  • This is an early season trip in California Sierra Nevada mountains where we go over Trail Pass and walk the PCT into the NP where we summit Langley then exit New Army Pass to Cottonwood Lakes. There was still some snow!

Cottonwood. Low elevation gain for Sierra. Out to last lake. Then its up. Long slog up Langley. Great wooded area. Walk it. Off trail 👣 north side.
Remember where you park. Got lost looking for car. 😅

You can definitely see Whitney looming high Sierra.

We tried to climb Pulpit mtn in the Purcells last month and had to turn around after trying to get through the snowfields for a couple of hours. Enjoyed your video.

Trees are 800 years old. Type of Bristlecone.

What is the condition of New Army Pass? Any required gear?

Current reports is a 10ft patch of snow to navigate (there is a boot track laid in). No crampons/ice axe required.

Thanks for taking us along with you guys. You certainly did try to avoid the snow, but looks like you still had a little bit left. Either way, thanks for letting us join you on the journey! Beautiful video!
