Those instantaneous part installation edits were amazing, camera girls camera skills with wrench guys wrench skills made this build a fast and fun video! Appreciate your guys enthusiasm! I will like all your videos for eternity!
I was going to comment the same. That reassemble edit was beautiful. the voice over levels are perfect and timing is perfect. You are both way better than you know. I hope you understand the quality of production you are doing.
If you ever put in bearings again, try freezing the bearing and heating up the case. A lot easier and you shouldn’t have to worry about putting it on at an angle or getting it fully seated
I'm doing this exact same thing on a 70cc junker I got for free. The series on this rebuild has taught me a few things, instilled confidence, and has inspired me to go roll my sleeves up and finish it! Thank you! Love your vids!
@@chrisc4427 It's a chinese knockoff 70cc that looks like it was used for parts, but the engine turned nicely. I've completely torn it apart, repainted the frame, got new electricals, currently have the motor completely apart now. Looks like the starter clutch gear has a broken tooth, so I've ordered a new one. I would normally not put time and effort into one of these chinese pit bikes, but it's a great learning opportunity for my kids to get into engines.

1. Float height. 2. Perform the accelerator pump adjustment (so that the spray just miss the slide plate) and install an O-ring on the AP cam screw. 3. Install a #40 leak jet. The bike had a Boyesen Quickshot IIRC so adjust that accordingly.
Using miss matched cases is a huge gamble. I tried it with a chainsaw, it didn’t go well. The problem didn’t start right away, but after it was used for a short while, it had a bearing squeal that wouldn’t go away! Stay with matched cases if you have them, IMHO!
I think it's really a testament to the quality of videos you make that you were able to keep such a good viewer count after being on hiatus for half a year. Very rare for a channel to do that, but you guys managed it! I've loved all of your videos ever since I started watching. Have a great day and thanks for all the great content!
This has rapidly become my new favorite RUclips channel and it's strange to me because I'm not even into bikes, cars, or the mechanical workings of them. I'm so glad the generator video randomly entered my recommended for you section.
Hi @Jg, thanks for takeing the time/effort too post, appreciated. it's good screen time with no cussing (bad language etc..) Always fun to work on bikes... (mostly, lol) regards from U.K.
Thanks for showing when you forget stuff or brake stuff. It happens to me and seeing it happen to others help me not get so mad about it when I mess up
Honestly wouldn't care if you did sponsor bits in videos, especially if it meant helping you fund new projects without breaking the bank! Another great video though, loved it.
While true they do deserve some sponsorship probably in form of proper tools like torque wrench, sadly majority of the companies that are buying screen time from youtubers are ether scumbags or questionable at best, like World of warships is just p2w scam and dollar shave club is getting you signed to subscription of products you might not need or want.
I have a 2004 yz450f. Very similar bikes. Mine was running like yours with s bog, and not ideling the greatest. Jake, get that carb and replace the orings in it's inner cavities. Take off float bowl, then the special screws out in the bottom of bowl, and see how the gaskets in there will be swelled up covering the air passage ways to the Venturi of the carb. There are Tiny tiny pin holes in there that need to be clear, and they can be commonly swelled up, and people only mess with the Jets and float needle, when truly there problem is deeper inside. You probably already know this info, but I thought I'd share. Now my bike runs like new! Also keep up the videos, I have loved them the past few years.
These video edits are getting better and better. Really love the attention to detail and time you're taking to edit the videos and take them to the next level
Came across your channel quite by accident... I don't have a motorcycle any more these days, but I just love people using their hands on these jobs... excellent. liked and subbed!
These 4 strokes actually have a common problem of bogging, 5/10 Yamaha's I've seen bog as soon as you snap it wide open. Good luck jake and can't wait to see you and jen riding together
This is usually while its on the stand and you wack the throttle open with no load. When You're riding/racing this bog isnt an issue unless your carb is gummed up. However you can do the zip tie mod on the accelerator pump actuator and boom it goes away all together.
My yz450f does the same thing when you snap the throttle too quick. Falls on its face but then picks up. It’s like a little shot of nitrous when it kicks in though lol
Another great WR250 video. Engine reassembly, install, and test fire all in 1 video is super awesome. "A gasket and a miracle" is just gravy (LOL). Easily a top 5 ranked video for Jennies Garage! Keep up the good work.
I love these vids because they show that you don't need to spend $9,000 on a new bike to have a ripping machine. buy something old, and spend some time refurbishing it. such a rad mantra
You guys (camera girl and gear face) really bring a smile to my face. You have great chemistry together. You may want to rethink working in a white t-shirt or give them away to viewers after working in them ?
Been a subscriber for a few years bro. I used to just love the mechanics and restoration of dirt bikes so I got my license and got a beat up 07 yz450f and I’m turning it into a supermoto, and it’s about done🤞🏽 I think your videos sparked my interest and it’s been nice working on my own bike finally!🔥
Great video. When installing the transmission, I'll wrap a zip tie or two around it to help hold it together. Otherwise, they are somewhat fiddly. (Remember to remove them before installing the other case half.) Your float needle may be stuck. Thanks for sharing.
Hey man thanx for another cool video. Just some advice ,the outer part of the case still has a lot of dirt on it!! You should really pressure wash everything til all the dirt is off. What don’t come off or is hard to come off there are degreasers you can get to spray on a soak and use a brush to o scrub. You can get the engine as clean as a brand new one right there at home. I do this always because the tiniest bit of dirt so small you don’t see can become a Catastrophe!!! Just a bit of advice. Thank you for you and your wife’s videos I really enjoy seeing them and the bikes you come across.
Just wanted to say those video edits at 10:45 and 13:09 did not go unnoticed and were highly appreciated! Also the edit at 10:45 makes it look like you could 10 of these projects each week - how hard could this stuff be?!
i love those vids, seeing you rip the engine apart down to smallest parts makes me feel more confident that i maybe could tackle top end rebuild on my own
In cases of starting after such repair I usually squirt a little bit of gas under the spark plug so engine turns, it creates more vacuum than just kicking so it get there faster (vvery usefull for 2 strokes after repair so they dont get too worn by first starting). And I actually think that those marks on gear might be from factory machining and the smoother gears might be more worn. But that's only my guess. Best would be to measure them, also it isn't clear on the vid, if it's smoother on both side of gear teeth or not. Stay awesome :-)

If you ever put in bearings again, try freezing the bearing and heating up the case. A lot easier and you shouldn’t have to worry about putting it on at an angle or getting it fully seated
you can actually freeze the bearings with a can of compressed air computer cleaner like "dust off" right at the work bench!👍👍
I think I've seen him do that in the previous video
Nick Blaser I know I’m 10 months too late, but as he was struggling with the bearing, that’s what I was saying to my screen. “PUT IT IN THE FREEZER!”
articity I’ve done it that way dozens of times and never had an issue.
frosten wrong you can heat the case up if you keep it under 250 degrees. Also use an oven for even dispersed heat
