"Excellence is the best deterrent to racism." Winning.
Bella Andrade yeah it's too bad she can't control her weight I guess she can't control what goes into her mouth!
Matthew 15:11
avader5 oh you sad little man
I actually don't think that quote is true. There are plenty of high achieving black people or other people of color that are still looked down upon just because of the color of their skin. If someone doesn't want to like you, they won't no matter what you do. The onus isn't on the victim of racism to hustle to prove that they are good enough to the racist. To me, racism is like a delusion. If someone tells me that they believe that they are Jesus, I wouldn't start playing along confessing my sins to them and asking them to turn water into wine. I would recognize that they are delusional and move on. The same way when someone is being racist, it makes no sense for me to hustle to try to prove my worth when their thought process is off base, inaccurate and ridiculous in the first place. Playing into it only means that a part of you believes that they're right. If I'm being excellent, I'm doing it for myself, not to gain the approval and acceptance of someone who was low enough to judge me by the color of my skin in the first place.
Marissa R. What do you call it when a delusion turns into a person's belief system? Now. What happens when that belief system is/ includes racism? You will never change anyone so don't try. You will never reach your goals by depending on someone else. She says to be patient and work hard and you will get what you toiled for. "Excellency is the best deterrent to... [anything can will try to stop you]"
Crazy how he asked her what would happen if her show didn’t do well & fast forward to now she not only had the best talk show of all time, but now she has her own network. 🙌🏾🙏🏽
When she said I will do well he felt something magical, and he saw her intention.
I think he was trying to break her confidence .
@@SheniceSays214no he wasn't you just haven't seen him interview people 🙄
Nope that would go to Phil Donahue show. I liked her show but not as much as Donahue. I live in chicagoland been to both shows
I love her confidence and intelligence.
This is crazy to see how far she’s comes and to watch this video back then
We are defined by the way we treat our selves and how we treat other people. (She's exquisite. )
She's closer to her God force than most of us. Look at all the blessings she's been given!! I'm a white man who happens to like and admire her. She's an incredible positive force.
IW Nunn ...dont be so easily deceived. Her god is temporary. Her "blessings" came with a price. She will be exposed in time...
mircas and how do u know this? your God tell u?
IW Nunn ..you are obviously not "awake"
mircas probably not
IW Nunn this is well known. cause she could not be where she is right now if she didn't sell her soul to the devil. Every celebrity has to in order to make a lot of money!
"I think of my life in terms of my thighs" - Hahaha! My new fave quote lol
she's always been amazing, I wasn't aware she has been hosting and advocating for young girls for 30+ years
As a white man who has def benefited from white privilege (willingly and unwillingly, knowingly and unknowingly) Oprah is one of my heros. Her show started the year I was born in '86 and and when I was a kid my mom watched it every weekday at 4 on KGO channel 7. I still remember so many episodes and they all had a profound impact on me.
She is DIVINE!!!!!! #Sigh
And, a great teacher!
Thank you! 😊
I grew up watching the Oprah Winfrey Show, at age 13.. I miss it so much! & Btw, I share the bday as her, love you Ms. Winfrey, God bless you always
Loved hearing her sing 🎵
She's amazing then & now❤💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
I think projecting your voice and talking loud and confidently takes you a long way in life.
More than that lol
Such an amazing person!
Her life story is deeply impressive.
I love this interview
The Oprah Winfrey Exhibit Opens this Friday! She is an I C O N We love you O. Keep inspiring us ALL!!
We are defined by how we treat ourselves and others
Oprah said that God is not 'he' or 'she', but is 'everything'. I totally agree.
Powerful statement that carries so much weight
Did y'all see the episode of Everybody Hates Chris where all the men were watching Oprah? Haha. Funny.
Very funny
LOL @ her flirting with Mike Wallace
"If it doesn't do well than i will do well"...#THIS
How many times did he ask her about finding a man. Smh.
My exact thought. Why was it so important for him? I feel like that one part of her life was an opportunity to highlight an area of failure!!
@@phumzilemthembu8822 , She lonely. Who wants to deal with her crap.
@@normanhenderson7300 you're a anonymous b*tch
In the interview? Twice. Just twice. Because a good interviewer finds the uncomfortable topic and probes. That's where the interest lies in an interviewee.
@@millennialpopculture669 He is a guy guys say dumb things
This was an amazing version of Oprah. It's too bad she's not like this anymore.
I love Oprah! She was great then and is great now.
Pleeeez.
👍
:57-1:10 That's where the 'Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio' comes from
Oprah HAS REALLY CHANGED THE WORLD 🌍
Please post the 2004 Aishwarya Rai Interview ❤
OPRAH! . . . WALLACE?
I wish they would have shown Mike's face! Cute Interview!
Talk show host who made it... The irony of it all. She was the best!
1:38-1:47 That explains the 'Jackson transformations'
She has Always been a *Powerhouse*
She don’t need no man.
11/6/2022 I am a 90s baby. I'm not sure why my guardian's didn't watch the Oprah show. Come to think of it, it's probably because we didn't have cable. But I was introduced to her through the film the color purple. And her performance hasn't left from my memory bank. As she grew into a power house. Her name popularized within the community. She became one of the most glorified black women. It wasn't until this summer, when my journey to self discovery began that I became interested in her. The universe placed her in front of me to observe and listen to. Now I am studying her. Because I believe that she is a great person of influence to study if you desire to live a meaningful, self Fullfilled life of Success. *#GoOprah*
Oprah's show was on ABC in Chicago and affiliates across the country on network TV not cable
One you are not sure of is the fella. Because you are not 100% in control of that and you don't just want to settle. You want to be loved and be in love.
love her ❤️❤️❤️
Why all the focus on her finding a
man?
Self-evident. True companionship is not a substitute for having plenty.
Wasn't there a sequence here where Oprah is signing autographs in a mink coat and there was a song in the background, Everybody loves Oprah?
This is historical. She says (12:10) it would be wonderful to be a talk show host who’s made it...
Beautiful
9:10
She doesn’t think she experienced any racism but she did growing up but she possibly did.
She has consistently shared stories about her experiences with racism
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Oprah predicted her own future. She will die alone with her cats.
I really hope she makes it BIG! 😉
1:25 Parallels
Love your pajama party - is there still a girl's club- you are also a VERY talented actress💜😘😘😘😘😘💜💜💜
Well Ms. Oprey ... ya dun good!

1:34-1:36 Wow
SOMETHING WONDERFUL WHEN SHE HIT THE WORLD SCENE, FOR ME. 1986😎😎😎😎😎😎😆😆😆😆👌👌👌👌😚😚😚😚😚💖💖💓💓💕💕💗💗💗👄👄🤘🤘🤘👍👍
Such an inspiration. Always be one. We are all human, with limitations of all kinds. No one is completely perfect. But, Oprah Winfrey by far, thanks to the fabulous platform she was able to create, is one of the most powerful teachers in this dimension after Jesus, Ghandi, MLK, Mother Theresa & the likes. She taught an entire generation to soul search, to look within for divine guidance, fortitude & so much more. I am forever grateful that she was born black, physically unattractive " according to societal rules" for so many many, many extremely important reasons. Such as, had she been attractive, mixed colored, white, or even Asian, her message would not have reached the global impact it has. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you Source for giving us Oprah. I bless & give thanks to her entire blood line for giving us Oprah. I bless Mr Duncan & every other teacher for being that spark which helped Oprah remain stead fast on the path of light for the benefit of all. So many of us get lost along along the way
I totally agree with you 100%! She has made life better for millions!
I wonder if Oprah knows her impact on the world?
Is this really 60 minutes interview or 60 minutes by name
It is the 60 minutes interview
She look older back then.
Makeup techniques were different
wow
It all makes sense now...... #letmichaelrestinpeace
Pre Stedman ❤️❤️
The guy never was.
I like her better here than now
HappyMothers day 😉💞
Oprah definitely had a lot of work done
So she got some dogs instead of Dem kittens
@9:07- Are there any girls out there today that can recall these get together? That would validate it for me!
She has a difficult life. She is a victim of incest and She can cover up the hurt in a briljant way. Don't ever underestimate What this Does to a person.
Her life isn't DIFFICULT!! omg people evolve, obviously you have some things that YOU need to let go and evolve from... God Bless.
I will do well
I will still do well
a QUEEN
Yass
He’s looking at her like she’s crazy
Hshaha
Still raving on about her weight in 2020. 34 years later.
Now we need that for Neurodiversity as well
Oprah then same Oprah now.
one's 'looks' shouldn't be dependant on tons o' hair and makeoop
WOW. AND WE STIIL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT OUT PURPOSE
She had thee confident long tym ago...😍
Acting. She deserves an award.
Hmmm. She grew up in the south in the fifties and sixties and didn't experience racism? I grew up in the 80s and 90s and experienced plenty. That, I do not believe. I do love and admire her overwhelming positivity and optimism, though.
Rapture folds it’s possible that she refused to acknowledge, give it attention, or life. Like she said “excellence is the best deterrent to racism.” Racism only really works when we give it energy.
I Love Oprah
"GOD IS NOT A HE OR A SHE" ...??? SELLING OUT EQUALS TOTAL. COMPLACENCY. I PRAY SOME DAY YOU WILL MEET HIM BC YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE NOT .....THAT IS SO SAD. YOU HAVE THIS HUGE PLATFORM AND WHAT...?
There's no such thing as different races. There is only one race- the human race. Race as 'black', 'white', 'yellow', etc. is just made up by people who presume that we are all in one race or another or of mixed race but, we are all unique and we all have melanin in our skin unless we are albino. We tan, I have freckles which is melanin/sun protection. We can marry and have children no matter what our melanin in our skin/ hair. We all go grey/ most.
It’s sad that she lightened her skin.
Update me
She still single
black excellence
Oprah Winfrey I'm not God I'm God creation and I'm God lover. So I know you think God is a woman!!! Everything about you guys is success and money. You guys don't have room for God and when you guys found someone is good you guys want that person which was created by God.
Yeah you are it asking poor people for money honey.
Why is the audience white?
Please... she'll never make it
he was so condescending. it makes me so mad !!!
Uh...how so? Seemed pretty much how he always reports. *shrug*
How? 👀
It seems that some people become whiter or paler the richer they become.
If God does indeed exist why can't [it] be whatever gender you yourself are? I was always told that God made man and women in his/her/it's own image.
This is the 1st time I've seen OPRAH with bad skin.
2dasimmons this is poor oprah
THAT'S FUNNY. Wow. Oprah surely isn't poor anymore AND her skin looks great!
Is this con artist making millions off dopes back on?
I love her?? Nah, God is a "He".
Oprah was very black, now her skin looks almost white. What happened to her?
Lene Ring When most black people gain weight, their skin darkens. As they lose weight it lightens. This doesn’t happen to many, sometimes the skin gets a patchy look.
Maybe you need an eye exam. She is the same color she's always been. Now the quality of the film is better, the lighting is better, her make up is better and maybe she had a tan in this interview.
White? Are you crazy? Oprah is probably the blackest woman on tv
Maybe instead of questioning Oprah's color, you should be questioning your optometrist or looking for one. Her skin is nowhere near white.
It's called lighting
I love Oprah but no black people working for you? Smh
She has black ppl working for her
She wanted excellence, not pity hires.
I am sorry O but I respectfully disagree with you. There is no such thing as reverse racism, there is only racism.
She can't even control her weight I can't even imagine what she would do as president!
Are you republican? We might have something in common. Would you like to have a productive conversation?
shut up
Are you insane?
I didn't know weight was reflective of intelligence. OH, boy, that proves Trump is an idiot.
avader5 .. You're Such a Dumb F_CK!! What a Stupid remark ..weight has ZERO to do with her Intelligence and Character, which is ALL that matters!!
