After eating lots of meat-rich Grenadian dishes all over the island of Grenada, I decided to switch it up and eat some Grenadian vegan food at Mt. Carmel Falls. Come with me and let’s explore the mouthwatering world of Grenadian vegan cuisine!

WATERFALL COOKING: My experience began with a roughly 30-minute hike through the jungle past papaya and mango trees. We arrived at a waterfall, where our cook, Joakim, prepared a corn split pea soup containing coconut milk, garlic, chives, celery, pumpkin, green bananas, roasted split peas, scotch bonnet peppers, and sea moss jelly. It was so rich and packed with flavor, and was so hearty that you wouldn’t even miss the meat! Best of all, it’s quick and easy and only takes 30 minutes to make!

There are plenty Vegan in the Caribbean as far back in the Seventies am one of them.
The Vegan Really was in the Caribbean Among the Rasta community Since the Sixties it were call Ital , they eat no meat or fish we made the same similar soup as this one only later on became known in the west as Vegan.
Rastas have been vegan and ital in the Caribbean for years

GM David. You are one crazy hell of a guy🤭. Can't, or maybe I should, believe that you ate the scotch bonnet pepper, wow!!! That corn soup looked so good and delicious. I was not surprised that it cooked so quickly because the green figs and potatoes usually cook in about 15 - 20 minutes. Glad you enjoyed it. The waterfall looked so inviting to bathe in. Hi David...The water there looked so refreshing ...even the doggie started drinking ....And foods cooked on a wooden fire always tastes the best....Vegan corn soup with green bananas and all the herbs and aromatics esp split peas makes it such a very nutritious meal....Also the Water fall and the surroundings...just so natural peaceful... It was truly peaceful I wish I could work from there everyday. I'd be so much more at peace. Thankfully I'm back at home at least for a few more days lol. You'd have loved the surroundings and the food too Shabana and Hailey! Hope you are both doing really well too!

Wow I have been on this walk to the Falls it hard on the legs. a lot of criming up and down you climb up about 5-800 feet. You notice how cold water is in falls.
Hey David. Vegan? Look at the streams and waterfalls. Natural beauty. Can taste this corn soup as he lists the ingredients 😋. Was thinking those rocks look slippery taking me back to my attempt on Dunns river falls in Jamaica 😂. Know it’s almost finished as he added the potatoes. This soup looks amazing. You bit into the scotch bonnet 😮? The thickness from the sea moss makes it look more like stew to each with rice 🍚 or plain. So I would prefer without the moss to have broth. Looks delish 😋. Honestly this soup was amazing. You'd have loved the waterfall, it was very safe and secluded. We really enjoyed peace and quiet with a delicious meal. And of course you know I'm going for a scotch bonnet...I love my spice! Thank you so much Cydney!!!

That pepper is not scotch bonnet, Scotch bonnet is green when it's ripe it's red, that pepper is more like the west Indian red.
Where is the dash dumpling?
I 'm sure you can add a variety of provisions based on your preference.

@@Davidsbeenhere maybe incorporate a little music when you’re transitioning to different locations…also like in this one I noticed you guys repeated the same loop of your feet walking down to the falls like 4 times….it tells me you took one shot of that and just kept inserting it…Id like to see different points in time
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the video and I really appreciate the constructive feedback. I usually use music in my videos (as you can see in other videos in the Grenada series) however for this video we felt it was best to leave it raw so you can hear the sounds of nature and the waterfalls. Its the only video in the series without music. As for the feet walking down I do film several versions of that just to help with transitions, the video is definitely sequential. But that said I totally understand your feelings here and I'm thankful you shared them. Have a beautiful weekend semaj!
