we here in Montana know you get even in July here and we had mild winter over the last few years but I have seen it as cool as -60 before and if you don't have good tires on the truck you should have some it would help out a lot because Montana is land of extreme here

Still a good deal for water at the fire station, Used to be 50 cents for 250 gallons. you guys got way more snow then us. Making lots of progress but might think about rainwater collection since our week ahead looks pretty wet. Good luck and keep it up.

Kacie puts buckets on the edges of the RV for rain water collection... lol. We will eventually install a rain water system on the house.

Plus I'm going to look into that water filtration. system. It sounds like what I want.
I enjoy your videos and watching all the improvements being done. 😊

Awesome sunset! Enjoyed the cameo appearance of the plant starts! Very interested to see how your water filtration systems work out. I had an r/o filter like that for my kitchen sink but I stopped using it because it was dumping so much water. Now we buy filtered water for drinking. I figured out it was cheaper than buying filters. My understanding was that it might have dumped more water than usual because my water pressure is coming from a pump rather than a city water system. Not sure about that. I'm wondering about recycling the discard water back into the water heater. Wouldn't that discard water have an even higher concentration of hardness? Probably you know this already but water heaters build up a lot of scale. We have to replace the heating elements every couple of years. Something about the electricity running through them makes the solids build up on them. It also builds up on the bottom of the tank. Just occurred to me that maybe you don't have an electric water heater so maybe it's different. I heard something years ago that it's possible to put a wire with a small trickle of electricity running through it into a tank of hard water and scale will build up on it like in the water heater. Had the vision of making posts to use in the garden and removing scale from the water at the same time! :) Haven't tried it yet though.

We bought a whole home filtration system specifically for hard water. Tank-less water heaters require descaling with a vinegar solution annually. They also make a filter for tank-less water heaters, specially for scale and hardness. Water heaters with tanks require changing the anode rod annually. Thanks for your comment! :)

How much to you love moving something about 50 times? Or are you way more organized than me? An empty spot on the floor or counter gets filled up quick!

    • @bigskyoffgrid

Definitely not more organized then you! There are rarely empty spots anywhere in our house... just the bed! Moving something around 50+ times is annoying... but I've accepted it's just part of the process.

@@bigskyoffgrid hahaha I've accepted it, but it's frustrating looking for that one thing
