One of the many reasons that streamer was wrong for catfishing is that she's legit putting the girls, who photo she stole, lives in danger. There was a show on Catfish where a girl was trying to stop a stranger online from using her photos. The reason is because she'd had to deal with random internet users harassing and stalking her thinking she was a girl they were talking to this whole time.
So if this is the story I'm thinking of, someone hacked her cloud and even took the sexy time pics that she'd sent her bf and the catfisher sent them to folks pretending to be her. A guy even fell in love with the catfisher and accidently ran into the real girl but started stalking her. Others started stalking the real girl, even sending her death threats and stuff.
while using other peoples photos without consent is not okay, it’s such so sad how beauty standards and the social capital one has from being attractive can impact livelihoods so much. like her real face was exposed and everyone recoiled and was repulsed. she did lie and her desperate attempts to cover everything up was really embarrassing and wrong but I can’t help but feel bad that our beauty obsessed world contributes to these situations
I feel bad that she felt the need to conform to these standards, but I don't feel bad for her being exposed+shunned. She has also been contributing to the obsession around beauty. I hope she is able to restart her life peacefully

It's like if he had embezzled the money and spent it shopping in person or online or paid bills with it or whatever, they wouldn't have to give it back then. It's not her responsibility to monitor these gross grown men and how they act toward her. If they want to throw money and expensive gifts at her that's their problem not hers.
Exactly what I’m saying. I don’t think she was wrong, would she really have been so popular if she showed her real face initially? Why are people never willing to look at the big picture? The real problem isn’t with women “cat fishing online” it’s the fact that people only think you’re worthy of nice things if you’re attractive. She simply took advantage of the system that sexualizes women and used that attention to benefit her which if given the opportunity, I would do the same. I guess I can understand how someone would hate dishonesty but she probably didn’t know what else to do once her real face was exposed .

Actually in the law of many countries, including the US, there are definitely circumstances where you have to return money obtained by fraud/embezzlement/etc. It just depends on the particularities of the situation and how a judge decides to rule.
I mean all her videos are sponsered on both her channels and even podcast. Isn't it obvious she'll have to upload to keep up with the brand deals. Good for her but the multiple brands on rotten mango are a bit too much

I had someone steal my daughters pictures for free stuff. My daughter who was 3 at the time has cancer and we were trying to fundraise and I was told about this lady and account sure enough it was my daughter. No wonder I was being called a liar, scammer etc. I did report everything file a report with police etc. People do this for free things. People steal pictures for free items it's sad.

the whole trend of people going into debts to succeed in streaming is quite concerning since a lot of it is based on luck (esp on twitch and youtube). Not to mention, pretty privilege, male privilege and other factors like connections, sexuality, race and etc really come into play depending on which platform and the kind of community you're getting into. You might have a lot of fans, but you also get a lot of people with ill intent who watch you. And it also sucks that some streamers also turn out to be genuinely evil people. Both are definitely weird incidents more than a scandal. The first story only turned into a scandal cause of how hard she was going in the aftermath to horribly cover up her lies. She looks pretty good in my opinion and she's not UGLY but the fact that she lied to people to get money was wrong as well. This also shows what beauty standards are their. Both are definitely weird incidents more than a scandal. The first story only turned into a scandal cause of how hard she was going in the aftermath to horribly cover up her lies. Lol I’m the end though, I agree with “people are gonna do whatever they want with their money.” These two women have no need to return it.
