They put in the work on the animations but the audio work is thoroughly "meh" and in terms of gameplay I'd rank it about on par with Death Valley Rally. They're both brutally difficult games thanks largely to subpar controls and level design.
I don't even know where to go right from the start in this game... I could watch a playthrough but what's the point? I do it sometimes but only for long games or for a puzzle, but with Rabbit Rampage, a cartoonish platformer, after 30 seconds of gameplay I'm lost lol. The great thing about catching up on these videos is that I remember games that I rented once in like 1995 that I've completely forgotten about. As soon as I saw that Roadrunner game I instantly remembered it, don't think I've thought about that game or remembered it existing in like 20 years. I also played Tiny Toons, but I still definitely remembered that one, I rented that back in 93 when I was in Kindergarten, I remember playing it when the bus was about to come by and Mom had to hurry me outside, haha.
Buster Busts Loose actually holds up as a fairly entertaining licensed platformer despite some rough patches and weird difficulty spikes. Road Runner maybe not so much.
Oh yeah, Haunted Holiday. I used to have that game. It had this weird weather system in the game where every time you replay the game (or game over) the scenery changes. It doesn't actually affect gameplay but its still really trippy.
There's a bootleg version of the Speed Gonzalez game called Sonic saves Mario. I played it a lot as a kid. This is the first time that I see the original game. Amazing video.

The Taz Mania game is very hard. I had it when I was child, but never finished. Tried it again some years ago and still thought it to be very hard. I want to finish it someday tough.
The road runner game is a good game. You kinda have to learn the track to reach places and the speed mechanic is done well. It is a little but tricky at first but once you get the hang of it. It’s an over all good game. Very well designed courses that give a great road runner feel.
The problem with Road Runner is that it suffers from all the flaws of a classic Sonic game and then some; you have the same extremely restrictive viewing area for a speed-focused game which is exacerbated by much larger sprites, even more reliance on trial and error to learn the level layouts, and then tack on the additional problems of your attacks being extremely restrictive and awkward, controls being even wonkier and floatier, TELEPORTER MAZES later in the game, and level design which is frequently much easier to get lost in, die instantly to leaps of faith, lose almost all your progress with a single missed jump, or end up getting stuck with a much earlier checkpoint by accident because you touched them out of order. Thematically it's really well executed, there are nice touches like the level-end animations and being able to press Up+L for a completely cosmetic mechanic, and I can imagine that if you actually put in the time to learn all the level layouts, shortcuts, and "gotchas" and become basically prescient to all hazards, it could be pretty fun to speedrun. But I think a game that controls very awkwardly and tests your patience for multiple playthroughs before getting to the point of being fun is still a bad game by most metrics.
I played Loony Tunes Basket Ball so much when i was a kid, and yeah you're right, this is one of if not THE BEST basketball game on the SNES .. also you missed that each character has a special move and they all so fun and satisfying to preform
I remember that game. I was surprissed at the weather system in the game. Sometimes it would be snowing sometimes it would look like autumn etc. Really impressive way back when.
The only problem with Buster's game is that you need to finish it in the hardest mode to get to the end, and the password option is only available in the easiest mode, not really a good choice of game design.
@@Gojiro7 Yeah, Batman Returns was a little like that. All the levels were accessible, but you only get to see the whole ending cinematic if you beat it on the hardest difficulty.
Looney Tunes B Ball kicks ass, definitely one of my favorite 16-bit basketball games if not my absolute favorite, NBA Jam and Dunk Dream are the only ones that even come close to it.
If you go for NES you get The Flintstones Dino and Hoppy Rescue*, and Wacky Races**. *I think that was the name. It was a great game, but is excessively expensive now. It had kind of an early Castelvania feel to it. **It wasn't even a racing game, but something more like Mega Man or Darkwing Duck.

I think I actually played every single one of these except for Looney Tunes B-Ball (and the unreleased ones, of course). Your channel has been great for lots of "OHHHH YEEEAAAH! I remember that!" moments, especially for games I totally, completely forgot existed. Like there's some SNES games I never forgot - mostly the big obvous ones, but also stuff like Legend of Mystical Ninja, Uncharted Waters, 7th Saga, EVO, Hook, yadda yadda. But there's others like Duck Dodgers or Dragon View or Equinox that had COMPLETELY disappeared from my memory until seeing footage again and recognizing it instantly.
imma have to say it -- rabbit rampage looks and feels *a lot* like a legit flash game. if you put a decent smoothing filter over that footage and told me it was a wb kids flash game from 2005 i wouldn't bat an eye
The animation and detail in video games were pretty amazing back then! Even better to some games today! A lot of times the sprites in today's games lose the fluidity of movement and just seem so stiff! I am a huge fan of the looney tunes and Warner Bros.! Awesome video man!

I grew up in the 90s playing Daffy Duck the Marvin missions and actually enjoy the game quite a bit. I didn't really have an issue with the controls. I also played Tasmania and actually enjoyed that game too although at first I had to get used to it. There was a Tiny Toons game I played on the Sega Genesis that actually was pretty hard and wish I could play again. I also recall a side-scrolling Tasmanian devil game that I remember seeing my brother's play which I could have sworn was on Super Nintendo but maybe was on Sega Genesis.
The Animaniacs Genesis game has the same plot, but is COMPLETELY different from the SNES version you showcased here; I had no idea. You should take a look!
Why did they do that? Konami owned the rights to the IP on both platforms, yet they made completely different games for each. Meanwhile Virgin's Lion King games are basically the same.
Some of my favorite memorys as a child was sitting with my dad watching classic Looney toons episodes it ment even more to me when I found out he grew up watching the same cartoons..
I used to love Animaniacs but I always had a problem with a collision detection while jumping from platform to platform. There were many times when I fell down because I failed to jump at that exact platform. I still like the Bugs Bunny game. Frankly I played it as a kid so I'll probably have some bias towards it. But the presentation is amazing in that game. Like you're actually experiencing Bugs Bunny cartoons.
My cousins (that we saw at Thanksgiving only) had Tiny Toons Wacky Sports Challenge. I loved playing it when we went to their house. My nephews and I have since played a handful of times, and always enjoy it. Very fun game.

I own the Genesis version and you're right. The Genesis version is more of a puzzle platformer and The Warner Siblings each had their own abilities like Wacko's mallet and Dot's... hypnotic kisses? Well that's Animaniacs for ya ha ha.
I grew up with rabbit rampage. I loved how big the levels were in all directions, usually with multiple paths. The tracks used in its stages are typically very long and rarely repeat, which is unique for an SNES game.
Looney Tunes Basketball was a game that I wish I had played as a child. I would have had so much fun playing it with my siblings. I love the “Kill the Wabbit!!!” move from Elmer Fudd. The Taz-Mania game around the 7:15 mark got me good. When I went shopping with my dad, I looked at the back of the box and it was a platformer through and through from the screenshots... I got home, popped it in and thought "maybe I'll get to the platform portion of the game once I beat these levels..." yeah, no... I think they were screenshots for a Sega Genesis Taz-Mania game... what a let down that was.
Thank you for clarifying what the original game was for a sonic rom hack I played back in the day. The Speedy Gonzales game was it. You played as Sonic and recused Mario in a cage.
Yeah, when it comes to Looney Tunes and WB stuff in general in video games, they usually manage to preserve the charm of the source material but rarely do they come off as good games. As far as SNES games go, I can agree that Animaniacs and Buster Busts Loose are good, but IMO Looney Tunes had a REAL good run later with Infogrames and nothing can top that. Bugs Bunny Lost in Time, Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters, Looney Tunes Racing, Looney Tunes Space Race, Taz Express, Taz Wanted, Sheep, Dog 'n Wolf. Now those are games worth checking out.
I like Busters Busts Loose! Every Stage has different setting with different game play elements and you have cool mini games (I liked the squash one the most). And it looks still great today. I pop it now and than in my SNES.
I owned and beat Road Runner's Death Valley Rally many times. The controls take a little getting used to, and the boards need to be learned to master, but once you are beyond a novice, the game is pretty fun.
Wow the memories. I honestly played most of these. Looney Toons B-ball was incredible. Must have rented that 3 or 4 times as a kid. I know I beat Speedy Gonzales and Porky. Loved Rabbit Rampage but it was always really hard for me if I recall. Also, I was pretty into that Taz game when it came out. Great list.

I have abit of memory of the colouring book. I wasn't too mad about the Animanics game. The road runner is abit difficult to control. I love Speedy's sound and saving the caged friends. Tiny Toons Ad, I remember the charged run. My FAVOURITE GAME to play with my mom, we have to figure out the rules as the cartridge was in Japanese. I think I developed my skill on rhythm from this game. Thanks for including that.
Taz-Mania is a great game and its not a racing game and there's a LOT more going on than just eating birds. You gotta' avoid so many obstacles in your way, especially in the later stages. You have oncoming cars, trucks coming sideways, water to avoid, slippery tar, mud, signs, trees, an archer, a pterodactyl that takes you back, this motocycle guy that can either give you food, springs or skates or dynamites or punches you, Taz's mom that chases you and if she catches you, you lose a continue, a blue coyote that blinds you, these two green guys that try to catch Taz with a net, and giant potholes. Even the roads get narrow and its harder to avoid cars and busses. This game is challenging. I think you didn't give that game a chance.
That Sylvester & Tweety thing DID live on as a different game, by a different developer, on a different system: Cagey Capers for the SEGA Genesis. You try to catch Tweety, by using objects, eluding his enemies, and even his own son, Sylvester Jr., as well as that "Giant Mouse" Hippity Hopper (a kangaroo) make appearances.
I know this video is over a year old, but the Wacky Sports Challenge features a lot more than 7 disciplines. There are new disciplines added after each playthrough. Also, the old disciplines get a bit harder with every playthrough. This is really worth a drunk weekend.
I gotta say, I love Looney Tune's B-Ball. I rented it multiple times as a kid. Contrarywise, Bug's Bunny is a mess. The controls are imprecise, the jump is floaty, hit detection is bad, and there are enemies EVERYWHERE. Don't know how I beat it as a kid.
Cool! I got a snes with Tiny Toons Adventures and played it briefly and it looked like a fun game. Also came with donky kong and two different mario games mario world and alstars. Super excited to enjoy the system with my mom and sisters we had one growing up and this one I just got came with two gamepads.
Looney Tunes B-Ball and Buster Busts Loose were great games i had a lot of fun with. Way back when the emulating roms was kinda new, there used to be this Sonic the Hedgehog game available for SNES emulators which I'm now sure is a hacked version of the Speedy Gonzales game
If you want an actually good Roadrunner & Wile E. Coyote game, you can't go wrong with Desert Demolition on the Mega Drive. It may be insanely short, but man is it a fun 45-60 minutes. Everything is done well, and the only criticism you can really level at the game is the aforementioned length.

for some reason, someone high up at Konami back in the day demanded that all their games only be considered beaten if you do it on hard.
The game is easy as hell though and takes like an hour to beat. I'm sure you can manage without a password if you try your best.

marvin missions actually gets pretty good when you get used to the controls, and realize shot-jump is a whole mechanic by itself.

Thank you for clarifying what the original game was for a sonic rom hack I played back in the day. The Speedy Gonzales game was it. You played as Sonic and recused Mario in a cage.

Yeah, when it comes to Looney Tunes and WB stuff in general in video games, they usually manage to preserve the charm of the source material but rarely do they come off as good games. As far as SNES games go, I can agree that Animaniacs and Buster Busts Loose are good, but IMO Looney Tunes had a REAL good run later with Infogrames and nothing can top that. Bugs Bunny Lost in Time, Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters, Looney Tunes Racing, Looney Tunes Space Race, Taz Express, Taz Wanted, Sheep, Dog 'n Wolf. Now those are games worth checking out.

The Tiny Toons party game was a blast from the past, my friends def had that game
I loved Loony Toons B-Ball almost as much as I did NBA Jam, that was a shockingly well done sports game. I rented it so damn often.
I like Busters Busts Loose! Every Stage has different setting with different game play elements and you have cool mini games (I liked the squash one the most). And it looks still great today. I pop it now and than in my SNES.
tiny toons wacky sports, Animaniacs and road runner where some my top favourites on snes and still play them to this day
RoadRunner, Tazmania, Tiny Toons and Duck Dodgers were my favorite games
So nice to see Rabbit Rampage getting some coverage! Loved that game as a kid
I owned and beat Road Runner's Death Valley Rally many times. The controls take a little getting used to, and the boards need to be learned to master, but once you are beyond a novice, the game is pretty fun.
Looney Tunes B-Ball is awesome. I found it randomly and thought I'd try it out. It's one of my favorite snes games.

Wow the memories. I honestly played most of these. Looney Toons B-ball was incredible. Must have rented that 3 or 4 times as a kid. I know I beat Speedy Gonzales and Porky. Loved Rabbit Rampage but it was always really hard for me if I recall. Also, I was pretty into that Taz game when it came out. Great list.

It’s funny I totally agreed with your take on the best games out the bunch. My cousin had b-ball and I couldn’t get enough of it. And Tiny Toons with Buster had a football level that was so fun that I would lose on purpose so I could keep playing it over😂😂 good times
That porky pig Sprite is one of the biggest SNES sprites I've ever seen on a platformer.. that bugs bunny one was huge to haha
I have abit of memory of the colouring book. I wasn't too mad about the Animanics game.
The road runner is abit difficult to control. I love Speedy's sound and saving the caged friends. Tiny Toons Ad, I remember the charged run.
My FAVOURITE GAME to play with my mom, we have to figure out the rules as the cartridge was in Japanese. I think I developed my skill on rhythm from this game. Thanks for including that.
6:26 the Speedy game was used for a Sonic & Mario rom hack. Swap Speedy for Sonic and the captured mice as Mario.

First time I've thought of or remembered Speedy Gonzales in like 25 years. No idea why I owned that game but I sure remember playing it a lot. Weird.
Taz-Mania is a great game and its not a racing game and there's a LOT more going on than just eating birds. You gotta' avoid so many obstacles in your way, especially in the later stages. You have oncoming cars, trucks coming sideways, water to avoid, slippery tar, mud, signs, trees, an archer, a pterodactyl that takes you back, this motocycle guy that can either give you food, springs or skates or dynamites or punches you, Taz's mom that chases you and if she catches you, you lose a continue, a blue coyote that blinds you, these two green guys that try to catch Taz with a net, and giant potholes. Even the roads get narrow and its harder to avoid cars and busses. This game is challenging. I think you didn't give that game a chance.
That Sylvester & Tweety thing DID live on as a different game, by a different developer, on a different system: Cagey Capers for the SEGA Genesis. You try to catch Tweety, by using objects, eluding his enemies, and even his own son, Sylvester Jr., as well as that "Giant Mouse" Hippity Hopper (a kangaroo) make appearances.
YoshiAngemon swore I played a Sylvester and tweety game where you had to try catching tweety swinging in his cage.

Never managed to beat the tiny toons games but always loved them. The olympics game is soo much tun.
Sega had a taz platforming game based on the taz cartoon. It was actually pretty good.
Two of them, even. I liked the first one more, but the sequel had many improvements.

I know this video is over a year old, but the Wacky Sports Challenge features a lot more than 7 disciplines. There are new disciplines added after each playthrough. Also, the old disciplines get a bit harder with every playthrough. This is really worth a drunk weekend.
I gotta say, I love Looney Tune's B-Ball. I rented it multiple times as a kid.
Contrarywise, Bug's Bunny is a mess. The controls are imprecise, the jump is floaty, hit detection is bad, and there are enemies EVERYWHERE. Don't know how I beat it as a kid.

I got a snes with Tiny Toons Adventures and played it briefly and it looked like a fun game.
Also came with donky kong and two different mario games mario world and alstars.
Super excited to enjoy the system with my mom and sisters we had one growing up and this one I just got came with two gamepads.

Way back when the emulating roms was kinda new, there used to be this Sonic the Hedgehog game available for SNES emulators which I'm now sure is a hacked version of the Speedy Gonzales game

the konami games were fantastic, there's some tiny toons games on the nes also, which are really fun and look great.
If you want an actually good Roadrunner & Wile E. Coyote game, you can't go wrong with Desert Demolition on the Mega Drive. It may be insanely short, but man is it a fun 45-60 minutes. Everything is done well, and the only criticism you can really level at the game is the aforementioned length.
We had Looney Tunes on Game Boy which was interesting as you play as different characters each level
