fish and chips" makes sense to me now hey!
All the coffee I tried was very different to our Australian coffee. I wonder what the Americans think of our coffee in comparison when they travel here
Next time you are here in the US you must stay with me I’m right down the road from Kevin Commonwealth Picker I will show you our beautiful central Virginia!
So interesting! People complained about filming? People steal lawn decor in Australia? I thought Americans were the thieves. I have had holiday decorations stolen, but more often I have had them just vandalized/destroyed. The new thing here is a GIANT skeleton that is like 12 feet tall or something and someone around me had one of those stolen from their lawn! I wish I could afford a trip to Australia! The refills on the sodas: America has a huge soda addiction and the sugar people consume with those is astounding. The giant trucks are everywhere! I would love to see how things are down under! I love seeing American from a different perspective.
Loved the video and welcome to America 🇺🇸. If either of you ever come to visit our nations capital Washington DC I have a room for y’all (Free of charge)

That really was a FUN Vlog Mel….So nice to see you relaxing & enjoying yourself….!!!!!😊❤️❤️
I loved my American trip
Love seeing the US through your eyes LOL!
Saw the date at the beginning of this video and thought ….. this is when you came to the US!!! Flash back!! Loved it ❤ Thanks Mel.
Yep it’s an oldie! It was quite hard to go back and make a video from so far back. I’ve been working on this one for weeks!
🤣 I was confused, too!!! MEL'S BACK???? 😂
Entertainment at Its finest! It was so funny when you talked about the American money and your pretty money. Loved it!!!
Great video Mel....love seeing videos of your trip.
Feels weird making videos from old content but I still have a lot to share
This was such a fun video to watch. You and Paul are so entertaining together. I love the banter! Mel I started over at age 45. I understand everything you are going through. Take care of yourself!
Thank you. It was nice to look back at the memories and make a video from old footage.
I love watching Mel discover America!
Thus was such a fun recap
Thanks for being a wonderful host, I miss you!

I’m PMSL at your reaction to RootBeer Mel but you’re RIGHT….I’ve never found it pleasant either….I LOVES going to The Bins though….!!!!!😂😂🙌🏻❤️❤️ 11:53
It tasted like I was at the dentist! I can’t believe you drink that for pleasure LOL
Oh my gosh I love root beer! My late husband adored root beer floats.
Your reaction to Root Beer was the funniest thing I've seen in a while! great to se your footage from your visit!
Good to see you happy and having fun. The bins are definetly crazy and ive always found stuff but its a few hrs digging. Keep up the good work.
That’s a hard way to source. I respect everyone who does bin life!
Happy to see ya working on these videos! Thank you for sharing and cant wait to see more!

What an awesome trip and enjoyed seeing some fun from back then.
I loved seeing the foodie parts of this visit and the differences with Australia. When I was in USA I too tried Root Beer and definitely thought it was so odd; why would someone make a drink that tasted like horrible medicine. But hey, that's the fun of travelling and exploring.
"Rootbeer! YUCK!" and "FAHNTA" - I'm dying 🤣I love American restaurants.
North Port, FL! I go to this one all the time. I actually prefer the one in North Sarasota though. I go almost every weekend. Love the treasure hunt!
Mel, love the pinky out while eating the burger. Shows Australia's English roots. Enjoy your videos.
I didn’t even notice lol. Maybe it was because I was trying to also juggle the camera ha ha
Whoa, Paul's bins are different from mine, its really quiet and chill! What a fun vlog, Mel! Sooooo interesting to see America from your perspective, especially the food!! Love how much fun you're having with Paul, he's an excellent host! 🥰
You’re welcome to come any time :) I like you way more than Mel lol

He was an excellent host. I had a great trip and hope to come back one day
I can see why gloves would be good, especially as they had glass in some and it would be dangerous if there was broken glass
What a fun vlog! You are both so sweet! The Bins experience had me laughing! We went to the bins in florida, it was nasty!! Oh and root beer is amazing.
Thanks for the giggles ♥️
The reaction to the root beer 🙂 lol
You trying root beer was so funny hahhahaha
Yes rootbeer is yakkie !! 😂
Great fun video Mel looked like you had a great time in America 😊
I did! I hope I can come back.

Not all root beer is created equally. A&W root beer is my favorite. IBC is popular, but I hate it.
It's amazing to see how much weight Paul has lost in the last 6 months. Also I 100% agree with you about Root Beer Mel.
He’s looking amazing! Like a different man!
As an American, I agree with you 100% about root beer, that’s some nasty stuff lol.
It’s like being at the dentist lol
Welcome to the USA😊
I loved my USA trip
You should have got a root beer float. And did you try an egg cream???
I'm American and I haven't been to any Goodwill Bins, so you are already ahead of me. From what I see on RUclips, I wouldn't want to go to the "BINS". I'm glad you are getting to experience some American things. Good luck and Welcome to America!
The bins I go to in Wisconsin are usually heaping full of stuff - to the point of being difficult to sort through. It is odd seeing them so empty at this location.
We went before lunch but they were cleared out! They just have been busy in the morning.
Where do you go in Wisconsin?
@backfromburnout Wisconsin also has the best root beer in the USA. It’s called Sprecher, and it comes in dark brown bottles. When you come back to the US, you’ve got to go to Wisconsin and give Sprechers a try. Cheers!

@@polarbearmom6420 I agree - Spiecher is expensive but worth it.
I’m glad enjoyed America!!
I absolutely loved it
That sunset is WOW! ❤
Omg you and Paul are extremely funny together. You both made me laugh a lot. I agree with you on the bins store. I’ve never understood them.. lol. I hope you enjoyed your visit.
I truly enjoyed this video ❤❤

you are delightfully funny!
Thank you!
Fabulous tea shop Mel.
Your video was so fun to watch your reaction to American things...like the girl version of "Crocodile Dundee"! 🤣🤣❤
I had to laugh when you tried the rootbeer. I feel the same way, it's awful lol.
fun video Mel! I love root beer.
Ohhh I don’t know how. It’s like being at the dentist lol
We have all day’ers too! They take all of the shopping carts at our bins store & no one else can ever get a shopping cart. It’s so frustrating.
I REALLY MISS YOUR REGULAR YOU TUBE UPLOADS. HOPE YOU GOING OK
Brill Mel. Remember my first trip to states in the 70s. Blew my mind xxx cheri
At this point Mel the books find you like your superpower
Lol

Books are not by the pound in Portland Oregon Goodwill outlet bins. They are $2.29 each for hard back books.
As a retired geography teacher, I love seeing how you compare US items with those you have in Australia.
I always thought Root Beer 🍺 tasted like toothpaste (only way better. I love Root Beer!)
Best way to have Root Beer is with vanilla ice cream mixed in.
Just watched this video, hoping your friends are safe❤
They are x
Didn't seem like that Bins location had that many books. 👑
The Bins is totally filled with garbage. Tons of it. BUT there are some goodies mixed in too! :) Best thing I've found to date is a first edition of The Time Machine, there were some listings at the time for it for $30,000
We have to put a £1 coin in our shopping trolleys in the UK, they don't take any chances here LOL.
Same as us in Australia!
That was fun - cannot believe the food portions I even though the USPS box you carried in was a pizza for a snack
They stopped putting glassware in my Goodwill bins due to breakage and people getting cut.
I can see it could be dangerous if you’re digging and something was to break!
Its already time to come back to the USA! Largo, Fl!
I wish!!
Been waiting for this vlog since seeing u on Paul's channel ❤❤❤still trying to figure out how to purchase from u.
Haven't started the video yet, but I must ask! Did you get mugged!?!

Looking at that food and plastic beer cups makes me appreciate living in Australia. We have the best of the best. 🤣

Bibles at our bins in Indy are free. I've sold a few :)
Howdy Y'all; just like they say it in Texas (my neck of the woods for quite a few years). 🙂

To heck with your significant others, or your recent exes, You two need to hook up. You are perfect for each other!
Lol
Me and Paul? Paul couldn’t wait to get rid of me 😂😂😂
He's engaged!
@@backfromburnout very true lol
I think they disengaged last week. :(
@bentley8111
Fast food coffee perhaps? It's undrinkable. You'd like my coffee!
All the coffee I tried was very different to our Australian coffee. I wonder what the Americans think of our coffee in comparison when they travel here
Wow Paul has really lost a TON of weights.. in 7 months it just fell off him!
It was so fun watching experience the new things!
We don't have any seating at our bins either.
I get Hairy Tornado vibe when I watch Mel😂
Oh wow, well I’ll take that as a compliment and dream that I had all his views and subscribers 🤣🤣
I walked into the bins the first time and I left right away. Then I started finding $100 jewelry boxes and Patagonia!
Also, in the USA they call the main course the entree...?!?
Root beer is the only soda I like 🤣🤣
Next time you are here in the US you must stay with me I’m right down the road from Kevin Commonwealth Picker I will show you our beautiful central Virginia!
Should have tried the Tootsie Roll, your kids would have loved them. 😊
That's that bad Root Beer, you need to try Barq's Root Bear, that's best ha ha ha ha ha ha 🎃

root beer and ice cream Mel the best!!
How many Americans did you just offend with the coffee banter? 😅. It’s the same with beer though. Ours is way better 👌🤣

He’s lost a huge amount of weight since I visited! He’s very dedicated
That is the strangest Goodwill I've ever seen.
I know u had said y r living in the ACT in another vid, but listening to u, I swear I can hear Kiwi notes in yr accent?!
Oh, excuse me, NOPE! kiwi here (even tho living in BNE)... her accent is Ocker as, mate.
