His routines now tend to OWN his "dirty old man" reputation so he doubles down on the shock value of his comedy, for better or worse. And the thing is, he never denied the accusations and apologized immediately, but this was insufficient in our age of cancel culture where all sins are of equal measure and consequence. For how badly this has effected him, you'd think he'd done something outrageously illegal and then said "so what?" like Cosby.
