  • Why Should I Forgive?: Bible Study on Forgiveness | Bible Study Journal
I know I previously did a video on how to forgive but I felt like today's video put a different perspective on forgiveness. As Easter Sunday nears, let's remember why Jesus died for us and honor him by easily forgiving others. Today's bible study features the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant in Matthew 18:21-35. Forgiveness is definitely something I need to work on in my own life and therefore I study it often. I hope you find this bible study

I really like how you said that forgiveness is a process. I guess we have to be willing and over time it will happen. I try to always forgive. I have always found it easy to forgive if there's an apology but I'm working on forgiving without one. I also enjoyed hearing the parable and realizing that it was about forgiveness. I've read it before but I don't think I made that connection before. Thank you!

Same here - I never made that connection either! I love that we can all discover something new from His word that was written so long ago💕

Great image to start the video, Bujo.
Forgiveness is a trickery, slippery slope for me. I gone through hell in high school, and at 40 years old, I tend to have nightmares about this every day. I pondered
suicide one time and went through depression then when people would constantly laugh at me and make fun of me. I got stabbed in the back by people I thought
it was friends. I still carry that anger, and as long as I live in this town where I went to school, it will be in my memory. I guess when I move out to another state
one day, it may be different. We have to see.
The way I see it, I rather just forget than forgive. By forgetting, you don't have to forgive or think about it.
As you said, forgiveness is a process, and maybe as I get better at doing God's will, maybe forgiveness will come to me.
I get it God forgave us for our sins, so why can't we, but on the other hand, it wasn't our fault we sin. We inherited sin. This is why forgiveness is a
    trickery, slippery slope.

I'm sorry you had to go through that, it must be hard sometimes. I do know that God wants us to forgive not only because he forgives us, but because forgiveness is for our own hearts. Once we forgive we are free, no longer tied to what that person has done to us. I have had to forgive for some very difficult situations and I can say that it is so much more freeing on the other side. I am praying for you ❣️

@@BibleBujo Thanks, Bujo. You are a good friend along with being with a good mentor. You make a good point about forgiving
can be freeing on the other side. I can say the same about forgetting. Maybe forgetting goes hand-in-hand with forgiving.

Hi! Thank you for that video! I am so so new to all of this so maybe you did already or I don't know. But do you plan to do a study of the New Testament in depth like you do for Genesis?

Great question and yes! I'm going through the entire Bible and will eventually get to the New Testament. But since that will probably be a while away I've been thinking about doing some videos on the New Testament. Thank you for watching 😊💕
